I have been coming to salon thread for yearsss. They do a really good job, i think only 2 times I wasn't completely pleased after going, but thats over a 4 year course lol. It's always been hit or miss for me. I have been a member for over 10 years. I love it and then sometimes I hate it. I don't understand why every time I update my credit card they charge me so much. For my experience this week I had to renew my credit card and I got charged $29 because of my late payment... Understandable but before when I had to renew a credit card and it was not expired or any late payments, I would get charged in insane price. After being a little flustered of meeting to pay after being a member for so long, I felt like I was fully rushed and got cut! They made me bleed and made it seem like it was fault. she mentioned I have to keep holding my face tighter. (I can't go any tighter) I had mentioned over time I would have some scar tissue that everyone keeps opening over the years at this thread salon in the same spot from a prior injury. So why half ass it and rush when no one was in the store? Just frustrated with pain. I'm still going because conveniently it's near my home. read more

I was thrilled to see that this threading salon just opened right down the street (literally can walk there!). It beats having to go inside a crowded mall and pay for parking. While I've only been one time, I had a great experience. Eyebrows looked great and the threader was very fast and efficient. They also have a "membership" of sorts for $14.99. Unlimited threading for the month. While I'm not sure I'll need more than once a month, it's great to know I can go down any time and that it'll ultimately be cheaper than what I pay each time I go. Worst eyebrow job I have had. I get my eyebrows threaded all the time and I have never been in so much pain. The girl doing my eyebrows clearly did not know how to thread and caused me pain and a small cut. My eyebrows were also left un-even- one was shorter than the other. I liked this place - I've been going here for 3+ years. They recently raised their monthly membership from $15 to $17 a month, which is crazy considering there are so many threading places in Providence that still offer a $15 membership. Once, I lost my credit card and I had to close it, so it was denied when my monthly membership needed to be charged. Because of this they charged me an extra $10 to add a new card to my file. The women who thread at this location are fine. I usually go during the weekend because that's when their best threaders are working. If you go during the week, you'll get someone with not as much experience and they'll take forever to do your eyebrows, only for them to come out uneven. Overall, I don't love this location because they don't seem to value customer loyalty. I mainly come here for convenience. Not all of the threaders are great - it's honestly a hit or miss depending on who you get. Since they raised their membership, I may start experimenting with other businesses that still offer cheaper memberships. An extra $2 isn't a lot but why come here if you can go to a better place in the area for a cheaper rate? read more

UPDATE: The owner, Shally, I saw my review and contacted me within two hours of me posting it. She was very gracious and apologetic and wanted the opportunity to fix the mistake with my lashes. I went back this morning, and I could not be happier with the outcome. These were the lashes that I thought I would have got yesterday. So glad I gave them a second chance! I'm upgrading my review from three stars to five because of the way the situation was handled. Thank you for valuing me as a client. So this review covers a couple of things. I usually go to the Smith Street location. I think I prefer that location although parking is hit or miss. I never have to wait very long and my eyebrows are always perfect! Unfortunately today I tried the temporary eyelashes as well the threading. Threading is always was just what I wanted. However, the eyelashes are absolutely horrible. I went to the hillside location because the girl does lashes wasn't at the Smith Street location. As sweet as she was, her work ended up making me look like a drag queen. I had them on a total of three hours before I ended up ripping them off. Losing my natural eyelashes in the process as well. But I was prepared for that. They were too heavy, had too much glue, are way too thick (I asked for a natural look), and they did not extend all the way from end to end of my lash line. I will continue to go back for threading but never for lashes again. Unfortunately I was warned that if I did not like them, I could not get my money back. The lady seemed nice but wouldn't get a wax here ever again. Very unsanitary room with filthy wax machine and poor lighting. The woman blew on the wax to cool it down and put the strips on the dirty table I was asked to sit on. Really not one to leave bad review but this was pretty bad. read more

Terrible service, literally ripped out my brow follicles, (I shed a few tears). Threader did the exact opposite of what was asked. I asked just too have my eyebrows cleaned, and she threaded off a good amount of my brows, too the point both of my brows are way too skinny and completely uneven. I only came because my originally threading place was completely booked for the day. I refused to pay for their service, but the threader was not trying to refund me for her work. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was so furious that I had to cancel my date!!! read more

