I'm not sure what the other reviewers were were expecting. This is my first visit here and besides the wait and a slight miscommunication, I didn't have a problem at all. Work is very comparable to some of the high-end salons. It's definitely a self entertained kind of place. For the price that you're getting ($25 pedicure), were you expecting champagne as well? Too loud? Judy wanted to relax. They didn't rub your back and say "it's going to be OK", grow up! It's not the kind of place. If you want relaxation, you go to high-end salons and pay $50 for a pedicure or more! Let's be serious. Have you heard the saying "you get what you pay for?" You guys sound real silly! Bottom line? They are quick, they are clean, The tools are clearly sanitized and sealed, the pedicure chairs are amazing, they do good work, and I saved a lot of money from my last pedicure. I made an appointment for 3, when we arrived we had to wait and were attended at separate times. We were patient, regardless, but were still met with rude attitude from the main who sits at the front desk directly under the sign "red nails and spa". He was working on my mothers nails when she asked if he could file her nails down a bit. He said no and I noticed from where I was sitting that he was being loud and stood up to talk to his teammates. Since she has a language barrier, I helped explain what she needs and he said no he doesn't want to file her nails down before painting them. I asked why, if she hadn't asked for literally anything else the entire time and was very patiently waiting for a long time after her original appointment time. He made it clear that he knows how to do it but still doesn't want to do it. The whole room was silent after I verbally confirmed "you know what she wants and can do it, but you just don't want to do it" and he said no, someone else can do it. We gracefully moved her stuff over and another nail tech offered to finish the job for her, and apologized for his behavior. We were very kind customers, obviously paying customers, and deserved to be treated fairly and with kindness. Whatever you do, don't sit at his table. He doesn't do a good job and he's extremely rude. Only work with the women. read more

I have been going to Red Nails for years. After my experience today, I will never return. The nail tech KHEY KHEY (kk) was extremely rude. She was not interested in doing my nails at all. I showed her a simple photo of burgundy nails with a cat eye tip. She didn't even look at the photo and said "NO I don't know how to do that." I pointed out that one nail was not put on correctly and she seemed frustrated that I pointed it out. It's unacceptable to treat your customers this way especially when they are spending so much money. It took everything in me to keep my composure. I really wanted to stop doing my nails and leave. I am only giving two star because of how nice my nail tech was and because the pedicure was good. Sam was a sweetheart very well informed about the area as I am new to the area but she can not do nails. I have never left a nail salon with such horrible nails. Every single nail is a different shape, the dip is lumped up in certain places and missing in others. I mean my husband who thinks they always look great even when I see flaws saw my nails and was like you paid for that. I can tell she will have potential in other year or so of practice but not at the expense of paying customers she should stick to the feet and practice dip on her coworkers. Ive been doing my nails at this place for the past 6 months, I did dipping power last Friday (Sep29) with a guy Bunran Measn, $80 with $20 tips, when I arrived home i noticed that he did the dipping smaller then my nails. I came back today (Monday Oct2), the manager said they could fix charging for. She said that the job was done good but if it fells like I didn't like it, I had to pay. I made an appointment with a great nail artist, and when I got to the location I had walked in here. (Where I was supposed to be was next door). I walked in, said my name, and that I had an appointment for 12. Which I didn't have with this business because I was in the wrong location. Instead of saying literally anything else, they said yes and took me in anyway. So then they asked what I wanted which I replied I already showed the design to the artist I was thinking I was seeing. I showed it anyway and then she told me itd be $85. I said I already had a $25 deposit on my nails down and then said the original cost was $65. So by this point I was already irritated, plus they were unnecessarily rough with my hands. So I luckily messaged the nail artist who told me I was in the wrong spot and who was also mad that they really tried to poach me and ignored the fact I was obviously not supposed to be there. So I said hey I'm in the wrong place, can we stop. Then the mail artist working on me sighed unnecessarily and proceeded to talk to everyone else in the place for five minutes. She cut my long nails, then filed them harshly so my actual artist had to fix it and then cost me $10 for the shitty experience. ANYWAYS, go to @nyt.nails on instagram for your nails. I went to this salon because it's down the street from my new apartment and a coworker of mine also goes here. I asked for dip with tips and there's nothing wrong with the shape or color it's very cute but my issue is I've had dip done numerous time's at different salons and I always pick colors with lots of glitter. The other salons always put a clear dip coat over the glitter so that it's not uneven and jagged this salon put clear gel top coat over the glitter and it is so rough and uncomfortable to have on my nails. I'm not sure if this salon doesn't know how to do dip properly but I'm very unhappy with the way my nails are right now. read more

