If you're looking for a place to have a nice lunch & beverage this is NOT the place to go! I sat at the bar and ordered a $12 nacho and a mocktail and somehow my bill was over $32! when the nachos were brought to me instantly noticed that the amount of lettuce FILLED the plate and there was little tomato, very little guacamole, and little sour cream. after taking a few bites I called over a server (who is actually the manager) and asked if he could bring me more of what seemed to be so skimp in the serving. he asked if he needed to take it to the back and I insisted he didn't need to because the food was descent & I was hungry. He quickly brought out 3 nice sized sizes of shredded cheese, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Once I received the bill I noticed they charged me $2.00 per side of the jalapeños, sour screen, cheese , and tomato's I ordered. I was shocked. When I asked to speak to him, I said that clearly was a miscommunication because I didn't want side orders of those items. I just wanted more because it didn't seem like there was enough in the nachos order that I ordered. He acted like he didn't understand what I was saying, and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. I even showed him that I only took 1 one 4 filled amount of the sour cream and if that's the least you can do is to remove that from my bill which he did but overall the customer service was terrible. There's no way that a $12 nacho should come out to $30 in my opinion it was ridiculous and definitely not worth the cost. I would not advise anyone to come here if these are the steaks at hand as you can see in the photos attached I barely ate. Why did I wait so long to try this place?! If you love authentic Mexican dishes you will not go wrong. The food has that homemade taste with a hint of CA influence, especially their Mission Street style burritos. They have a good variety of popular authentic Mexican foods , it's one of our friends places to eat Mexican food so they invited us to this Restaurant . I ordered the California burrito with carnitas it was full of shredded pork ,onions ,rice ,cheese,pico de gallo sour cream guacamole , it was good but a bit to dry for me I would have like melted queso blanco over it . My wife's said she loved her taco salad she liked the way her tostada tasted.Both of our friend's entree they enjoyed , BEUTIFULL decorated inside . They also had a corner bar area for drinks . Their website includes images of their menu which states that their Lunch Menu prices are valid Monday-Saturday from 11:00AM-3:00PM. This past Saturday I went to have lunch there a little before noontime based upon that. When I arrived and was seated by my waiter my wife and I were handed their dinner menu. When we asked for the lunch menu we were told that those were only good Monday-Friday. When I showed him on their website menu it showed Monday-Saturday he just shrugged it off. Since we were both hungry and had already received our drinks and complimentary chips & salsa we decided to just go ahead and remain there for lunch. After we finished eating and received the bill the prices charged were also a few dollars more per plate than what their website menu states. Needless to say we won't ever return. Apparently we aren't the only customers who feel this way as other than us there were only 2 other people having lunch there on a Saturday at noon. read more

We came here after evacuating from Tampa bay and was so happy this place was open for us to have lunch. We were even more happy they were advertising 2 for 1 house margaritas. We sat at the bar and were served 2 bowls of chips and salsa immediately (there were 4 of us). 2 of us did margaritas and 2 did very large beers. The margaritas were pretty good. Not sure how much alcohol was in them but they tasted good! They had some pretty good lunch special dishes on the menu. Between the 4 of us we ordered: chicken Mexican style tacos, chicken American style tacos, huevos rancheros, and the Speedy Gonzalez lunch special. The chicken was nicely seasoned, corn tortillas were fresh, and portions were very good sized. The rice and beans served with each were okay. Honestly we probably could have all done without. We also ordered the fresh guacamole. I loved it. It was chunky and flavorful. It's not every day you visit a restaurant and it's there one year anniversary, right? While we had no clue it was Salsas Cocina in Palencia's one year anniversary it was a pleasant surprise when we sat outside and they had a DJ outside. We opted to go out to eat, but sit outside. Lots of pretty large murals painted inside, lanterns hanging from the wall, and a good chunk of seating. We went outside and were given chips and salsa, while we waited for our server. It was pretty packed outside. A few large parties and an indoor/outdoor bar. I ordered a cold beer and looked over the menu. After looking over the menu, I opted for a beef chimichanga, the little got a kids mac and cheese, and my husband got pork in a pineapple. About seven minutes of waiting and then our food came out. Super super super fast! My chimichanga was fried perfectly, the beef was nicely seasoned, and the rice and beans were a nice side. My kiddo scarfed down his mac and cheese and I had some of my husband's pork in a pineapple. It was seasoned perfectly, tender, and the presentation was beautiful. Our server was checking up on us multiple times. She made sure we never had an empty drink and was quite attentive. Came in yesterday late afternoon 3/18/23. My dad and his wife said they