Not the same since Gina sold to New owners. Got a full set that was so bad I had to remove. Went back got UV gel said by owners "aunt" on Thursday. By Sunday 3 tips had separated and had water in between gel and tip..2 tips were intact when entire uv gel nail popped to feel wet . Thank God I found it before fungus set in. This place does a fine job on a mani pedi. I have been coming every 2-3 weeks for about six months. I stopped going to the last place because the nail technician I last had was too rough. I had been looking for a nail tech with consistency, patience and can do a lot of hand eye techniques. I finally came to magic nails and came across Lily who goes above and beyond to please her clients. Super sweet and takes her TIME. She is very attentive and will do basically anything you show her via picture or does really good free hand art. I've tried other locations in the providence area but so far she has been the best one yet! First time going and will be the last time! Manicure was very rushed, nails all different lengths, polish very messily applied. When asked to pay was told $15, when I gave a $20 bill was given back only $2 asked why and was told $18 for manicure.......WHAT?!!!! Definitely will not be going back there. read more

Wow. What a time I had here today. For starters... I'm out and about, enjoying the sunny day and wanting to get myself a manicure. I typically do my own nails, but I felt like treating myself. I was especially looking forward to the nice little hand/arm massage that comes along with it. I was greeted promptly and seated right away. I chose my shellac color and the nail tech started right away. There was no conversation to be had, until I noticed after she was done painting my nails that she hadn't painted the entire nail on each hand. She only painted about 3/4 of the nail; the bottom near the cuticle was still showing my natural nail. After pointing this out, she fusses about it for a few minutes and then repaints my nails using a paintbrush to ensure precision this time around. The girl sitting next to me has also had shellac done; her nails have dried and her nail tech proceeds to lotion her up and rub her down. I've now been sitting there for about 45 minutes. My nails finally dry and they look okay, not great. She tells me it's $25 and that I'm all set. At that point, I was really unsatisfied with the entire experience that I said ef the massage, just get me out of here. She received a $2 tip, which was generous in my mind. Other nail techs seemed pleasant enough, or at least better than the one that I had. I wish I had her name. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to Magic Nails ever again. Ever. read more

Tried this place for the first time because it was close to my school. The reviews seemed promising. I went for acrylics, oval shape. The woman who did my nails seemed to not understand and ended up giving me thick, square nails. I told her they seemed uneven and not what I wanted. She then said it was my nails that were crooked...they aren't. Then she gave me attitude and seemed to not want to fix them, then insisted I signed the receipt before she even fixed them. I've been going to Magic Nails for 7 years and I only use other nail salons if I'm traveling and absolutely have to. I go at least once a month for a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax and I refuse to get my eyebrows done anywhere else! The staff is friendly, there is never a super long wait although I do try to make an appointment when possible and they do a great job! I have had gel done for the past few times and I love the way it comes out. Prices are pretty average, a regular mani pedi is 35 and my eyebrows are 10. I've bitten my nails since I was a kid and I've decided it's (past) high time I stop. I've discovered that my perfectionistic streak prevents me from destroying manicures, so I'm embarking on a quest to find the best nail salon in Greater Providence. My brother married his sweetheart this weekend, so I decided that last Wednesday was as good a time as any to get my first manicure in over a year. I chose Magic Nails due to its closeness to my mom's house and its relatively good reviews. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I made the appointment for both of us, but when I arrived I was seated at the pedicure station and my mom was started on her manicure. We could talk, but certainly not quietly, and especially not when my pedicurist was on her cellphone (for awhile). I realized after she painted the first nail that I didn't like the color, so I asked if I could pick something else - she was clearly annoyed by this, and I felt bad, but I'm sure it happens sometimes, right? The rest of the pedicure was fine. Nothing to get excited about. I asked for the same color (the second one, I mean!) on my fingernails, but she didn't bring it with her to the manicure table - a fact I discovered after she'd painted my right hand. She insisted it was the same, but my mom went over to the foot bath area and found it. Again, the nail tech was clearly annoyed. When she was done, I looked closely at my nails and realized they weren't completely covered - but by this point I didn't want to annoy her any further. My mom was pleased with her manicure - her tech was really sweet - but I was disappointed. Prices were fine, but I won't go back. The quest for the best nail salon continues. For an easy and relatively cheap mani/pedi ($45 with French), you don't really get any better than Magic Nails. It is clean, the staff are nice and efficient, and it is clean. I only do regular polish here, but they offer acrylics and gels. No shellac. They take appointments, but usually not too long a wait for walk ins! Signs say 'no tips on cards' but they let you write in a tip if you don't have cash! read more

Tried this salon for the first time a few weeks ago. I got a dip powder manicure & my nails looked great leaving but started cracking a few days later which I'm not used to. But the main reason I won't be back is because at no point in my manicure were my cuticles cleaned up. More like a polish change. Not impressed. I needed a fill and to trim my coffin-shape nails down and reshape - theyre so cut down theyre almost sport length - not flattering nor true to the shape. Since I liked my nail color enough, I asked to do the same color on my toes - just polish. I was told all together would be one price ($43, $33 fill, $10 toes), I was charged another at the desk ($58). $25 for JUST gel polish? I didnt get the soak, cuticle care, scrub, and no gel removal involved. The most basic of basic.... $25 for a 5 minute gel polish application and a small nail clip? NO THANKS. read more

I got a gel manicure and it cost $25 which I very reasonable compared to other salons I've been to. I made my appointment and they took me on time. My pedicure was very relaxing and made me feel so pampered! The technicians were so sweet and very accommodating to my needs.
