    Classic Italian
    Briana F.

I got the classic Italian and it was mostly a ham sandwich. This was the amount of salami I got. The person making the sandwiches was very chaotic and frazzled. She was confused that there were so many people coming in during lunch time and "didn't have enough help" to take all of the orders coming in. I waited 20 minutes for a ham sandwich and it was expensive. This place needs to hire more people or limit the number of items on the menu. Would not recommend.

Much as I miss Frankie's, Bambino's does his legacy proud. Awesome sandwiches. Of course I had the Frankie's Italian and loved it. Great cold cuts, great bread, no shortcuts. Everything I expect in a East Coast deli that we miss so much in MN.

If your around the Hackensack/New Milford area, this is the best spot for a fresh Italian sandwich! The menu is huge with many different sandwich choices to choose from. Every time I come here for lunch I make it a goal to try something new. My favorites are the ed marinaro, roman moronie, and chairman of the board. If you haven't tried Bambinos yet you are missing out big time!

Raw chicken in the Yankee Chicken

I ordered two sandwiches and there was something wrong with both. I got the Jocko and it was missing bacon that is supposed to come with it and I requested onions that it was also missing. The other was the Yankee and the "fried" chicken was RAW!! Meaning you could not eat it! After ordering through Slice and getting it delivered, the owners refused to give me my money back for that one sandwich after offering to send a picture of the raw chicken in the sandwich as proof. According to Slice customer service, I could bring the sandwich back to the shop for a discount which I find as unacceptable "solution". $50 for two sandwiches, one of which went straight into the garbage. Never again!

    Half a Yankee chicken

Yummmm! The deli is neat, clean and has plenty of snacks and chips. The owner is so kind and friendly! I ordered a Yankee chicken (chicken cutlet, bacon, lettuce, tomato, bacon, Mayo and cheese), an Iron Man (grilled chicken, broccoli rabe, provolone and garlic aioli), and on a whim, a rice ball. Everything was delicious and fresh. The sandwiches are huge! One is large enough for two people, or two meals for one person. I believe there is a 3.5% credit card fee, as there was a sign posted by the register. People may scoff or complain about the pricing- $13 for a sandwich. However, it's two meals, so a half with tax is about $7. This is what you'd pay literally anywhere else. Definitely stop in for a great meal!

    Great Hambino

Today's review takes us to New Milford at Bambino's Deli. This used to be Frankies Deli and is now owned by 2 New Milford residents. Since it's St Pat's day and he was Italian I decided to go with a corned beef sandwich, coleslaw, and Russian dressing. This thing was a monster and hit the spot. I couldn't finish it because I also ordered the Drunken Chicken Parm after it was recommended by Dave. Again a monster sandwich, definitely enough to feed 2 people. The Chicken cutlets were moist, the sauce and cheese were in perfect balance. My only recommendation would be to toast the inside just a bit to give it a slight crunch. But besides that a solid sandwich. The rolls are from Rockland Bakery but they wouldn't disclose where the loaves are from. Dave joked "If I told you he'd get fired". He went on to say that his other sandwiches weigh in at 2lbs sometimes. And next time come in for breakfast because they make something called "The Great Hambino" which is 4 eggs, Taylor Ham, Bacon, Grilled Ham, Sausage, American Cheese, and Hash Browns. Sure we only live once! They are also doing family dinners on Thursday each week for $45 and have to be ordered by the day before. So if you're in the Area check out Bambinos. This is my second review of Bambino's in New Milford and this time it was for breakfast to try The Great Hambino. Dave answered was super friendly and told me my order would be ready in 10 mins. When I got there it was just coming out of the kitchen. I paid and Dave joked about not being able to work after eating the sandwich because of the weight. And he was right the sandwich weighed in at 1lb 13ozs and I could only eat half. The sandwich includes Ham, Sausage, Bacon, Taylor Ham, Hash Browns, Cheese, and Eggs on 3/4 of a loaf of bread. Everything was cook well and each bite gave you a different flavor. You could taste each individual ingredient. The bread also stayed firm in the travel home. This was a solid sandwich and now I'm going to go take a nap.

Stopped in curiously to see if they have breakfast sandwiches and they do! This will definitely be my new BEC place as it's so close to home and the gentleman who took my order was super friendly and even offered me coffee while I waited. Once the sandwich was ready the cook came out, he also was super friendly and wished me a great day.

Was not disappointed at all, first off 50 bucks for 4 people, where can you go and spend 50 bucks for 4 people? I spent 33 bucks at Wendy's the other day for me and my kid. So 50 bucks for 4 people for 3 courses in awesome! We got the ceasar salad, which was good and they gave us plenty of dressing and didn't skimp on the croutons or cheese. Next was rigatoni with oil and garlic and I gotta say I don't know what they did to the roasted garlic but it was amazing, like I was picking all the little pieces out of the pan it was so good. Then we got the sausage and peppers and if that wasn't enough they threw in meatballs with it as well. There was more than enough food for the 4 of us and we are big eaters. The sauce was so good and that fact that we eating at home I could soak up all the sauce in my bread without fear of being stared at by other patrons. We plan on ordering again and plan on going to dine in as well, the place looked newly remodeled and was quite cute inside. 5 out of 5!

