There a great probability that anyone that has bad view of " Sal's Good Eats " is ' Mitochondria challenged ' or 'Cankles -in Chief ' influenced. I used to be a frequent customer ( till I changed my job) of ' Sal's Good Eats ' and never had any complaints. I would usually order Napa Salad from them. It was always ready on time, the girl at the counter (Josie ?) was always welcoming and kind. Some of the time when I ordered late they would still accommodate me. As far I know the Salad was rather healthy ( I am still here to speak about it ain't I ?). I just wish my present job was nearer to them, so I could get that salad everyday. read more

Wow ! What a gem this place is!! We have driven by this place numerous times. I'm not much of a diner person so it really wasn't a consideration for myself however was hungry and it was the non-fast food place we saw we pulled into the parking lot to check out the menu. The menu was your basics, bacon, egg and cheese, pancakes, hamburgers, and specialty sandwiches. We figured that a hamburger here would probably be better than anything else we would get in the area when we walked in. We were immediately graded by the owner Josie, who is an absolute love she asked if we had ever been here before to which we replied no, and she explained that the restaurant was set up as a cafeteria .You can pick your food from the stations and then it would be delivered to your table if you chose to eat in. The salads were beautiful with seasonal fruit and all fresh greens . Hubby selected the cheeseburger medium rare and I was daring enough to try the spicy cheesesteak. Burger was cooked to perfection and the meat was lean enough to not be greasy yet enough fat to be juicy. It was a little odd that they do not make fries but the saucy lady chips that were offered are the best kettle chips I have ever had. My cheesesteak was phenomenal! Real steak , no gristle very tender . Roll was fresh and there was no drippy grease even with cheese and sriracha mayo. The cheesesteak was large enough for one half to fill me up without feeling bogged down. Josie and her staff with very welcoming, checking in on our food and providing delightful banter.Even though I like heat , I think I would skip or reduce the jalapeños next time unless I try their porchetta sandwich. Don't let the industrial vibe surrounding Sal's lead you to believe this is your average greasy spoon. The inside was bright , modern and immaculate . Josie is a darling hostess that beams with pride in her establishment. This is a place where people love what they do and it is evident !!! We will definitely stop in again !! read more

Sal's is tucked away in an industrial park several blocks from Teterboro Airport. It is of notable mention, that this place is owned by the legendary Rudy's Inflight Catering. If you have ever flown on a $50 million dollar Gulfstream jet from Teterboro , good chance that you have eaten food from Rudy's. Perhaps , because I know this , the bar might have been set a little too high. The place is only open for breakfast and lunch. It does offer catering 24 hours a day . But I was made aware that the after hours catering comes from Rudy's . (Which probably is a good thing!) So being in the location in which it is , the place looks like a modern fortress . No windows and all the glass doors have the shatterproof reinforced steel . Bad news for any thief or mischief maker and bad news if you happen to fall asleep at a table and get locked inside overnight . Inside is a very modern cafeteria decor , including trays and tray rails along buffet line. But stuff is made to order, along with buffet style creations . There is a pleasant lady, who is very nice and seems to be on top of all the goings on. I had the basics and it was just okay. The buffet food looked good. When I walked in, I did notice the place had a smell that reminded me of the smell in the Amtrak Cafe car. Not a bad smell , but a weird smell . The only other turnoff was that my egg sandwich wrap was partially made in a rapid convection oven , not purely on the grill. Though can't remember if I saw a grill . The place seemed clean enough and I guess it is appreciated by those who work on the surrounding streets. As it's almost the only game in town, except for the nearby bakery/cafe. Not in a rush to go back , but might give it a second chance . I'm sure the after hours catering from Rudy's is probably great!! read more

