A group of my family and I came in for blowouts before the wedding, and unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I've had in all my years as a member. To make matters more frustrating, we originally had five appointments scheduled for 11:00 AM. That morning, the salon called and asked if we could move one of the appointments to 10:30 AM. We explained that we were all traveling together from the hotel and would do our best to get there earlier. We arrived at 10:35 AM, but despite accommodating their request, some members of our party were not even taken until 11:45 AM. By the time we finally left, it was almost 1:00 PM, which created unnecessary stress on an already important day. I was very clear about what I wanted: volume, lots of curls, and enough hairspray to ensure the style would last through the wedding and reception. Instead, the stylist never once used a curling iron initially. She put my hair in rollers and did a significant amount of teasing that left my hair looking like I had simply woken up with bed head. I didn't realize how bad the back looked because, of course, I couldn't see it, but my family did and immediately said, "We can't let you leave like that." We politely asked her to please fix it. She clearly seemed annoyed by the request and had a noticeable attitude about it. When she attempted to fix it, she curled my hair straight under rather than curling it back away from my face and toward the back of my head, which is how I've always had it done. By the time she took the pinned curls down, I looked like Shirley Temple. She then started teasing it again the same way she had the first time, which only made it worse. This was for a very special family wedding, and instead of feeling confident and excited, I left feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and had to go home and hurry to redo my hair. As someone who has been a loyal Barfly member for years, I was incredibly disappointed. I've always trusted Drybar, which is why this experience stood out so negatively. I wanted to bring this to your attention because this level of service was far below what I've come to expect from your brand. time at which point I asked her to please stop and that I needed to just go home and try to fix this myself. One of the other stylists even looked at me and apologize because she knew how bad it looked. the receptionist or manager I'm not sure what she was, was no help and was unbothered by the entire situation. I had to go home and redo my entire hair and was tight on time for the wedding as a result. If you are going to hire a stylist, please make sure they know what they're doing. Ironically, we had three more family members at the other DryBar in Palm Beach because we couldn't all get in at the same place at the same time. As we left our appointment, we received a message from that group at how upset one of them was at the up-do they were given. I have a video of that that I'm putting here. This family member went home and showered and redid their hair as well. I don't know if this is a problem in the Palm Beach area or a horrible coincidence. EMPLOYEES & CLIENTS -- PLEASE READ BEFORE WORKING HERE OR BOOKING HERE…read more After working at Drybar West Palm Beach for almost THREE YEARS, I can confidently say I would NEVER recommend working for this location under owner Whitney Salazar. I also believe clients deserve to know what has been happening behind the scenes. When I was hired, I was promised $12/hour, a raise after one year, PLUS commission on extensions, add-on services, memberships, etc. Nearly three years later, I have NEVER received that promised raise. Even worse, multiple employees -- myself included -- have repeatedly found MISSING COMMISSIONS AND/OR HOURS on our paychecks. This was not something that happened once. We noticed discrepancies over a period of MONTHS. And somehow, despite working MORE hours, taking on MORE responsibilities, and helping this salon through some of its busiest periods, I began making LESS money. But the paycheck issues are only part of the problem. During my time here, I personally witnessed multiple stylists working who were not licensed cosmetologists. Experienced senior stylists were then expected to help train them, correct services, and deal with angry clients when services did not meet expectations. There were days when clients were so unhappy that they refused to leave until their hair was corrected. Who had to step away from their own paying clients to fix it? THE EXPERIENCED STYLISTS. That meant our own appointments were pushed 15-20+ minutes behind, and then WE were left dealing with frustrated clients because the salon was running late. The salon was also CONSTANTLY overbooked while we were not being provided with the basic tools and products necessary to actually do our jobs. At one point, we went an extended period with extremely limited essential salon products and supplies. Imagine being expected to provide professional blowouts without consistently having the shampoo, styling products, and tools you need -- while clients