I felt a little like Ray Liotta in "Goodfellas". The service was excellent and our waiter rattled off an extensive list of daily specials and they all sounded wonderful. We settled on burrata and a fried vegetable appetizer. The burrata was good but the fried thing was even better. I wish I could remember what it was because it was so good. I guess that's what I get for writing my reviews 2 months later. It was some kind of vegetable stuffed with cheese, battered and fried. It wasn't too oily and all the flavors and textures went well together. For our entrees we went with linguini in clam sauce and cavatelli, broccoli rabe, & sausage. The linguini was a solid plate of pasta. Linguini, clams, sauce. It tasted exactly how you expect it would and the pasta was cooked well. The cavatelli was much more interesting to me. The different textures and flavors really made it a joy to eat. The pasta was al dente while some of the sausage had some crispy bits to it. And the broccoli rabe kind of made me feeling like I was eating somewhat healthy The ambiance was nice if not a little dated. Not bad though, it was cozy. I'd come back, but not too often. It's pricey.

Located off a busy Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, Ora, meaning "now" or "right now" in Italian, has been on my list and was named Best Italian Restaurant in Bergen County in the 2025 Daily Voice Readers' Choice Awards. A reservation was easily made via Toast. Upon entering as first-timers, my partner and I were greeted by the host inside this multi-level space with the vibe of a modern farmhouse, featuring warm wood tones, exposed rafters, and chic finishes accented by soft mercury lighting. One can dine in the main room, al fresco on the outside patio, weather permitting, or at one of the many top tables at the bar. We were seated promptly at a cozy table ready inside the main dining room. Their menu features a well-executed spin on Italian cuisine. As a starter, we decided on the Basil Pesto Arancini to share. For the main meal, we opted for one of today's specials, 8oz Prime Spinalis accompanied by Mac & Cheese sans crab meat and Dayboat Sea Scallops. Even saved room for some dessert and decided on the Chocolate Tortino and Soft Serve Gelato Copette. Washed them down with Franganza Spritz. Complimentary housemade bread with whipped butter started our meal. Every dish had flair and stood up against the next. Presentations kept our eyes wide as everything arrived to the table, and even the more straightforward preparations had a little something special about them. Everything was delicious; we really don't think one could go wrong with anything on the menu. What truly elevated the night, though, was our server, Clark. He went above and beyond, attentive without being intrusive, genuinely kind, and clearly passionate about making sure we had the best experience possible. It made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. Can't wait to dine here again!

Unfortunately for us, some guests got lost on the way over and our party had to wait for all of us to be seated. Since our original tables had now been taken, we waited a while longer, and longer ... getting seated about an hour after our original reservation. We were promptly given menus but the waiter did not come back for quite some time to actually take our orders or serve us drinks, and I noted we finally had orders placed an unacceptable forty minutes after being seated (adding to the hour we wait to get seated). Appetizers were served first - before the complimentary table bread, which I found a bit odd? Between the calamari, caesar salad, and table bread, the food was delicious and flavorful. After appetizers however, there was easily another half an hour wait for our main entrees, with little service inbetween - no topped off waters or cleaned up dishes. My medium rare rack of lamb came out disappointingly medium well, which given the wait for entrees, I shouldn't have been surprised that it continued to cook while waiting to be served. The salty lamb and vegetables were drenched in dressing, and were better off served either with about half the flavor or on the side. Trying a bite of my wife's undercooked pappardelle, I was again disappointed yet not surprised. Summing it up, this place has a fabulous ambiance but the attention to detail from the wait staff and chef is missing, and left us with a three and a half hour dining experience with mediocre food.

The food is where it was a bit disappointing to me. I can appreciate the wide variety of items on the menu, but not when the quality varies so much. We ordered a few pasta dishes (one that was on the daily special), a few taco dishes, an order of wings and the brussel sprouts. All of the pasta dishes were huge disappoints. They looked like pasta dishes from Applebees. The sauces were very runny and the kids pastas were the most basic pastas that were way overpriced for what they were. My daughter who loves pastas only ate about 1/3 of it and told me she didn't like it. The wings were dry and not saucy enough. The tacos were OK. The brussel sprouts were the only standout dish that we ordered. I liked their extensive draft beer menu though. Lots of variety to choose from and the drinks were fresh. Overall, I'd certainly come back here and hope that I pick some better food choices or a big improvement on the food quality, but a fun place to hang out at.
