Fish tacos are awesome. My burrito was disappointing. Customer service was good. Try the Mexican Coca Cola

Our last night in Whistler and we were hungry for Mexican food. We decided to try The Mexican…read moreCorner as it was a short walk from our hotel, but had mixed reviews. We were seated right away and our server came over and she was really nice. We checked out the menu and decided to try the tostadas. When our server came to take our order we asked about the size of the tostadas and she said they were like street size tortillas, maybe a bit bigger. It was our fault for not asking if they came with anything, we didn't and they didn't. Mr. B ordered the Ahi Tuna Tostadas and I chose the bean and pineapple tostadas. When the dishes came out, we were a bit surprised, the tostadas were sliding around on the large plates. Each dish was $16 and what we got was definitely not worth $16. The tuna tostadas were very good, had a nice spice to them. My bean and pineapple tostadas were delicious, spicy and very flavorful. So there was no complaints about the flavor of the food. But for the price I would expect a side of rice or something. This was more like an appetizer. For $32, and what we got, I wouldn't go back. There are some really great restaurants in Whistler, and in the Village that I would prefer to try or go back to.

I came here because it was next door to a sushi place where they wanted to charge $35 for salmon…read moredon. Outrageous right? So I walked over and they advertised a prix fixe menu for $30 - I can have a three course meal for less than that single salmon don! Place looks pretty nice and is very chill. As for the prix fixe it was fantastic. Basically - one appetizer, one soup like dish and a full dish. This is what I had - - ahi tuna tostada - very well done, light and great flavour - birria quesadilla with soup - both the soup and the birria was excellent. They go well together too. The quesadilla (actually more like a fried quesadilla) was already filling by itself and the meat very succulent. - chicken enchiladas - good, I also liked the green sauce it was served with. Rice was on par too. Overall I was very very happy with this meal and would definitely come back.

Growing up and living in California, I didn't realize there would be a scarcity of Mexican food…read more So, imagine my surprise (I know. Foolish American) when my friend and I were looking for Mexican food in Vancouver. La Taqueria was somewhat near (distance wise) to the suspension bridge. Definitely not walkable. It's in a more commercial area and we had a little bit of trouble finding it, but we managed to and good thing too. The food was so much better than I was expecting. It was absolutely delicious! Super cute interior with a good amount of seating. I want to make a note that this place did NOT have down time. There was always at least one customer at the counter or in line. I ordered the birria and I wish I had gotten two. My friend is vegan and was able to easily find something on the menu. Unfortunately, I forgot what it was, but she loved it too. I will definitely come back the next time I visit!

I imagine this is probably the least known location of them all. I expect that the menu is similar at all locations though. Having tried this one...I don't think I need to try any of the other locations. The food wasn't bad, but for what we got...I think it was extraordinarily overpriced. My daughter and I both ordered one cup of Horchata each. We were both in the mood for cheese quesadilla. On the menu you can order one 10" cheese quesadilla for $9.00. There's also a Mexican style quesadillas option on the menu which offers Two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Rather than both of us ordering a separate quesadilla for $9.00 each, and then spending $18.00 total on quesadillas, we decided to share the two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Wow...these two cheese quesadillas were puny. In all fairness, the menu doesn't state the size of the two cheese quesadillas, like it does for the individual 10" quesadilla. Still though...for $15.00, it really didn't seem like very good value. The quesadillas were delicious, but for $15? Really didn't seem worth the money. We polished off the quesadillas in no time and decided to head somewhere else for some more eats.
