Have eaten here a number of times and always enjoyed the food, my latest experience was disappointing. The mussels appetizer looked and tasted like they had been cooked earlier in the day. We had reservations for two on a week night . We were seated right away and we were given menus and water glasses. We brought a bottle of wine and were also given wine glasses. We opened our wine and poured it into the glasses. We waited for quite some time for our server. When our waitress finally came, she took our order. A little while later, the hostess brought us some rolls. We ordered side salads with our dinner with the house dressing. The dressing was very sour and each of our plates had puddles of red wine vinegar, making them almost inedible. I ordered the gnocchi with grilled vegetables. The gnocchi was okay, the grilled vegetables were great. My husband ordered a pasta with bolognese sauce., he was not impressed. While we were eating, a bus boy asked us if we wanted boxes. We weren't even halfway finished and said no thank you. Three minutes later, another bus boy came by and handed us boxes , again, and we said no thank you, we were still eating. Our waitress never checked on us until the very end to ask if we wanted dessert . Initially, we were going to order a dessert but we felt so rushed and the service was so poor, we just wanted to go. Our waitress brought the check, and we look at the bill and there is a $5.00 cork fee. We were surprised to see this because we opened and poured our own wine. Okay wow. DELICIOUS Italian food. It was so so good. My wife and I got 2 different dishes, see below, and they were each hit and fresh home cooked Italian meals. We also got Fried Calamari but that was a bit undercooked. The Mozzarella Sticks were nice and cheesy though. You also get homemade fresh bread rolls and focaccia that is great. We came here in a Sunday late afternoon before heading back home and it did not disappoint! Our server, Kayla wa a great--enthusiastic, friendly, professional and always made sure we had everything we wanted/needed. I ordered a pizza to start, it was alright. For my entree I had the pollo Milanese wil hitch was delicious the only comment I have was, the sherry vinaigrette was little too acidic at times but overall tasty chicken. I've heard rave reviews about this place, and it did not disappoint. First, it's BYOB - always a plus in my book. The calamari was super fresh and tender. Rolls came out quickly, with the caramelized onions with red sauce on flatbread included. Delicious! We did have a tiny bit of a mixup, our waiter had to double check our order although he had written it down, and one of the dishes came out wrong. Instead of the clams, mussels, shrimp linguine we only got clam linguine. We were starving and it wasn't too bad of a mixup so we didn't bother saying anything. The dish came with a dozen clams - well worth the price. Was charged appropriately at the end of the meal so it wasn't an issue. The busser was on point, as soon as we finished a plate she was there ready to clear our dishes. She was an absolute doll. Although we were stuffed, we had to try the ice cream "bomba". Chocolate, pistachio and strawberry gelato covered in a chocolate shell. It was so good. I will definitely be back again. We went to Mangia Mangia on last Saturday evening . Made reservations for 7:30 PM. Had a little bit of a wait, but not to bad. The restaurant was packed. Very loud with multiple birthday party dinners going on for that evening. Started off with the chicken corn soup. The cream based soup was "boiling". Had to wait for it to cool down to taste the flavors. I really liked the soup. Nice portion size for a cup. Next up was the dinner salad. Perfect size and the salad Italian dressing was delicious. The dinner rolls changed since the last time we were there. They served four small basic dinner rolls. They were average compared to the tasty bread slices we had there in October. I ordered the Lasagna for dinner. The portion size was perfect, but I really did not care for the flavor. I would not order this pasta dish again. There was a lot of meat (layered) on the lasagna. The desert tray had plenty to offer! We took home a slice of chocolate mousse cake. The cake was delicious. Service was good based on how busy the restaurant was that evening. THIS WAS SO FRUSTRATING!! We had a reservation at 7:00 for a group..as dinner before a State Championship Race. We saw it was busy but were told it would be 10-15 minute wait. We waited an hour outside in the cold before just giving up and leaving to eat somewhere else. We had to constantly go in to beg for an update since no worker cared to inform us or apologize. This classic Italian restaurant did NOT disappoint. Not only was the staff super friendly, but our service was attentive throughout the evening. To start, the crab dip appetizer had a great taste and texture, and was fairly filling split between two people. The arrabbiata penne pasta was a good level of spice and quite flavorful. The fettuccine Alfredo was very tasty, however, when asking for meatballs on the dish they mixed in marinara sauce which detracted from the overall taste of the Alfredo sauce.