The reviews sold me and my sister on a good mani pedis for a decent price. However, we had some issues. They took us despite being a few minutes late for our appointment on a busy night but that's about the extent of their hospitality. The nail tech I had was so rough, despite communicating "I have sensitive nail cuticles" as a hint to calm down. I ended up with 7 nails between my feet and hands with BLEEDING cuticles. Never in my life has this happened! The pedicure came out visibly nice but was uncomfortable and resulted in bleeding toes. Some of the nails were filed crooked, however I did not notice this until after I had left- I would have politely asked to have that fixed. It was definitely not a luxurious or even comfortable pedicure, although at even most bargain salons I have had pedicures with hot stones, hot oils, scrubs, etc... None of that happened here. The pedicure tubs were clearly not sanitized although the tools seemed to be. I got a gel manicure for my hands, also resulting in painful, bleeding nail beds despite my polite hinting. Multiple employees were eating, texting, and complaining about their jobs and boss right in front of me and to me. I'm not one to complain or be a difficult customer after my many years in customer service... But the mood changing gel polish I chose was splotchy and uneven besides my nail Tech's best efforts to fix it with FOUR coats. I politely asked to change the polish and she agreed frustratingly. After a soak, and a violent scrape of polish from my nail beds, she repainted them a different polish-- and then the manager tried to charge me an extra $10 for the Tech's time. It wasn't the color that I just decided I didn't like, but after four coats of gel it still looked splotchy and uneven. Neither the tech, or myself were at fault for this. Overall a miserable and painful experience... I didn't expect luxery but I did at least expect to leave the salon in one piece. If you're looking for a decent mani pedi at a basic salon--- well this is not the place for you. read more

Very, very small space, totally packed in like sardines, way too many people inside that small nail space at the same time, and the staff constantly speaking in their native language to each other the entire time you are in there. I originally went in for a full set and they came out great . When it was time for a fill , I went in and almost every nail was crooked. Worst nail salon i have ever been to. Dirty looking, workers are unprofessional, and they do an awful job. Got my gel nails done less than a week ago and they are all lifting and peeling, they have a brown tint to them when my nails are supposed to be pink, it looks like ombré. My sister was getting her acrylics removed and the man was filing so hard and carelessly and not paying attention and split her REAL nail completely in half and then glued it back together. I highly encourage you to not go bere, there are many many better places on Mineral Spring that do a good job for the same price. read more