Sal's Good Eats is a hidden gem that I highly recommend stopping at. We recieved the red carpet treatment as soon as we walked through the door. Josie the owner greated us, gave a tour and briefly told us the history of Sal's. Cafeteria style set up where you can grab prepped salads, hot dishes and plenty of other options. Breakfast, Burgers, Sandwiches and salads. I had the Cowboy burger and it did not disappoint. Very clean and hospitable environment, will be returning for food whenever I'm in the area. I like Sal's good eats. It's one of my favorite places for having lunch. They have really nice salad bar also there are lots of choices for Salad. Their hot sandwiches and hot sandwiches are amazing. Also so many options for hot dishes as well. I had tuna salad which is my favorite one, feels like It was prepared at home. Restaurant is so clean owned by sweet lady. Most of the time is so busy. Boy has Sals gone down a disappointing hill. First off, this was the best lunch spot. This past week we went there twice and were disappointed both times. Mary wasn't there. . The young guy who was loud, outgoing and new what he was doing behind the counter is gone. . There's a new woman taking orders who's slow. Any questions she refers to Lester the "manager" who looks super stressed and is kinda rude. Let's get to the food debacle. The best sandwich here was the chicken sorrento panini. The panini press is gone and in its place sits an industrial toaster oven. Sadly there is still a "panini" menu. DO NOT EXPECT A PANINI THOUGH. What you could expect is a sandwich on a roll unevenly toasted in a toaster oven.. FAIL. For this I'll just stop in a Subway. Inconsistent now. Monday the Chicken Sorrento I got had about 4 small pieces of chopped chicken on one side and 2 on the other. So let's just call that a mozzarella sandwich, toasted, with roasted peppers and chicken. Today, my chicken sorrento was loaded with chicken but tasted stale. So that's that. I'm not trying anything else on the menu because we aren't going here anymore. This week felt like it was under new ownership. I asked Lester on Monday where everyone was and he told me out sick. Sal's is a nice place to come here to get a quick lunch to go, it looks much nicer and bigger inside than outside and it is always packed during the lunch hour. You can place the order ahead over the phone or on line so it can save you some time waiting in a line. What I like the most about this place is their fresh salad, you can build your own salad and dressing, they will then mix the ingredient and toss them for you. If you don't have any meats ( that cost extra) in your salad, it will be merely $6.6 for a large salad. You can ask them to give you sliced breads on the side, they are free, but sometimes their salad ladies will not ask if you want breads. If you don't like salad, they have hot dish of the day that you can pick, just be careful not to get into the wrong line, I often see people look confused not to know which line is for salad and which is for hot dish, but their manager ( a very nice lady) she is always checking and make sure you are in the right line. I have tried several kinds of their soups, what I like the most is their Maryland crab coup, it's really good. It's not provided daily though, so I always check their website to see what's their daily specials are ( they updated their daily special on line everyday), if they have Maryland crab soup that day, I will make sure I get there earlier before it ran out. I will warn you to stay away from the lobster bisque though, they have a funny smell and too creamy to swallow it. read more