I used to love this place. Then they started cycling the workers too much and it is often someone new. Worst of all they kept finding ways to upcharge me. First I lost my card and they charged me the old month and new month which I totally understand but added a $10 activation fee. Then my wife was sent a new card because hers expired another $10 activation fee. Now I got a card with a chip and they are telling me even though all the numbers are the same I once again have to pay a $10 fee. They just lost two subscriptions over $10. Worst business plan ever. Not to mention their best threading girl started her own business elsewhere and that many different locations have similar plans. I am gone right now and never coming back read more

Don't ever get a subscription. They won't let you cancel it. My girlfriend tried calling 3 separate times to cancel her subscription and told her they'd work on it and hung up. When we drove into the place we were greeted with attitude and only one employee. This place is completely unprofessional and slow. They only have one person working at a time and no one to answer phone calls. We waited 25 minutes in the store to cancel our subscription. Be warned. read more

I've come here a total of 3 times and really enjoyed it every single time! I was new to threading and even slightly scared to try it out, but since I saw they had a Yelp special I thought why not! And I'm so glad I did! The lady who usually accommodates me is great! Don't bother getting a facial here. Nice enough people, but the facial was OK. They apply the various cleansers, scrubs, and other face stuff over your whole face including on top of your eyelids and mouth, so you end up getting stuff in your eyes and your mouth. Then they really don't clean your face well, you are left with particles everywhere. Not worth the 30 to 60 dollars. Go elsewhere. read more

Went in to wax a bunch of stuff, but only ended up doing my armpits because the waxer was unexperienced. The upper legs, she was having trouble keeping the skin taut and reused the same pad for the whole area. I just stopped her 1/4 of the way through because it wasn't worth it. And then she did my armpits, which should have been easy as there was good growth, but nope. Also really did not seem clean -- it was like waxing on a budget. Would not recommend, though I feel bad for the girl. Go elsewhere. read more

This place is a ripoff. I have been a member for almost two years. Last summer I was traveling abroad when I lost my credit card. When I got back I went to thread and they made me pay a re activation fee even though I explained that I was out of the country. Then last week my bank cancelled my card because one of the places I used the card had been hacked. As soon as my new card was activated I went to thread and once again they demanded a reactivation fee!! My old card had been a active when they charged my account for this month. My explanation was ignored by them. As a customer for almost 2 years I find this inconsistent with business ethics. To charge fees for circumstances that a customer cannot control is not right. read more

Awesome experience! Today was my first time at Thread salon and I am very pleased and will be going back. I got my eyebrows and lip done, and used the $5 for $10 voucher from Yelp (which covered the cost of the eyebrows, the lip was $7.) My eyebrows had not been shaped in a long time (I was trying to grow their previous bad shaping out, somewhat unsuccessfully) and there was quite a bit of hair to remove. Thread has 3 threading stations. It is somewhat small but is immaculately clean and on a rainy, blustery day it was warm and comfortable as soon as I walked through the door. Their background music was very relaxing. I had no wait on an early Saturday afternoon. No problems using my voucher although it took an extra few minutes for them to process it. Gory (I'm sure the spelling is wrong, I'm sorry!) took care of me. It seemed as though she was new and they were training her, but she was amazing, gentle and precise, and made it as painless as possible. Again, I am a baby with pain, and although threading always hurts me, this was one of the more painless experiences I've had. It took her a bit longer, but she was well supervised by another employee (who spoke in the most gentle, calming, unobtrusive way) and the end result was beautiful and very clean. They are perfectionists in the best way possible. I'm not sure yet if I'll be purchasing the monthly membership--I live across town so it's a bit of a hike--but you better believe if I lived nearby I would be on that. Totally worth it. I left and immediately texted my sister to recommend this place, and I'll be doing a lot more recommending, and visiting, in the future. read more

They have the best customer service and I always leave the place promising to return back, and I always do. I have been here since they are open. My eyebrows always look amazing. Their membership is so affordable, I get my eyebrows and lips done and I utilize every penny of my membership efficiently, lol. All of the employees do a great job here. Of the multiple times I've been there, I'd say only one of the girls was actually good, but almost everytime I called to get her, she'd be in the Worcester location. I have been a customer of Salon Thread for a little more than a year when they only had the Pawtucket location. Once the owners opened a second location in Providence it has been my second home. The $14.99 monthly membership is a no brainer. You get unlimited threading for $14.99! Can't beat that and the service is friendly, professional and exceptional! My eyebrows are shaped perfectly each time. The salon is clean and well decorated with comfortable waiting areas.
