I was soo excited after my first haircut at Salon on 6th! Got in quickly. Safe protocols were followed. I got the EXACT hair style I wanted. The second visit, safety protocols were followed but the haircut I received was meh. The third visit, which was rescheduled multiple times because the stylist went home early, was a complete abomination of a hairstyle. I am a fairly new client at Salon on Sixth, but am so thrilled to have made me the move. I got to know the owner and lead stylist, Sarai, through business networking events. I heard her talk about styling and color services like an art form, and instantly loved her creativity and passion. my dad was a barber, so the way she described her craft reminded me of how seriously and gratefully my dad treated his clients and friends. Prior to my first appointment, I had a consultation with Sarai. we talked about my hair type and texture, my concerns, my wants, and my dedication (or lack there of) to morning prep time! we also talked about a medical condition that causes one side of my hair to have not grown back in proportion to the other. Sarai immediately offered options, advice, sample products and a plan! Pumped and not intimidated at all, my first appointment was a breeze. I knew what to expect and so did she. While she worked we talked about food and local businesses and our pets. I felt super comfortable the whole time. Sarai "paints" hair for custom color results. I was amazed at the depth and body she created with my new cut and color. After my second appointment, she honed in further on creating more body and movement for my hair, and adjusted the color for the season. I am in awe of the time she takes with each client to perfect and care for each persons' hair design. plus, she is a good human and has the best team at the salon. She also regularly cuts my 4 year old daughter's hair and always makes her look and feel like a princess. Friend booked an appointment for me for a birthday present. The atmosphere was ok, they have a cat who wanders the place that my friend likes to come see. Was offered coffee and tea. None of this really mattered to the salon part though. I walked in with reference pics of me with a hairstyle I had a few years prior and a color I wanted it dyed. Upon seeing and explaining the reference pics, they asked questions about the hairstyle and I clarified I wanted it about the same length all the way around, I wanted enough hair I could put behind my ears and tie back. I got the sense this was not being listened to, the hairdresser seemed to be slurring her speech like she was drunk. The pre-cut for lightening was essentially the hairstyle I wanted, but then they actually got to the process, and it was frustrating. I was told the lightener would take about 30 minutes. I waited an hour and 30 minutes before anyone came back to me. When coloring my hair, they chose a lighter color than the reference. I pointed this out to the guy coloring my hair, Jake I think his name was, when he started and he said I could do whatever I want to my hair after I leave, essentially telling me "dye it yourself." Which made me wonder what we were paying for. After the color came out, the hairdresser gave me a side shave and cut down pretty much everything other than what was highlighted, which wasn't what the reference looked like, wasn't what I specified, and honestly the result was patchy and uneven for what it was. The edges were not even feathered right on the longer parts, and there was a straight cut line when it would sit naturally. So I walked out with a hairstyle much shorter than I asked for, in the wrong color, after spending 3 and a half hours and the money for the appointment. Upon getting home and looking closer into the mirror, I noticed how patchy the shorter parts were. Asked for a refund, didn't get one, got offered to come back to re-color my hair. I didn't, I went home colored it myself with store bought dye in half the time. Cannot recommend, especially for this price. They give an illusion of being cooperative while not really doing what you ask or specify. read more

I had my hair cut and highlighted here. The highlight was so streaky and unnatural. The cut was terrible. Everything that she said she was going to do: natural, sublte highlights that accented my face and a cut that could be straightened or curled and rested on my shoulders DID NOT HAPPEN. The highlights made me wash out. The cut was way shorted than described. I was morbidly disgusted with the outcome. I even mentioned I had thin hair and she ended up texturing big chunks out which of course has made it even thinner looking. It was absolutely terrible. I should have known by how easy it was to make an appointment. Next time I'll go with my instincts. read more

My name is Milton. My wife and I, went resentfully to Salon on Sixth at Downtown Kenosha cause my wife wanted to do a "permanent straightening", according with the specialist it will cost $175.00 and the effect of Permanent straight will be up to 8 weeks. We notice that the procedure was totally different, the specialist said it was cause the products (AVEDA PRODUCTS), for our surprise the treatment was gone after the 4th day, so I called back, now the owner offer me to pay again for "antifreeze and low volume n treatment", I asked for the guarantee for the services that we already paid, she said "Unfortunately I can not guarantee the permanent straight effect that she want it cause our products doesn't have the capability to do that".... Why they did not explain us before about their poor products capabilities. Why they Offer Permanent Straightening treatment if they are no able to do it. Why they applied other service, different that we wanted, of course we know the different between permanent straight and antifreeze and low volume treatment. Why they are playing with the customers. Why just to be honest like others smalls and cheaper salons and say "We do not offer that service". read more