I have been ordering from Sal's for almost 4 years! I am sadden to say today was the final straw! I love their corn beef hash :( Today i placed an order for 2 orders of corn beef hash with 2 eggs over easy. The order not only arrived COLD (I work 10 minutes from Sal's) the eggs were COOKED like a fried egg (not as requested over easy) Their ability to follow the request of the order is now non existent. I normally order a grilled Cheese w/ tomato & bacon I have to say NO PANINI press. This to them seems to be the fastest way to make a grilled cheese.. I disagree so when I order i make sure "no Panini press" is apart of the order. I am not sure what changed! I miss the old Sal's! Michelle is sweet but would rather explain what she thinks could have happened then to fix the problem! I dont care! I paid for food I want it to come as I order. I'm very glad this place opened as my job moved from an area where there were lots of places to grab lunch to a place with nothing. Sal's is a very convenient place to get breakfast or lunch. They were smart in their location choice as there is nothing else around here unless you go on Rt. 46, and even then you are limited to mostly fast food. Sal's has a great variety of items, from their hot breakfast and lunch specials daily, to create your own salads, paninis, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, even sushi. They also deliver and will fax your business their daily menu. They really have something for everyone, whether you are trying to eat healthy or in the mood for something filling. There are so many options to have a different meal every day. The prices are reasonable as the food is prepared fresh, of good quality, and pretty large portions. I enjoy the salads and especially the champagne vinaigrette. There are also and endless list of wonderful toppings. The brunch panini is good with eggs, cheese, home fries, and crispy bacon. They also have a healthier version of this made with turkey bacon. They have an unlimited selection of beverages from old fashioned sodas to diferent coffee flavors and all sorts of bottled beverages. They offer packaged food items if you are in a hurry. The staff here is always polite and on point considering that it does get very busy at lunchtime. You can take out, dine inside or outside. They do have limited hours-Mon to Fri until 3:30 I belive. Our delivery order arrived at the time promised and was packaged to perfection with everything in separate packages (for example, pickles in their own little cup so you don't have pickle juice on everything - those of you who order lunch delivery know that this is key). Really nice on the phone too. The food was good overall (not great, but good). The hot dishes did not arrive hot though - not even really luke warm. Just had lunch here for the first time and sadly, I don't think I'll be returning. There are 9 people behind the counter and a manager on your side of the counter. I love good customer service but in this instance it felt over the top. I felt like I had an awkward audience while deciding what to order. I ordered a tuna melt which, like someone else's review, is considered a panini and on bread so hard it's practically inedible. Also the tuna was very fishy. My stomach started to bother me about half way through but the whole time I was eating the manager kept staring at me like i was doing something wrong and I honestly felt too uncomfortable to complain. That's my fault that I didn't say something but ...it just wasn't an enjoyable experience in all respects. Also, at $7 and change, it's not a cheap tuna sandwich. read more

What!!! This place should have a thousand reviews!!! Completely new venue. This place reminds me of a 60's diner atmosphere with state of the art amenities. What do I mean by that? I don't know.. but this place is super clean, super fresh, delicious food, great great salads where you can pick and choose what you want. Sal's is located just a short drive away from my office and we order from here (breakfast and lunch) quite a bit. Service is fast, friendly and organized - you can't get much better than that. They have a large variety of hot & cold options (paninis, made-to-order salad, wraps, sandwiches, etc.), serve breakfast all day and have a Boylan's Soda fountain. What more could you want in a little lunch joint? Oh, and the decor is clean, sleak and modern on the inside which you'd never guess from the rotating "Sal's Good Eats" sign outside. Had lunch here with my team. We were all in a funky mood due to working inventory and counts. Nothing made sense all day. We fought, we argued, we all needed food. And not just any food, something so good that it would distract us. Across the street, Sal's. A member of my group said, "it's good." No really enthusiasm, no real pep in her step, just it's good. it wasn't until we walked in said hi by owner and staff, smelled the food and sat down, did my team brighten up. The food is home. Manager seemed to circulate around to make sure everyone was being helped in line etc. The hot foood choices looked very good, but I had the reuben panini, and the bread was hard as a friggin ROCK. I really like this place! Its really cool inside and the food is really good. They always have so many options for desserts as well. OMG the brownies they have by the registers are delicious!!!!!! Lots of drink options as well! They are pretty fast and deliver! I def. recommend this place. Only reason I didnt put a 5 star is because I wish it had more food options. In my world, 3 stars automatically goes to a place that prominently features a build-your-own-salad. Another star stops by when the salad ingredients and dressings are fresh and flavorful. One more star makes 5 when that mixed greens salad you created is a LARGE and it comes in at under $8. Nowhere on the NY side of the Hudson can do all that with salad at that price. And if I'm proven wrong, it won't come with friendly service. And that Boylan's Soda fountain makes Sal's Good Eats a Jersey legend. One day I'll stray away and dig in on their entrees but not yesterday, today or anytime soon. And I'm OK with that. Just finished my Santa Fe burrito. This breakfast wrap will keep me full past noon. Fluffy eggs, sausage, pepper jack, scallions and tomato, in a fresh wrap. I work nearby so this place is great from the get-go. The service is friendly and the food is always great and plentiful. I usually get the hot lunch as it is always fresh and easy. The atmosphere of the place is great, nice lighting, clean and hip. Every time I go there the owner would come by and say hi. She's always around asking customers if they are enjoying their meal and a very pleasant woman. You would never know that this place would exist around an industrial park.