have gone many of times and the food was super good. I am not big on Mexican restaurants only because I have gotten used to the homemade mexican cooking; therefore no other restaurant can compare. Just my opinion, either way we came in the place was bare, except for a large table that had about 8 young patrons. Upon entering you got a super smell of fabuloso cleaning solution. Not my thing ever....I can't with the smell, the host came sat us down, he was very friendly. I asked if we wanted to sit in a booth or table we said booth and I asked for a highchair and he brought one even though I never used it now that my 2 y/o feels like she's big! Food wise: it was okay not Stellar. I order the taquitos from the small plates menu they were $16 . I already messed up in my mind I thought I was ordering flautas (rolled up fried tacos with filling) instead the taquitos were greasy fried tortillas with beef filling (shredded) and a side of lettuce, pico, and sour cream. The food is GREAT here. We loved the thick chips and salsa! I had the enchiladas, cheese, bean, chicken, beef, topped with shredded lettuce, salsa, sour cream, and guac - very very very very good! I feel obligated to say that you should expect poor service as that is what we had on a Sunday evening. They packed us into the one dining area which I thought was so they could serve us more efficiently and that wasn't the case. It took a long time to get someone to take our drink order then even longer to take our food order. We had to ask 3 different people for more chips and salsa and then had to ask 3 people to get our check- very sad and disappointing, so expect it. Food is great so I will return! The music was WAY TOO LOUD I literally had to yell at my server for him to maybe hear me. (Not to mention we couldn't hear ourselves at our table) I ordered a 32oz draught beer and after about 35 minutes was finally brought a small drink in a plastic cup, which later they claimed was 16oz pint. Coincidentally they called that same 16oz pint a "jumbo margarita" and charged me $13 for my wife's drink. Food came out dry and lukewarm at best. This was our first visit to this location and it will be our last visit!! The space is too small for a busy restaurant, no bar stools so there is no sitting at the bar, what's the point of having a bar you can't sit at? I called the restaurant and spoke with Eduardo the manager. He said the prices were incorrect but would refund me $10. When we returned for the refund he refused and stated the menu on the website was incorrect and prices had increased 3 years ago. My new favorite Mexican restaurant! The establishment was very clean, had plenty of seating, the decor was great and the staff was very welcoming from the moment we walked in. If I have any negative things to say about this place it is only the noise, but that is mainly because it was fairly busy and lots of people talking over each other, but it was not unbearable or too much. When our food arrived it was one of the best chimichangas I have ever had. More than just our waiter came to check on us to make sure we were taken care of, even the manager stopped by to see how we were doing. You better make sure and see what they are charging you now. I understand that food prices have gone up recently but this place is really sticking to their customers. We ordered bean dip appetizer and it was $9 which we found high. When we got home it was a small side of bean dip. Not the size of an appetizer. Literally not enough for a single person. Then we were charged $21 for the order of 3 chicken soft tacos which is listed as $13 on the menu. When we called back to ask if this was correct they said it was and that was the correct size of then bean dip. They also said $13 is the cost of the lunch order of soft tacos which i know is a lie because we have ordered to go on weekends plenty of times before. Another amazing meal! I ordered the steak rice bowl and hubs had the cheesesteak burrito with rice. Husband said it was the best rice he's ever eaten. Spinach dip was so delicious with the hot tortilla chips. For dessert, I got the churros- do not sleep on those churros! They were freshly made and just as delicious as the meal. This was out 3rd time dining here. The manager and waitresses work together to keep everyone's table happy. Salsasconsistently serves an amazing experience. At its best Salsas is palatable Mexican food, at its worst it's dry, flavorless and barely edible. The chicken used in the enchiladas and tacos is likely from a can. The grilled meats can resemble shoe leather on occasion. The food is inconsistent. The only caution I have, and I REALLY hope they correct it is the Masking situation. They all wear masks but almost none of the staff keep it pulled up over their nose. My family put in a to go order and when we picked up the order it was incomplete. We had to make another trip back to the restaurant to get the order fixed. To be quite honest the food was not that great. The fried fish was way too cooked to the point where we could not enjoy it. We have always enjoyed the food here. Recently my son had an allergic reaction because their homemade mole sauce CONTAINS PEANUTS! He did not order mole sauce, it came incorrectly on his burrito instead of regular red sauce. He required an epinephrine injection and we headed to the ER. Thankfully he is ok. I contacted the restaurant to let them know and they confirmed mole sauce contains peanuts. They apologized "for the inconvenience" and said they would update their menu to indicate this allergen.
