The steak was very tender, juicy and the chimi sauce enhanced the flavor. Bread was fresh and toasted. Also got to try the choriopan special ($11.95) which is a sausage with chimichurri sandwich was also solid. I liked the skirt steak sandwich the best, it's not cheap but the ingredients are high quality so it's worth it as a treat. A must stop whenever I'm in Jersey. The owners are the nicest people and their customer service is excellent. Such a well-run establishment and the food is amazing. I've tried a variety of their sandwiches but the Soprano and anything with eggplant are my go-tos. The Brooklyn - panini style is so damn good. Their eggplant is thin and perfectly crispy and I love how they press the fresh semolina bread for the panini. You can taste the quality in their ingredients and the care they put into each sandwich. Stopped in for lunch on our way to a nearby hotel and it was fantastic. Carlos is incredible! He took the time to explain the entire menu, make a ton of suggestions, and continuously checked on us throughout the meal. We both went with the Soprano after he suggested it as his favorite. It was so delicious and the portion was perfect. The mozzarella paired with the balsamic and peppers was delicious. Yes, they charge some annoying fees for cards like other comments suggest but that's becoming pretty common. I wish they had more normal soda to choose from in the coolers since it was mostly specialty sodas. The dining room was spotless and they were constantly cleaning the prep areas as well. Charming cafe with friendly, warm service and delicious food. During a recent road trip, we stopped by Nick's Sandwich Shop, and it was a wonderful experience and a nice respite from our long drive. We ordered the meatball sandwich, the eggplant parmesan sandwich, and the chicken and rice soup. The sandwiches were incredibly tasty, with an excellent marinara sauce and great mouth feel. The bread also was amazing - I think it may have been an Aversa seeded roll. The sandwiches were huge servings, and we packed half to go. It was a cold, rainy day, so we also craved warm soup. The chicken and rice soup was probably the best I have ever had - it had a golden hue, flavorful and clear broth, and perfectly cooked rice and carrots, with just the right amount of tender white meat chicken. That soup was so delicious that we ordered another serving to go. Nick's strikes us as a family business, where they take great pride in their homemade recipes and treat everyone like family. The guy who took our order, brought our food, and interacted with us was so friendly, genuinely kind, and helpful. We also noticed that he was equally friendly to all customers. I stumbled upon this shop while I was in town for work and I'm so glad that I did (but also so sad that I don't live closer!) Nick's reminded me so much of my old high school sub shop hangout from my youth, complete with a group of teens/tweens hanging out and sharing some sandwiches. I didn't know what to get, but was steered toward the Brooklyn by the super friendly staff and I'm happy to pass along that recommendation. The eggplant was perfectly seasoned and crisp. You can tell they use high quality ingredients but still does not explain their price breakdown. 1 empanada costs 3.50$ (Sauce included) and 12 pieces costs 34$. The empanada is about 3-4 inches long and if you wind up not ordering the 12 piece, you can expect to only see 1 sauce cup for however many empanada's you ordered. Once again the food is great but the prices need to be updated to a more accurate standing. read more
