    Coffee with milk

On a chilly day I took the motorcycle onto the ferry for a drive up the Sunshine Coast to Pender Harbour. Without much of a plan I headed for this restaurant. It's bright inside with lots of colourful murals. I ordered coffee, it was nice and strong, with milk arriving in a little skull pot! I decided to have a cod burrito, which I think would've been fine with a regular salsa but I ordered mole. That type of sauce is a little bit too overpowering for fish so I would recommend not to do that. It wasn't the fault of the restaurant though. The burrito was very good, filling and used cabbage with rice. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I would visit this place again and maybe try it tostada or some of their other offerings.

So great. So yummy! Stop in on your way through the Sunshine Coast or if you live in the area.

I love Chile Relleno! So much that if there's a Mexican restaurant around, I for sure will go and try their Chile Relleno. This place did not disappoint at all! A lovely place and a delicious and authentic Mexican food! I ordered their Chile Relleno twice; once while I was staying in for lunch and another one for takeout. I usually add pork, which I did for the first order. Sadly, it wasn't a pulled pork, but it still was good. For the takeout I switched to chicken. It was my first time here, but I'll certainly come back again when I'm in the neighbourhood.

The flavors of the food were delicious. I had chicken enchiladas and my husband had the beef burrito. Nice outside tables. Great service.

None of the 4 of us liked our burritos. Way too much of an odd sweet sauce, no guacamole. Very expensive for what you get.

Great service and delicious food. Had the street tacos. 10-minute walk from the harbor, up hill but doable.

Food was just okay, but the service was terrible. Waited for over an hour. