There are 2 hair stylists that work there. 1 primarily cuts men's hair. I was asked if I could come back in around an hour due to another appointment and that making an appointment was better. She was efficient in cutting my hair and REALLY REALLY washed my hair thoroughly. I loved my hair cut and also got lots of compliments. It grows out well as well. I'll definitely be going back.

I was hoping for the best, and he gave me exactly the waves I was looking for. The process was about 5 hours, but honestly, I love waking up with effortless beach waves every day, so it was worth it! They even offer snacks and water during the service, which I thought was such a nice touch. The owner, who is also a stylist, was really nice as well. Tldr: Don't get your hair done by TONY…read more I got my digital perm done about a week ago have been debating whether or not to write a review. However, this whole appointment and the end result was too unpleasant for me to ignore. Tony was the one who did my perm and Tony was unprofessional. Please avoid having Tony do your hair. To start, Tony showed up to the appointment 15 minutes late (and his coworker was telling him his 11 o'clock was there) and then seemed very disinterested in trying to get the service started. Then, after briefly glancing at my reference photo and finding his own- Tony told me that my hair needed to go shorter and proceeded to give the most careless haircut ever. Total hack job. During the perm, Tony rolled each hair extremely tight that he even had to pause to massage his hands. The overly tight rolls bruised my scalp and Tony was so careless with placing the spacers between the rollers and scalp that I actually was tearing up because the pain was so unbearable. And even though I mentioned that it hurt Tony lowkey just ignored it?? To top it off- Tony ran out of rollers HALFWAY throughout the process so I had to wait with the crazy tight rollers for around 30 minutes (I am not exaggerating). And Tony's not the one that informed me about it- Tony's nice coworkers were the ones that continued to check in and keep me updated. Also, the whole salon had 3 digital perms going on (including mine) and they kept grabbing the rollers coming off from another client and directly using it on my hair. I don't know if that's normal but I thought every tool was supposed to be disinfected prior to using it on another client. If the digital perm turned out the way I wanted- I would not be so upset but the curls were MUCH MUCH tighter than I asked for. But mostly the experience sucked. And it sucks because I had come here previously for a regular perm and had such a great experience that I trusted the salon for another appointment. I will not be visiting this salon again. (And clearly I am very upset towards TONY for messing up my hair and being totally incompetent throughout the whole appointment. Also, maybe you wouldn't lose YOUR VAPE IN THE BIN OF DIGITAL HAIR ROLLERS if you weren't too busy vaping while doing your client's hair.)

He really nailed the layered haircut and gave me good advice. (It's helpful but not necessary to know Chinese before coming here. I just showed lots of reference photos to describe which parts I liked and wanted to my hair style.) My hair was super long and flat before but I actually love the layers and curtain bangs now. She was already in Taiwan for additional hair training and would respond to me, going back and forth between me and Ken. And mind you, this is before Lunar New Year, when most people would get their haircut! My day started right at opening time (10am) with a haircut. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he just went with it. I will say this honestly: I've never liked my haircut this much. Why did it take me 40 years??? Anyway, we then had my hair washed and started with the first round of bleach around 11am, and then touch up. By 1pm, I decided to eat my lunch. I came prepared this time! Quick story: 9 years ago, I had no idea this type of hair procedure would take all day, and therefore did not bring lunch. Ken and Kristie fed me lunch! They are the best people, I swear. Anyway, after a rinse, we did another round of bleach with touch ups. I made it more difficult for Ken because I had dyed my hair a darker shade to cover my greys. I'm so sorry Ken! By 4pm it was no COLORING TIME! Ken started with the purple roots, then added the silver to the rest, with rounds of touching up. 5:30pm is when we did our last round of wash, then blow dry and a bit of styling. After a quick photo session, I was out by 6pm! I really appreciate them both for making this work, especially when I took up an entire day. Ken and Kristie are the best, and I will travel back to LA the next time I'd like my hair done again. Thank you SO much again Ken and Kristie!

Yes one day in December 2018 I was looking for a new beauty salon to do a change of color on my hair, so me & my husband walked in and George the owner was in and he told my husband oh the Barber) shop is next door lol so I told him no it's for me so I showed him a of a balayage that I liked and he said we'll first I can't tell u it will come out the same but I can try so then we asked about how much he'll charge and he gave us a decent price, so he told me to come in the next day so then I asked him how much is the brizzillan blowout and he gave me a price. So ever since then I've been going to George he is a very honest person and he'll tell you what your hair needs to be healthy. Honestly my hair was damaged from dying it & to much prossing. She was at Salon Blue in Hacienda Heights and, after everyone else there disappointed me, I tried Gaby out and haven't stopped seeing her since. My mom and I go. We both have fine, thin hair. My mom's tends to be frizzy and mine usually lifeless and straight. My mom gets highlights and lowlights. I usually just get a cut/style and extensions. Color: sometimes it's a hit or miss but Gaby always fixes it. She will ask and ask and ask if that is how you want it. Cut: Once, like 4 years ago, she gave my mom too many layers and she looked like a mushroom head. We told her and it never happened again and now we laugh about it. I'm always happy with my cut. Again, she will ask and ask and ask if you're happy with it. She takes her time. Styling: she doesn't rush. She puts product in your hair, asks if you're going anywhere special that day, how you want it, if you want it straight or curled or blow dried full and voluminous, etc. If you're in a rush, she will get her team to surround you and there's like three curling irons on your head and you're out quick! Fast! Extensions: I AM SO HAPPY WITH EXTENSIONS FROM NEW LOOK SALON. I've had them sewn, braided in and glued. No matter what, they've always been great! And I've always gotten a very good deal on extensions. The best extensions are here. Atmosphere: It's right across the street from king taco. Yum! It's clean and Leti is always sweeping. All that to say that Gaby does a fantastic job with her clients and that you'll probably become her friend because she is so great at keeping New Look customers happy, feeling good and feeling pretty. I also explained that I had an important holiday event coming up, so timing was really crucial. I was so pleasantly surprised when she responded immediately and was able to fit me in the same day. Lyna was very transparent from the start. She let me know there was a $50 non-refundable deposit (which I was completely fine with) and also prepared me ahead of time that the appointment would be very long. Before even confirming, she asked for photos of my current hair along with inspiration pictures, which really showed how thorough and professional she is. After a few talkative hours, I walked out with my confidence fully restored. What a difference! I am beyond grateful and truly feel blessed to have found Lyna. She is a godsend. Not only is she incredibly skilled with color correction, treatments, and coloring services, but she is also the sweetest person and such a great listener & uses really great quality products such as Redken & Paul Mitchell brands. She made the entire experience so comfortable--snacks, Netflix, and a welcoming environment that made the long appointment fly by. I can honestly say I will be coming back to Lyna from now on.
