There are more rooms at CATS, like a ballet room and kitchen, but they're not accessible during volley nights. I would actually give the gym itself 3 stars since it doesn't allow for competitive play, but the atmosphere and the great people sure deserve 5 stars...which brings it to a solid 4-star volleyball place.

We were sitting right where the enormous elephant comes down and it was incredible to see. Speaking of the Circle of Life, it gets me SO emotional every time! I grew up loving The Lion King and this show just does it so much justice. The production value is to die for. The lighting, the scenery, the way they play with perspective. It's just all so amazing. And the singing? And the acting? I can just go on and on. I also love how they added "They Live in You" into this production, along with "Shadowland" and "Endless Night." It is so touching and moving. It's a great show to take your children to. I know it can be pricey, and there never really is a good deal per se, but if you are able to swing it and get tickets, you won't be sorry you did.

Located on 49th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, in Theatre Row, across the way from Ambassador Theater that's currently running the classic musical Chicago. At 6:30pm on a Sunday, the pre-show crowds were lined up in front of theater entrances all around. Two queues formed in front here, after security and ticket check, you head inside thru a shallow foyer where the will call/ticket office is located at a couple windows to the right. Unlike some others that have lobbies, within ten feet from the entry, you step into the main floor seating level. Along the back of the theater are a couple glass merchandise displays (t-shirts, tote bags, pins, music), and a stand where you can make your purchases. To the back (left side if facing the stage) is a bar room, where alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages are available for sale; headsets for hearing impaired are also available at the left corner in this room. Seating is spread over two levels, with side balcony box seats that didn't appear to be in use. Theme of decor incorporates gold art deco with neoclassical elements, additionally the curtain screens along the stage and balcony are designed with beautiful scenes of a clouded evening sky, stars and planets. The stain glass gothic revival frame hemming the edges of the stage evokes the Salt Lake Temple in Utah. Getting to the show - SOOOO GOOOD. The performers are so talented, especially the "Africa" cast, their harmonies were super tight! The storyline, vocals, musical song and dance numbers, in-your-face humor written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez - really stood out to me as one of the most enjoyable musicals out there. Dropped by for a sip and sew class on a Sunday evening. This place was relatively easy to find…read more Located on the 9th floor. The class was 2 hours long and overall a very fun learning experience to make a tote bag. Not easy imo, but you are taught in a way with demonstrations first prior to attempting to do it on your own, a few steps at a time. I thought the hardest parts were the beginning prior to actually sewing - putting the thread in the machine and setting it up. But I'm sure with experience it becomes second nature. You're given the basics of the machine from the buttons to the different parts and the pedal. Then comes the fun part of actually putting together the tote bag. From sewing the sides to sewing the handles, the instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful! Very delighted to have taken this class, and looking forward to taking more in the future. As someone forever petite (unfortunately), I spend so much time getting clothing altered. Would love to learn more about altering my own clothes.

We received a run down on how the machine works, learned how to thread the machine and how to fill the bobbins. Then we made a denim tote bag. This was super easy and really fast. After lunch break is the 2nd project. If you don't have your fabric, the school can sell you fabric directly inside for $16 a yard. I bought my fabric elsewhere and brought it in. I honestly recommend doing this instead of buying it from them. Because you have to wash your fabric like how you wash your laundry regularly since it shrinks naturally. We picked our patterns and I made a skirt since a skirt is faster than pants. They recommended not to make pockets or else I'll run out of time. But I HAD to add pockets. Women's clothing have little or no pockets regularly. The instructors are extremely helpful and friendly. and they immediately notice if someone is struggling or stuck. This really impressed me. For example, when I was threading the bobbin, the spool of thread was running out. The teacher was immediately behind me with a brand new spool of the same color so I can swap it out when it was finished. That was a great eye for detail! Overall, highly recommend. Just bring in your own 3 yards of cotton fabric, already washed and dried, for the 2nd project!