My friend recommended me this place and I went with Phanny (Pan-Ni). Let me tell you, I found the best nail tech in RHODE ISLAND. I have done A LOT of trial and error. Phanny asked me what I wanted and she gave me just that. I never paint my nails but she cleaned them up (I suffer from hangnails) and took off any gel from previous manicure. This is the FIRST time I show a salon a picture and they got it exactly spot on. She did exactly what I asked for without judgement or suggestions . I've been to this nail salon 3 times, and I'm never going back. The first time, I came in as a walk in and I got KK as my nail tech. She did a great job and the young women there were talking and having a good time. It was actually kind of fun. I did get charged $5 extra for them to remove the powder dip I had done somewhere else, which I thought was unusual, but no big deal. Second time, I called and asked for KK, got in right away as it was a midweek morning. Again, great job on my nails and fun environment. Third time, I called ahead for KK on a Friday afternoon, they said come in 30 minutes. I got there and the place was packed. KK was servicing another client, so a different tech removed my gel mani. When she was done, I still had to wait a few minutes for KK. So when KK was ready, she cut and filed my nails but didn't ask what shape I wanted. When she was done filing, I told her I wanted them more rounded. So she filed them again, but there were two nails that were still not shaped how I wanted so I asked her to fix them. And then she tried to hand me the nail file. That's when I should have gotten up and walked out, but instead I laughed it off. So after she reshaped the nail, and I'm looking at them, she tells me I can file it myself if I want. Again, I probably should have just left, but I let her know she did an acceptable job, and I let her continue. Moments later, she's speaking to her coworkers in another language and I very clearly hear her say "OCD." Then she has the nerve to turn to me and ask me if I know what OCD means because people keep telling her she's OCD. As if she wasn't just talking shit about the customer sitting right in front of her. I was so done I probably would have walked out if she hadn't already started painting my nails. And also, I had a job interview in less than 2 hours. Anyway, then she tries to play nice and make conversation, but I really was done. I let her finish, but I will never step foot in that nail salon again. I can't understand how people think it's ok to be so rude to their customers. Also, the station I sat at was right next to the sink. While I was sitting there, I saw another employee washing nail tools with soap and water and dry them with paper towel, then put them in one of those little packages that you see them coming out of after they're sanitized. Don't know what she did with them after that. Just wondering if that's how you prep them for sanitizing, or...? read more

So last night I went here for a gel mani pedi and they lady said $25 for hands and $25 for feet. Everyone can agree this is $50 right? Ok, well I was charged $65. Why? Because the lady said oh no the gel pedicure is $40... I just called pretending to be someone else and the gentleman said $50 for gel mani pedi. Clearly, this lady overcharged me. I usually go to tip top nails. But due to the long wait I decided to try red nails. The location was convenient and the service was good. The atmosphere was nice and clean as well. For an acrylic fill they charged me 15$ which is what I usually pay. They did an average job on my nails. I asked for a coffin shape and they came out more square than I hoped for. The top coat they put on me dried a little bumpy which is annoying but overall I probably would come back just for convince sake. read more

I never had a Yelp acct prior to this encounter but felt compelled to make one to share how disappointed I was about this encounter! Unbeknownst to me the management of this establishment changed recently. When I walked in the atmosphere was different but some of the faces remained similar so I proceed to have a color change and pedicure, as I was going to a wedding the next day. I arrived at 645 for my appt the previous day. My pedicure was mediocre at the least, the woman next to me was still being worked on when my pedicure was finished and I met her there getting a pedicure. My gel nails initially looked okay but chipped within less than 2 hours after leaving the shop. When I was getting my nails done the young woman doing my nails stated "I've been waiting for this call all day do you mind if I take it"? I said sure, she was on the phone with an inmate at the ACI and she wasn't paying proper attention to my nails. I actually could careless about her phone conversation if she wasn't talking recklessly or being inappropriate. Upon leaving I didn't recall her placing a finishing/top coat on my toes so I asked her if she did and she repeat yes I did and I said I don't remember you doing so but she dismissed me. The next day, TODAY, literally 30 mins before I downloaded this app I went in to see the manager explained my disappointment, she offered to fix me nails and I told her I'm going to a wedding in 15-20mins and need to go get ready so I cannot even have them fixed and the only reason I had my nails done was specifically for this event. She just kept saying I can fix for you, but wasn't comprehending that I could not wait nor could I do them at that moment. I showed her my nails and she said some polishes take longer to dry so maybe you smudged them when you put your shoes on, I explained to her I went home with sandals and put sandal on when I got home. I further shared with her that I was in the shop for over and hour! How long could it possibly take for the polish to dry....she didn't have an answer. That experience was terrible, A younger man was twerking in the shop that evening as well it just felt like a club and not an establishment, the workers were talking about going to get drunk at each other's house, conversation that patrons just, in my opinion, don't want to hear and is unprofessional. In the end I left the establishment frustrated this morning and now I'm attending this wedding with my toes looking a mess and my nails chipped! I was better off not even getting them done. I usually hop around to different nail salon only because of work and availability so I'll get my nails done wherever always hoping for best.
