I recently moved from DC to Hoboken. One of the hardest things for a woman is to find a new salon to go to. Just like most people do, when I moved I asked for suggestions. I went with one of the suggestions but didn't like the end result. The toner that hairdresser used changed the color of my roots, and I realized it as time went by. That's when I decided to find a salon on my own. I wanted a salon that used wella or L'Oréal, both brands I'm used to. That's when I found Celeste. The salon is beautiful and all equipment is top of the line. She's very personable and friendly. She will get you a mimosa while you guys chat! Celeste took the time to understand the history of my hair, the tones I like, and most importantly she fixed the problem. My hair is so beautiful. I can look at myself in the mirror again :-) I think she did a great job w color. I also liked how she styled the hair. I will have to go back for cut and highlights but she knows what she's doing.

I've been going to Celeste for years now and each time I love my hair a little more! She listens to what you are looking for and adds her own suggestions to create beautiful hair. I usually get balayage, glaze and a haircut. Over the years I've tried multiple tones and lengths which have all been amazing transformations. The space is also calm and inviting. I look forward to my time with Celeste!

When I found Celeste to cut my hair I knew I would be going to her forever. Every single cut has been beautiful - she really understands hair with all textures. I wear my hair straight, heat curls and naturally curly how can my hair cut every time look amazing with each different style. No other person I ever went to could achieve it. She works one on one (even before covid) so it's a great safe place plus it's beautiful inside.

I am a long time client of Celeste, owner of Salon Phoenix. Celeste has created a boutique salon where the client receives her full attention. From the consult to the finished product the focus is on you and the result is amazing hair. Check out the Instagram page yourself to see the beautiful head shots of Celeste's clients.

Great new salon in midtown Hoboken. The owner Celeste has done a fantastic job with creating a relaxing space that has a rustic uber chic charm. My stylist for the evening was Sasha and she did a super job on my single process and blow out. They were able to accommodate me at short notice and I left looking and feeling refreshed. Sasha was easy to work with and everyone else I spoke to at the salon was really nice and friendly. Honestly, I don't have the patience for snobby stylists and that's something that really puts me off! None of that here....the folks are thorough professionals and nice to be around. While all the other products they use at the salon (shampoo etc.,) are organic, the hair color they use is Wella. I'm happy with the way my hair looks and feels and the blowout Sasha gave me has held up well after 24 hours. Single process is $65 and a blowout is an additional $30 - it would be great if the blow out was included as part of the color treatment. First timers get 15% off.

I had an amazing experience at Salon Phoenix. Celeste is very knowledgeable and talented at what she does and you can absolutely see and feel her passion for it. I love how she took the time to walk me through the process and explained to me in great detail why she recommends certain treatments as opposed to others. I had an outgrown pixie and she did an excellent job in leveling my hair. She has also done a great job highlighting parts of my hair which helped create nice dimension and texture. My hair feels and looks amazing. I would be coming back.

After testing out a few hair salons in Hoboken, I finally found Celeste. I have been going to Salon Phoenix since July 2016 and words truly can't express the care, attention to detail, and pleasant environment Celeste creates. I am pretty indecisive and Celeste always provides a few options that help me decide what's best for my hair. She is amazing at balayage and is always perfecting her craft. Her blow outs are the best! Whenever I leave the salon I feel a million times better than when I came in. I highly recommend Celeste for not only her skill and technique, but the kind and supportive individual she is!

From the very beginning, he took his time, listened carefully to every concern, and explained everything in a way that made me feel comfortable and heard. For anyone with curly or wavy hair, I would describe the service here as very hit-or-miss when it comes to curly hair. My most recent appointment was especially disappointing. **Haircut** I booked with Michael Bergela, a master stylist, for what was supposed to be a simple trim. Instead, he cut my hair significantly shorter than I requested. This is the shortest my hair has ever been in my life, and I left feeling extremely insecure because short hair is not a look I feel comfortable with. I had clearly expressed that I prefer to keep my length. When I raised my concerns, I was essentially told to go back to the stylist who had previously cut my hair because there was nothing he could do. That response was frustrating considering I had just paid almost $500 and was leaving extremely unhappy with the result. We started with my hair completely wet, which made me nervous, but I tried to trust the process. I asked for my bangs to be blended a little more, and somehow that resulted in a substantial amount of length being removed from the rest of my hair. At the very least, I would have appreciated a warning that this was going to happen. I have seen plenty of people with long hair and bangs, so I still do not understand why so much length needed to be removed. I came in with length that stopped middle of my back and left with shoulder length. **Hair Color** Frank handled my color service. I intentionally wait a long time between appointments to minimize damage, meaning he was working with a significant amount of virgin hair. I explained exactly what I wanted, but after the color was completed and I was sent to be shampooed, Frank left before even seeing the final result or asking whether I was happy with it. I had been in the salon from around 11:00 a.m. until nearly 6:00 p.m., and after all that time, I was disappointed to see noticeable damage and a balayage that looked much thicker and less blended than I had requested. **Styling** Fiona did the initial styling. I have 2C/3A wavy-curly hair, which is not an especially difficult curl pattern to work with. However, my hair was left extremely frizzy with almost no curl definition. It honestly looked like I had rolled out of bed. After spending almost $500, I should not leave feeling like I could have achieved a better result at home. I expressed my concerns to Fiona and specifically pointed out the frizz and lack of curl definition, but she made no effort to correct it and simply LEFT AS WELL. By this point, the salon was nearly empty because most of the stylists had already gone home. It felt like the focus was no longer on providing good service but on getting me out the door. A second person, who I believe may have been an intern or assistant attempted to style my hair. She seemed very nervous, and I genuinely tried to be patient and kind. In fact, I found myself guiding everything how to style wavy/curly hair because I wanted to leave with my hair looking presentable. Michael even handed her a brush that was completely inappropriate for curly hair styling. I really just wanted to take over so I can leave already at this point. I am sharing this experience so that other curly-haired clients can make an informed decision. My most recent appointment left me with hair that was shorter than requested, more damaged than expected, poorly styled, and left me feeling far less confident than when I walked in but the issue wasn't just the hair itself, but how the staff handled my concerns. Instead of anyone taking the time to address my dissatisfaction or attempting to make things right, each person simply left, said there's nothing they can do and to go back to the person that previously cut my hair. I am not the type of person to leave negative reviews but I paid good amount of money and felt very insecure of my hair for days. Hoping I would get used to it but I'm just waiting for my hair to grow back now and doing a lot of hair masks.

White Hart first attracted me because of James. I used to visit James when he was at Sally Hershberger for cuts and keratin, but then when he moved over to a different salon, I stopped going to see him (not because of James, but rather because I found the front desk staff and assistants very rude there and it was impossible to get an appointment). When I heard that James had opened his own salon, I was thrilled. I was able to book an appointment with ease through their easy to use system. White Hart is conveniently located in on 22nd off the A,C,E 23rd street stop. The salon is in the basement but well marked so easy to find and because it isnt right on the street, I found the salon to be quiet - it almost felt a little spa like. Another bonus is that they use R&Co products which I love and unlike some keratin products, the keratin they put on my hair could be washed that same day (although I waited 24 hours). The salon has great sonos speakers and since I was the first appointment of the day, James let me choose the playlist. The best part is that there is a little garden so when I was done with my appointment, I sat outside and finished my coffee and sent some emails. It has been a week and I am very happy with my keratin and cut and have received several compliments. I plan to come back for keratin and also blowouts and cuts.
