Conveniently located in downtown Providence, across the street from the Providence Performing Arts Center (good to be aware of this because my GPS was confused the first time I went!) They have a monthly subscription for facial threading, however you cannot cancel before six months. Regular eyebrow threading is $13. I arrived around 6:15p on a weekday, there was one employee inside and one client in front of me. The wait wasn't bad, they have calming music playing. My technician was efficient, she asked me what I wanted first and was very thorough taming my bushy eyebrows. She applied witch hazel at the end and the entire process took about 10-15 minutes. Do note that there is not tip line on the receipt, so be sure to bring cash! I walked here, so I can't vouch for parking, but I did notice a parking garage just up the street. I'll definitely make this my regular spot while I'm in Providence. read more

I scheduled a lash lift, botox and tint with the hopes of also having my eyebrows threaded. I paid a deposit of $20 for my appointment and was looking forward to it all week. Fast forward to 20 minutes before my appointment, my partner and I cannot find the place. I mean. We had GPS, I even called Salon Thread in the hopes they could send me in the sort of right direction? No help, so I got out and tried finding the place myself- my GPS drained my battery and I was lost in Providence without a phone. So 30 minutes into when my appointment was supposed to be started I finally get ahold of a charger, call Salon Thread back saying I should probably reschedule and I am met with an understandably frustrated Technician. I reschedule for the next day, until that morning I wake up to a text saying that she cannot do my 5pm appointment and to reschedule it at the Elmhurst Location? At this point I am frustrated and I no longer want the services as, I was hoping to have it all done for a brunch with my friends the following Friday morning. I ask for a refund, and get no response. I have Salon receptionist experience, and typically if there is a down-payment on a service and it is not provided, the client receives a refund. Not in this case. I'm writing this review on the principal that if I spend money on the service, I expect to have the service actually performed. It's only $20, but this is really shady practice. I have fairly thick eyebrows, waxing leaves my skin red for DAYS so I decided to try threading. Walking through downtown I came upon this salon. Based on the reviews I thought 'what the heck' and went in. The woman inside was very nice, she asked how I wanted them shaped and I had no idea so I asked to have them thinned out and shape as she felt appropriate. She asked me throughout if I was ok and apologized for any pain. It took at most 10 minutes and she was done. Doing exactly what I asked for! My skin was only red for a short period of time. They also have a frequent visitor card..10 visits, 1 free! I was very pleased and only hope that the next time I get it done (I'm an out of towner), i will be as satisfied. read more

I love this place! I had my eyebrows threaded and tinted and i had a gel mani and a pedi done. Ijat was great. She did an amazing job on everything and it was all so relaxing. The salon is extremely clean and welcoming. It's quiet and relaxing, not loud and overwhelming like a lot of salons. Definitely more of a spa vibe than a nail salon. While I really wanted to like this place because of it's convenient location downtown, they really messed up my left eyebrow. I think the threading was going okay, but she really got overzealous with the scissor trimming at the end and now the top of one of my eyebrows is super jagged/uneven and looks very strange. I will not be returning, but if you go here, I recommend you ask them to forgo the scissors. read more

I have been a member at Salon Thread for about 1.5 years and have had consistently good experiences. Because I work close to this location- I stopped by today for my bi-weekly appointment and was greeted with exceptional service. This location is fairly new but I already can see it will be their best store. First, the staff was fantastic! The woman who threaded my eyebrows was knowledgeable, incredibly precise and gentle. The receptionist was so friendly and polite, she even remembered my name from a previous encounter at their Elmhurst location! Second, the store is very well-kept and clean; there isn't a spot of dust. You can tell they take great pride in the neatness of their store and love their customers. They also offer manicure services here! Although I didn't personally try their nail services, I believe this is the only location which offers that. Also, I highly recommend getting their subscription; for a small monthly fee, you can get unlimited threading services- you really can't beat that. I go in every other week and can expect flawless eyebrows every time, at a fraction of the price I've paid elsewhere. I will absolutely make this my primary threading spot. read more
