Also I ordered the special and it was good not great and it 48 dollars for the swordfish special, which is pricey and it didn't come with what it was supposed to, orzo. It came with quinoa instead. And they didn't tell us the price of the special before and I should have asked. But I've never had a 50 dollar swordfish that's why I didn't ask. Friendly wait staff, delicious food, and huge portions make Lazzaro's a home run. I came here with a party of 6 on a Saturday night after going to Hershey Park. It was very busy and we didn't have a reservation. They made adjustments to the seating chart and had us seated in 10 minutes. As someone who is dairy free, I asked if they would be able to make accommodations and they were happy to. We started with a bread basket. The bread came out warm which was perfect on a cold evening. Not to mention the oil was fantastic. Then, I ordered a chicken Marsala which the chef made dairy free for me. It came with a soup that was to die for (can't remember which kind). The portion size of the Marsala over linguini was huge and I was able to have leftovers for the next day. The wait staff were so kind and made you feel like family. First time visit, we were not aware that the kitchen closed at 9 on a Friday (we got there just before 9). Normally we would not go to a restaurant before closing but the manager insisted we stay and the kitchen staff were waving us in. I am so glad we stayed. The food was amazing. We slurped up every last bit of the cheese fondue. There's magic in the oil that comes with the complimentary bread, we stuffed ourselves with carbs before our meals came out (our fault). My pasta carbonara was delicious and the serving size was plenty big. The entire staff treated us like family and I do appreciate great customer service. Stopped in for dinner without reservations and luckily they were able to seat us. We ordered a bottle of wine for the table along with bottled water and the Bistro sampler appetizer: calamari, mozzarella and fondue. Loved the mozzarella and the fondue with the bread was the best! For dinner we ordered a side of broccoli rabe, Linguine carbonara, and Osso Buco. The broccoli rabe was cooked perfectly and the linguine was amazing and so large it was enough for two people. The Osso Buco was tender and melt in your mouth good and we loved the pasta as well. Our service was good, but she seemed rushed and not at all friendly. There were people still being seated when we were eating so I don't know why she was in such a hurry. Let me first start off by saying I HATE showing up to a restaurant right before they are about to close. But by our mistake that's exactly what we did . Once we realize what we did we didn't want to keep them any longer on a Friday than they had planned. BUT... even thought the kitchen was closing in 8 minutes, ALL the staff insisted we stay and eat. We sat down at a table ( being the only ones here) and really felt bad about showing up late. We tried to walk over and tell them we really didn't want them to stay open for us. Multiple staff walked us back to our table and insisted we stay and eat. So we did.... I never meet a nicer staff than we meet here. You can tell they have pride in their work and it definitely shows. It's a very clean and welcoming environment. We started off with the fondue app. Absolutely amazing. Great flavors and toasted bread was awesome. I got the sausage and peppers as my entree that came with a side salad. The house dressing was very tasty and the roasted red peppers in the salad were a great touch. But the sausage and peppers!!!!!! Wow , just wow. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. At 5:30 while enjoying a dessert beverage, our check was dropped off and we were asked to pay as they had other reservations. Now mind you, we finished eating dinner at 5:15. Our server was great!! And everyone knows, I'm a server, but this was absolute bullshit!! Appetizers, dinner and a drink our tab for the table was $250! And to ask us to pay and leave, WTF! I get it, it's New Year's Eve, but if that's how you're going to treat your paying customers, tell them they have an hour and a half when they make their reservation!! We ate light as we were going to a comedy show and didn't want to fall asleep. Overall we had a great experience! I had the Buffalo mozzarella special that day. I am obsessed with Buffalo mozz and it was pretty delicious! Their gluten free options were good which is always appreciated as I have Celiac. My husband had fried mozzarella and I believe one of their pasta dishes. We ate here last month so I can't quite remember everything. We did take dessert to go. I got the gluten free strawberry shortcake, it was good but needed way more strawberry and the cake was a tad dry. He got cannoli and it was good by him. Let's just say it took over 6 minutes for them to even locate my original order and were telling me they couldn't find it. Finally it was located and I was able to add on. Picked up in 20 minutes as was suggested. Food was ready and hot. Got it back to the house. The fried calamari.... they were great. Not chewy. Firm. Not overly breaded. The pizza.... bad. Not the worst but far better in the area. 2 pies, one barely had any sauce the other had a ton. Both were cheesy but one the cheesy was even over the crust in most areas. And I'm unsure if they make the crust, they could but I'm more tempted to say no and they just aerate their. For those who enjoy authentic Italian, I would go elsewhere - only 2* for you guys. If you are ok with slightly above American Italian, then go here - 3.5 stars. And 5* for our waitress Olivia! As for me, we've had some of the best Italian food in New Haven, CT, famous for Wooster street and Pepe's pizza. So, to me it was mediocre. Regardless of your history of Italian food, I definitely do not recommend the pizza. The crust and even overall taste was only marginally better than frozen pizza. They should really just drop pizza from the menu. We also had rigatoni w/vodka cream sauce and the eggplant parm. The sauce was not really my favorite, but it was palettable. Eggplant was at least not overly breaded. Vodka sauce was ok. All in all, I wouldn't return, but if you're used to average American Italian food, you'll probably enjoy this just fine. The best part was our waitress Olivia... She was awesome, had a smile and great attitude despite them being short staffed and very busy. A great, family run gem in Palmyra. We love Italian food and enjoy trying new places when out of town. We had seen Lazaro's during a previous visit to Palmyra but did not have the opportunity to try them out. We made a reservation since other reviews said the restaurant can get busy. We arrived on time, were greeted and immediately seated. Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. From appetizers and pizza to many main dish selections, the menu gives you many options. Our lot enjoyed Chicken Piccata, 4 "P's" Rigatoni, Shrimp Scampi, and Linguini Primavera, all with dinner salads. The fresh baked bread and oil is really tasty and all of our meals were great...and piping hot! My only complaint, if it can really be a complaint, was that the salad dressings were served in individual side containers. For my two cents, I like the dressing on the salad. Bottom line...food was fresh, house made, excellent, and their service matched! We will definitely come back when in town visiting the kids! read more

Got the pizza but they don't make their own crust and crust was tasteless. Didn't get to see a desert menu so no idea if they have gluten free desert. Did not get a drink list so just had water. I gave the waitress a $10 to get change for the tip. She only gave me $4 so I didn't tip. She took her $6 out of my $10 instead of changing my $10 bill she just took what she thought was a good tip.
