My girlfriend and I were traveling out of state and had to get a COVID test to go home, which took about an hour longer than we'd anticipated, forcing us to cancel a reservation at another place that was closing sooner than we would get there. After some deliberation, we decided to get something in the same vein close to where we got the test done. Enter Sal's by Victor, and we couldn't be more satisfied if we'd planned the whole thing out. We did takeout and had to drive nearly an hour back to our Airbnb, but it was still all (mostly) hot and tasted amazing! We couldn't finish everything and are looking forward to leftovers tomorrow (including a piece of cake!), so our hats are off to the staff and the chef! Best Italian food I've ever had hands down! The owner greeted us as if we were old friends and continued to check up on our food and experience throughout the entire meal. We ordered a bottle of red wine to split after a free tasting upon walking in. We then had the incredible burrata appetizer. Followed by the seafood ravioli as the main course. Both of which were incredibly rich and made-from-scratch. We finished the meal with the best tiramisu I have ever had. The lady fingers were perfectly moist in the fresh espresso and covered in creamy mascarpone. Don't miss out if you love authentic Italian! We will be back! read more

Party of 10 no problem 6:30 Thursday evening. Meatballs and pasta, pizza chicken parm heros, salmon all nicely done. One shrimp scampi was told not so tasty. Service was good. We are from NYC and Italians as well so consider this review as authentic. I would say, food alone just under 4 stars however the entire visit was a solid 4 star. We have heard nothing but great things about this place so we decided to go. The service was horrible, the waiter hardly came to the table. Drinks were not refilled , He walked away in the middle of us ordering. We ordered appetizers that came out after our meal. When the meals did come out they came out one at a time with time in between so we were not all eating at the same time. Very disappointing. I picked up a pizza which I ordered over the phone. I had the order taker read it back to me and corrected her when she got it wrong the first time. When I picked it up the order was wrong and at that point I didn't want to wait 20 minutes for them to redo it. I paid for it and complained to the cashier at the carry out window. Her response - "It's hard to get good help these days". For the life of me, I can't find out why that should be my problem. Avoid this place! read more

This is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been in. Their plates and silverware had chunks of food on them. When I pointed it out to the manager, he acted confused as to why we were complaining. We did takeout a few times over the years, and regretted it. We ordered gluten-free pasta for takeout, and when we got it home it was not gluten-free. Overall, OK and this is based on a takeout order. The pizza was good, and the white pizza was very good. The garlic rolls were pretty dry. The mozzarella caprese did not come with balsamic, which was disappointing. We ordered a Chicken parmigiana and asked for Alfredo pasta instead of spaghetti, we got spaghetti and Chicken with cheese and Alfredo sauce, no red sauce at all. This was some of the very best delivery my family has had! We are in the area on vacation and cannot say enough about how good the food from here was! The woman who took our order over the phone was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The food arrived in a timely manner and was still hot and fresh. The pizza toppings are fresh and of a high quality, and my husband can't stop raving about the wings and calamari. While this wasn't the most inexpensive pizza around, it was well worth the slightly higher prices. If we are ever back in the area this will be on the top of our list of places to eat. read more

12/28/2016. Our party of 5 people went there at 6:00 and they told us 10 minutes. By 6:45 not only were we not seated, but several groups of various numbers had been seated ahead of us, including the hosts golfing buddy(WTF?). We inquired about the wait time and were told "in this business it's hard to tell". We checked that our name was still on the list; it was. I would've given this a zero but I can't do that with yelp. If you want a seat, make sure you play golf with the host! Thank God Peter Chang's was across the street. They served us immediately and the food was superb. I keep coming to this restaurant and have been here four times since they opened up from COVID plus visited the past 10 years off and on. Each time I am just left with the feeling of "eh". The one thing they have right is the calamari and my kids love it. I haven't found another restaurant that makes fresh, crisp calamari, so we go back. Sal's is a great place for parties of all sizes. I was amazed at how large the space was and how quickly they were able to get each table served. They have a large menu, which really allows anyone to find something they want to eat. My boyfriend and I shared a Sicilian supreme pizza and boy was that big! We ordered their house salad to start and loved that it came with your choice of dressing and some mozzarella and salami! The pizza was a real winning item, although I do think we had a bit of pasta envy by the time we left. Highly recommend and plan on stopping through the next time I am in Williamsburg! read more

I LOVE Sals by Victor (the good Sals) Generally they get our order right when we order take in, there have been a few bumps but they always get it right (once forgot our pizza, another time they brought the wrong food) But the FOOD is exceptional. Very delicious, fresh made. We have tried many things on the menu. Pizza, Lasagna, gnocci, Vodka sauce, Cheese steak, italian subs, that I can think of off the top of my head over the past 2 years. We have dined in once and it was a nice experience, really large restaurant. Best italian we have had here, next to Busch Gardens Italy. We are visiting the area and happened to choose Sal's for dinner. It was wonderful meal. The four of us each chose different meals and each of us were pleased with our choices. The food was great with rather large portions. The desserts were equally as good. This little gem wasn't something I expected to find tucked in behind a liquor store and a Food Lion but I'm glad I did (apparently they've been in business since 1974). This is true Italian! Hot, fresh baked bread and homemade soup, generous portions...my husband's calzone was HUGE! And delicious. My penne alla vodka was rich and amazing. I didn't even finish half it was so big. Staff felt like family and the restaurant was clean and comfy. Liked it so much, we went back today for some of their homemade cannoli. Worth the trip! read more

I'm not exactly sure how I picked this restaurant but it was ok or perhaps a little better than ok. They have Peroni beer on tap (great) but it seemed a little warm to me. Maybe the glass was warm? I ordered Veal Parm and it was tasty but the veal was paper thin. It was a large thin piece of meat....kind of crunchy and chewy. I think the same amount in a thicker cut would retain more meat flavor. I had cheesecake for demand it was very good. So this restaurant was a mixed experience for me. read more