understandably expect the service they PAID FOR. Our manager repeatedly tried to get supplies ordered. Meanwhile, stylists were literally LEAVING THE SALON WHILE ON SHIFT TO PURCHASE PRODUCTS WITH THEIR OWN MONEY just so we could properly service clients. And when clients were unhappy because we didn't have what we needed? THE STYLISTS TOOK THE BLAME. Our tips suffered. Our schedules suffered. Our income suffered. And somehow the people working the hardest were expected to continue smiling and carrying the salon. What makes this even more disappointing is that West Palm Beach became incredibly busy under newer management. Our manager worked hard to build community relationships and bring traffic into the salon, and many of us senior stylists worked overtime, stayed beyond our scheduled shifts, trained others, fixed services, helped keep clients happy, and did FAR beyond what should have been expected of us. We did it because we cared about our manager, our clients, our coworkers, and the reputation of the salon. But eventually, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You cannot expect loyalty from employees while failing to properly compensate them. You cannot promise raises and commissions and then have employees repeatedly questioning where their money is. You cannot overbook a salon, fail to consistently provide the products and tools needed to perform services, and then leave your stylists to absorb the backlash from unhappy clients. And you absolutely should not put experienced professionals in the position of constantly cleaning up problems that could have been prevented with proper hiring, staffing, training, and management from ownership. Some of us gave YEARS to this salon. We trained people. We stayed late. We worked extra shifts. We dealt with angry clients. We bought supplies ourselves. We pushed through being overbooked. We worked without the resources we needed. We watched our income decrease while our workload increased. WE ARE TIRED. I am speaking solely from MY experience and what I personally witnessed during my employment. After almost three years, I have completely lost trust in the ownership of this location. So, to anyone considering employment here: ASK QUESTIONS. Get your promised pay, commissions, raises, and responsibilities IN WRITING. CHECK EVERY PAYCHECK. TRACK EVERY HOUR. TRACK EVERY SERVICE, MEMBERSHIP, EXTENSION, AND ADD-ON YOU SELL. And to clients: if you've ever wondered why your stylist was running behind, seemed overwhelmed, didn't have a particular product available, or had to stop what they were doing to fix someone else's service -- please understand that there may have been MUCH more happening behind the scenes than you realized. Then she still required me to book a consultation appointment which she labeled a "transfer client." Additionally, her system required me to pay in full via credit card in order to have the appointment confirmed. The consultation consisted of her wetting my hair, drying it and looking at my scalp and hair. For the consultation I paid more than I usually pay for loc maintenance. I was hesitant to book the repair appointment because my first impression of the salon was not a good one. The salon was untidy, disorganized and unclean/unsanitary looking. Since Trina seemed to be knowledgeable about hair care and locs, I booked the appointment for loc repair. I specifically asked for additional hair to be woven into my locs to re-enforce or strengthen the loc. When I came for the repair appointment it was only after she had started and was into the service did I realize she had no hair to add. She simply combined some locs with others to strengthen them. I was there for a total of 6 hours for her to do work that other locticians would accomplish in 1-1/2 to 2 hours! Additionally, she didn't have finishing paper to smooth down the hairline edges. On top of all this, she charged more that twice what others would charge for similar or the same service. After about a month my hair looks exactly as it did before she did my hair. I'm still seeking someone to repair my damaged locs!! She is personable and we had a nice conversation but if you want great service at a reasonable price, my advise is to look somewhere else. Perhaps Trina is better suited to teach about hair care than to perform hair service.

Trina and Neisha worked in concert to create the most relaxing cool vibe that I think everyone could appreciate. We made the appointment a couple of days later and she got the time right to the T. I can be tender headed and she constantly made sure that I was doing alright and checked if I need a break. It had been 7 months since I have last gotten my hair resisted because hairdresser/locticion moved away and I couldn't find a place that was comfortable with. I am soOo lucky to have found Loc'd Perfection and the thought of finding a Master Locticion that knows anything and everything about locks gives me sooo much comfort and I can now relish in peace of knowing that my hair will be cared for by Master Locticion with seemingly infinite knowledge.
