I am a new client to the salon. I came in for a consultation with Kyke to go over the plan how to straighten out the mess my previous hairdresser left me with. Kyle asked me to bring pictures of what I wanted, how I liked to wear my hair and then we came up with a game plan together. I LIKED THAT. I made an appointment. Kyle warned me in advance after looking at my hair and what i wanted that it would take awhile. Because of my scheduling constraints this process would take 2 appointments. We had to undo alot of what the previous hairdresser had done. I was way too blonde for my complexion. It's ok to have blonde steaks but not blonde as a base color and that's what the previous hairdresser had done. Kyle was so understanding with me. He is quite talented - received a great haircut from him. I have ALOT of hair. It's curly too, I like to have it blown dryed slightly wavy. It looks amazing ladies. Awesome salon. . I went in to beautiful Salon One 50 for the first time. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I explained I had been looking for a new salon in Alamo with someone experienced at cutting short haircuts, and someone that could also color my hair. Laura Martin was suggested for both. I made an appointment. She listened to me and made suggestions that I liked. I wish you should see my hair now, I am more than happy with the results! Laura is very talented! She told me she was Vidal Sassoon trained in cutting. My hair is difficult to work with. I have never had a hair cut that I have loved this much, And my color is beautiful. I definitely feel I have found what I have been looking for, All in a salon with a warm comfortable inviting feeling! My whole experience deserves A full 5 star rateing! I bought a living social deal for a color and cut service with margie. I have to say when I looked her up at salon one 50 on yelp I saw one review that wasnt bad but wasnt the best, I was a little worried but I made an appointment. I dont know why anyone would write a review like that about her? margie went out of her way to accomadate me, she even stayed late for my appointment. I got a new color and a new haircut for 1/2 off. I love what she did for me, she is amazing and a great person to talk with. I knew she didnt get a fair review. I felt like I really needed to speak up for her so I did. I think if you dont have something nice to say about someone, dont say it at all. yelp is not about hurting people, but some people like that sort of thing...btw look at the other posts she writes, she finds fault in everything except fat deserts. read more

Go see Chelsea! Wow. Since the beginning of time, I have hated my hair, and the haircuts I get. I never know what I want, but I know what I don't like. I am that person who comes in with no idea of what I want done with my hair, I just want the person who is cutting it to figure it out for me. The first time I went to see Chelsea, I had just been out running, my hair was up, wearing a headband, and I hadn't showered in too long. I didn't have much of an idea of what I wanted, I just asked that she didn't make me look like a soccer mom :) Chelsea gave me the best haircut I've had since I could remember. receive my own hair trim there and I asked only for a smidgen off my long bangs and I was talked into cutting off my long bangs into small bangs to curl tiny bangs with old fashioned curlers, you know the tiny ones in pink with pink clips and then to stand there with my hot dryer and fry my head while drying my bangs into tiny little rolled bangs across the top of my forehead! my boyfriend laughed at my new hairdo. I really liked it and was glad I was talked into getting bangs really short and every morning my honey puts arms around me as I blow bangs dry and my honey started fetching me my coffee too without any complaints. read more

I followed her here from another salon because she found products I can use that are not toxic, she always makes me look fantastic with my hair style and keeps the silver from sneaking in and making me look older...I'm to young to look old yet! This is the first time that I have ever posted on Yelp, and I have decided to do so, as Salon One 50 is the best. It is always incredibly clean, everyone says "hello" as you pass by, and it has tons of bright light, and gorgeous orchids to provide cheer. My stylist, Melissa is always cheerful, and does a professional job, with both her cuts, and color. Julie does a marvelous job with the mani-pedi department and I love having her pick my colors, as she is spot-on, for my moods. I get my hair cut at Salon 50 by Chelsea Miller. It comes out great each and every time. She takes the time to listen to what I want and has made good suggestions as well. She has never colored my hair but have seen the work she does with that. Again, I've heard no complaints in that department. Above all, she has a welcoming attitude, is always perky and happy. Great salon - gorgeous contemporary atmosphere. I used to call up and ask for anyone who could fit me in that day/week for a root touch-up, as I'm not much of a planner, so I've seen many stylists and I've been happy with them all. The last year or so I've seen Crystal, and I've stuck with her - I just text her and she tells me when she can fit me in, so easy. She does a great job. My stylist was Samantha. She did an amazing job and she is my go to person when I want to get my hair done. I don't let no one touch my hair, besides her. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her. She always leaves me feeling really beautiful at the end . I decided to go all out and get my hair dyed one color but as a balayage. Laura Martin is a master at her craft! I'm a make up artist in city and I get stopped by people all the time to take pictures of my cut, other stylist "observe" my cut and "try learn from it" I can't even tell you how many people complement my hair a day. Lisa Stuart is the best hairstylist out there. I have been going to her for a year now and wish I went to her my whole life. She does incredible color, fantastic styling & up on the latest trends.
