When I went, the store was closed but I heard a honk. To my surprise, it was Ann! She opened the door and explained to me that she went to do some errands due to a no show and I was able to fit in same day at the time I arrived. For cut, style, and wash, this was $40 either cash or Zelle to Ann. She told me that the number indeed is no longer valid and each of the hairstylists are contacted by their personal phone number to schedule appointments etc. I typically don't go to the same hairstylists unless if the price is cheap/ the person cuts well. Personally, $40 is a lot but I wasn't only give those services. Ann was the first hairstylist to ask me the temperature of the water I use to wash my hair since she noticed I have thinning hair. Even telling her I have genetic hair loss, she reassured me it can be combatted in some ways. I feel confident to come back to get my hair cut by Ann after my very first time here. Definitely out of my budget in some ways but where can you find this package for this price? I highly would recommend Ann! She's such a sweet person too!

First off, I just wanted to say that it was very easy to communicate with her. I was able to text her what I wanted-to dye my hair. Although my hair was bleached and created patchy areas for her to work with, Lisa managed to help my hair look super nice! While working on my hair, she was very communicative. She told me what was possible for my hair because I originally asked for a lighter color, but that wouldn't have worked since my hair was darker then. Not only that, but she worked with my already damaged hair and made sure not to damage it even more! Throughout the process, she talked to me about what she was going to do and had a conversation with me. At other places, the hair dressers are often quiet so this was a pleasant change for me. I had tried booking in January with another stylist, Gio, but our schedules didn't align. I had worked with Gio before at another hair salon in Berkeley and she is the sweetest! I found CS Beauty Salon through their Instagram page and was redirected to their online booking platform. I reached out to Carina first before booking, just to see if she was still accepting new clients. The appointment had been filled by the time she got back to me, but Carina was nice enough to squeeze me in for an appointment on another day, that same week. There is parking in the back of their building, but it looked a little tight to go through and there is a lot of oncoming traffic to turn into, so I just parked at Dollar Tree and walked over. The salon looks remodeled and everything is brand new and clean. I believe they opened about 3 years ago? There are complimentary snacks and a coffee bar for you to enjoy. Carina was easy to talk to and she is very friendly and welcoming. I appreciate her reaching out and communicating with me when she was running behind with her current client. My appointment included a wash, cut, and blow out; I opted for long layers and face framing. She did a great job and I'm very satisfied with my cut! She duplicated a Jane Fonda do from a photo perfectly. Sadly, it didn't make my 84 year old wrinkled wrinkles face look like Ms. Fonda's. I goofed asking her to make it shorter thinking to prolong the time between trims to save money. After a night's sleep on it, I couldn't duplicate the fabulous style. Next time I'll go with her first instinct also known as experience and expertise. She does a great job and is very enthusiastic and bubbly to boot. Noticing her glamorous long lovely do and red lipstick added to my trust even with my days to attempt glamour long past. The cost @ below $40 is probably pretty reasonable these days too. Those of us with naturally nappy hair know the value of finding a Black hair care specialist who is professional, punctual and won't burn your hair out! Best of all, Linda lives in Hercules so I no longer have to drive all the way to Oakland and deal with traffic and a lack of parking to get my hair done. Her prices are also very fair. I've been coming to her for relaxer treatments for a few months and each time my hair looks fantastic, and I even get a consultation about how to take better care of my hair. I'm also in and out of the appointment within 2-3 hours for a relaxer - it used to take 4-5 at other places I've been to. Another thing I like is that Linda doesn't try new things on clients without trying them out herself first. This means your hair will never become a failed experiment. I have been burned in the past by hairdressers trying out new perming products. Normally I have to wait two weeks to get an appointment with my old (also awesome) hairdresser in Oakland, but Linda usually sees me the same week that I call. My only complaint, which isn't a real complaint, is that she is only in the Salon Thursday through Saturday. That is not a problem for me but if I had some sort of hair emergency, like a job interview the next day, that might be a problem. Bottom line, Linda is awesome and I would recommend her to anyone in the East Bay.
