Sal's Pizza is one of those great family-owned business, we'll definitely be back to. We fed our family of five for under $50 and still had plenty of leftovers! Called to place an order. Specifically asked what cheese is used on their bacon and cheese fries. Pleased with the answer we ordered said bacon and cheese fries. Asked for mayo, oil, vinegar and oregano on Italian sub. Sub was dry...no mayo, oil or vinegar and barely had an oregano. When I called to discuss the difference in cheese on the fries the gal who had taken the order said "oh I guess we made it with mozzarella." No apology and she didn't answer my question that I had asked at all. I was left to feel like it or I just didn't matter. Once realizing the sub was not made correctly I called back and left them know I would be returning all the food and wanted a refund. When I got to the restaurant the manager or owner??? Wouldn't make eye contact or even apologize. We have frequented this restaurant often but I will not be going back. Customer service was beyond disgraceful. Tonight I also learned they own P&J pizza shop as well. If this is truly how they treat their paying customers I guess they also have lost my business. They truly don't seem to care because when I mentioned not returning they said nothing. read more

Absolutely delicious food! We've had their pizza, calzones, and Stromboli. Two of us split a calzone and we still ended up taking part of it . Food is definitely made with love! Be prepared to wait a bit as food is made to order, but it's well worth the wait. While waiting, we were surprised at how often the phone rang and how many people kept coming in to get to go . There was one guy behind the counter that was kind of loud and gruff, but I kind of expected that based upon other reviews. You seat yourself, and clean up after yourself, but since you're just paying for your food/drink, no big deal. read more

I'm back at General RV and this place has outside covered seating. This time I'll order the fries but try the Hawaiian Cheeseburger Sub rather than pizza. The "small" sub is a foot long; too much for me so $5 of the $10 went into the bin. It's enough for two. The fries are $4 and worth it. read more

Im only giving two stars because the food actually isn't bad. That was really the only thing that kept us coming back. But if we are going off customer service it's a 0! They have way too young of girls working there. They have poor attitudes and have not a clue what they are doing. Tonight was my last straw. We will be trying out a different pizza shop in town. Food is usually good which is their saving grace. They let dirty dishes pile up on a cart by the soda machine which is kind of gross. They have an exposed light switch over by the side door which has been that way for over a year. Hopefully no curious toddler decides to stick something into the switch. Their bathrooms don't seemed to be cleaned on a regular basis and the owner sits in the middle of the dining space yelling Italian into his cell phone. Sometimes the one son joins him so you have two people yelling into the cell phone at the same time. As an added bonus, the cell phone's volume is also turned to maximum so by the end of your lunch break, you are actually looking forward to going back to work. read more

When moving to a new area, finding a pizza joint is high on one's list, correct? The first restaurant that I tried when I moved to Mount Joy was Sal's Pizza & Italian Restaurant (SP). Since then I've been a fan and it's about time I give them a review. Owner Sal Bellia is the son of Francesco and Anna Bellia who own P&J Pizza, which is also in Elizabethtown. Sal spent many years working with his family at their restaurant, and back in 2011 he decided to open his own store. SP make their own pizza dough and rolls daily, and their marinara is a family recipe. I love their pizzas--not too greasy and the crust is great. I'm not a fan of thin crust pizza so I love SP's crust. My favorite so far is the White Spinach with fresh ricotta. Delicious! The only negative I will say is that we ordered a Broccoli and Bacon Pizza the first time and the broccoli was definitely frozen instead of fresh. Not good. SP--please use fresh vegetables! It would have made all the difference. SP also has a drive-thru. Call up, order and then go through the drive-thru to pick up your food. How awesome is that? Pizza drive-thru seems to be a big thing around here but it's a first for me! I have yet to try anything but their pizzas but I will in time. For now, when I have a pizza craving, I go to SP. read more

Highly disappointed- first time we came here they told us to leave because they closed in 45 minutes- tried today a second time and waited an hour for dine in food. While the two brothers walk around aimlessly like they have nothing to do. Visited Sal's while we were in town visiting with family. Great family restaurant. Ordered Spaghetti and meat sauce and Sal's Meat Tortellini- both were delicious! Waitress was attentive and the food came out promptly. Salad was a bit skimpy and the Ranch was watery with little flavor....BUT, the menu salads looked AMAZING. Our uncle ordered a grilled chicken salad and it was one of the heartiest ones I've ever seen. There were 13 of us and the bill was $147! Great food and fair portions at an awesome price. read more

I ordered a pizza, but the price on the website was wrong, so they called me and told me they were canceling the order, no problem, I will pay the correct price. I then asked for a refund of my money for the incorrect order, to which the owner stated "they have never had to do a refund before" and I couldn't have my money back. I even tipped 25% and they just took my money and told me to stick it essentially. Just go to two cousins in Mount Joy, the food is far better anyway read more

We have loved Sal's cheese steaks and have been regular patrons of their drive-through/pickup for the last few years. We ate inside a few months ago and I had a chicken cordon Bleu stromboli and it was delicious! Went tonight and my husband got his regular cheese steak and fries. His meal came out first. All of the ketchup bottles were empty!! He asked and they said they ran out. What restaurant runs out of ketchup! He finished his whole meal and my stromboli still wasn't out. No explanation. No apology. Had them box it so I could take it home. No apology. Should have known from the beginning - the girl who took our order visibly yawned several times while she was taking our order. She sat behind the counter eating and was just rude. The stromboli was nowhere near as good as the last time. Terrible customer service and not sure we'll be back. Very disappointing. read more

We had a very disappointing experience at Sal's this evening. We have been frequenting P&J's and Sal's for years and have always been treated with respect and dignity whenever interacting with Sal himself and his parents. Today unfortunately was a completely different experience. When we first walked in around 4:30 trying to eat early and avoid the dinner crowd. We asked to eat in we were greeted with a very off hand "The menus are there, order at the counter".  We had ordered drinks and with it being so long since we've been able to eat out and most places not allowing it, we were unaware they were self serve. After a few minutes of sitting at the table we asked about this and were given a very dismissive answer of yes.   We had also ordered a pizza and a salad. When our pizza was up, we still had not gotten our salad and no one appeared to be making it so we reminded them of our order. Again we were met with a very dismissive "Well we're very busy but we're getting it". I know that there may have been a large number of pick up orders... but we were the ONLY ones dinning in at this time and were surprised to have not gotten our salad first let alone that it had not even been made yet. At this point, having had to ask for plates and silverware for dining in, and for having felt like we were a burden since walking in the door, we decided to ask for a to go box and eat at home instead. Up until this point we had been very polite and understanding but with being so disappointed in the service, we let them know that this was the case and were met by a very rude response. The man behind the counter began to yell at my mother saying she was disrespectful and that she was personally attacking him and when asked if he responds to all his customers this way he said "I treat customers the way they treat me." Again, we had not been what I would consider difficult or unreasonable in our requests at this point. When asked when we would be able to speak to Sal, the gentleman behind the counter let us know that he was Sal's brother and the days that we could come back to talk to Sal himself. I was appalled to know that this was his brother and he was comfortable yelling at customers who have given business since the establishment opened. His response was that they were busier than ever and it was basically not their problem that we were disappointed. To add insult to injury, as we left the young blonde who had been rude about the drinks was standing behind the counter smirking about the interaction. I understand we are just one family and it won't hurt their business or make a difference to anyone there but we will definitely not be back. Which is a shame because their food is delicious and like I said we have been there lots over the years since they opened. read more

I didn't think you could mess up pizza, but I was wrong. The waitstaff is friendly, and the restaurant itself is clean and modern. However, the pizza was a failure. We ordered the white spinach pie (the medium size fed the two of us with two slices for leftovers). Even after sprinkling parm cheese, garlic powder, and powdered chili flakes we could not get any real flavor out of the pizza. Bland. It was really sad. I might come back....but I will definitely steer clear of the pizza. read more

Ok, so I went back to try the subs. Here I was pleased. I would give the subs a 3 1/2 star rating, but since we can't do 1/2s, and their pizza was hot garbage, we're stuck with 3 stars. My housemate and I split a cheese hoagie and an eggplant parm hot sub. The cheese sub was really standard - no spices, Kinda eh. I can get this anywhere. The homemade bread was a nice touch, but it really had no special flavor either. The eggplant parm was good first bite - and then it faded it bit. The slices were a bit thick. There was nothing special about this either. Good, but not great. It had a drive through - that was a bonus for calling in. Came here on a whim because we were passing through etown. We were greeted by a miserable man, who seemed to be the owner, who made it seem like an inconvenience that we were there. We ordered wings fries and a wrap and it Came to almost $40 . while we were waiting for our food to be prepared, the employees were fighting and screaming at each other. This kept going the whole time we were there. My boyfriend got his expensive wings, and they were fried to a crisp and dried out and tiny. This place was terrible all around. If you're going to treat your customers like dirt, at least serve good food. Don't waste your money here folks. read more

We love Sal's most of the time. Unfortunately it's hit or miss. No consistency in quality and taste. For example, their new dish "Mussels Linguine" was AMAZING the first time I got it. Literally one of the best dinners I've ever had. Lots of mussels cooked perfectly, and the red sauce was delicious. Yesterday ordered the very same dish......huge disappointment. Mussels were still cooked perfectly but the sauce was literally a puddle of oil. Looked like it hadn't been stirred for hours. Very little actual red sauce. It was all just red shaded clear oil. Called a pick up order and was told 35 minutes, I have them 40 minutes. Paid and was given my salad. I was asked to pull in a parking spot because the pizza wasn't ready and it would be 8 min. After 10 I asked again and they said 2 min. Finally after 5 minutes the owner brings my food and asks what's wrong. He said but you ordered your food at 6:40. No sir, my phone shows I called at 6:30 and it's now 7:40. He didn't say anything. Got home the pizza crust was burnt. Seriously, never again. He didn't offer a discount or anything. Ordered a manicotti dinner and spaghetti dinner today. Asked for extra bread that comes with the meal since we didn't want the salad with the manicotti meal. Told me they would not do that. Picked up order through the drive-through window and took it home. Not only was there not extra bread but the bread was missing for the spaghetti meal. The spaghetti sauce was watery and tasteless. The servings were small. And the garlic bread had no garlic on it. The bill was $30 for these two dinners, and they weren't worth five dollars. I went inside and they stated they didn't have the wrap or chicken required to make the sandwich. Why wasn't I told at the drive thru lane that my order wasn't complete? We have been going to this place for take out wings fairly regularly. Tonight I was shocked to be charged double the price. The girl at the window explained to me that the pricing had changed when I told her that over 55 dollars couldn't be right. The price for 50 wings is still listed as $27.99 on their online menu, but I was charged over $55. My husband called to complain and was only told repeatedly that they had changed the price, and it didn't matter what it said online, and they were aware that the online menu had not been updated. Bottom line: beware of placing online orders. Their online menu prices do not reflect what they're charging customers. I say go somewhere else if you don't want to pay double the advertised price. read more

We had been very regular customers of Sal's but tonight we sat in a jammed packed parking lot and drive-thru lane. Waiting for 45 MINUTES for our food. They hand us cold pizza, cold fries and corn nuggets. We still paid full price.. no apologies... nothing. Come on now! That's horrible and terrible time management this eve. We saw a lot of angry customers in the parking lot. People jumping lone and trying to go inside. It was a messn. Would NOT recommend and won't return! Plenty of other options in the area.
