It's very hard for me to find a stylist who understands, and can manage, my hair type. It's thick, but not super coarse. It's curly. It's a lot. And I have a lot of empathy for the women and men who have had to try to work miracles on it throughout the years. But where many have failed (despite valiant efforts) this unassuming, affordable little salon has CONSISTENTLY nailed cuts for my hair type. I saw Lana for awhile until she moved on. When I went to see Hailey, I was nervous, because I've historically had to REALLY negotiate the laws of physics with stylists new to my hair to achieve even remotely what I want in a cut. Hailey just took one look at my hair and said "This is gonna be so fun," and that's when I knew that lightning would strike twice and it did. I went from long, thick, wavy hair to a really cute french bob that hits in ALL the right places because Hailey knows what she's doing. They all do, as far as evidence suggests. I've never had a bad cut here. There is something about this modest and unassuming location that attracts really master stylists. My hair is troublesome and I've NEVER had a bad cut in this little salon. Not a single one. And bonus, after you're done, you can go get some incredible corned beef next door :D

We arrived about an hour and a half before they closed and the manager told us to come back in 30 minutes because there were only 2 techs left for the night. We came back and they brought us back to the chairs and had our feet soak. We ended up waiting another half hour there. I'm very grateful they squeezed us in as walk-ins without having made an appointment. The manager's husband ended up chatting with us for about 20 minutes while we were waiting and he was so sweet! Our pedicures themselves were good. I got gel on my toes and we both got the Classic Pedicure. The nail polish was neat and clean and hasn't peeled yet. The pedicure itself (not including polish) only lasted 15 minutes which was a little disappointing after waiting so long. Maybe they were rushing because at that point it was about 30 mins to close, but I would've appreciated some more time for the actual service. Overall, it was still a great experience and I appreciated the hospitality and friendliness. Four stars because of our wait time, but still an enjoyable experience!

My immediate thought was what if this happened to someone else and they had a bloodborne disease- it's just unsanitary and it's good to maybe use a lower setting or be careful with these tools. As I tried to appeal, she treated me like she was doing me a favor by offering only 50% charge. I asked her if I had been in an accident and couldn't make my appointment if they would charge me. She said no. I asked if I could speak with a manager and there were none available. I mentioned that I was not a "repeat offender", and this was important to me to be there for my husband. She reluctantly said that JUST THIS ONCE they would not charge me. She definitely had the power to help me if she wanted to. And as I walked out the door close to tears, she replied with, "Have a good one!" I am not blaming this young women, but this is not the kind of salon I need. My 93 year old mother was a hair stylist and owner of a salon for over 40 years. Her clients were family to her. She attended many of her client's funerals over the year. A man working asked if I had an appointment (which I did not) and said they were full with appointments until late in the afternoon. He was kind enough to squeeze me in for a dip polish change and I was ecstatic! My nails look fabulous and I was super grateful that they were able to take my walk-in even though they were busy. The lady who did my nails fixed one of my broken thumbs (crisis diverted) and the total for the dip polish pre-tip was $41.
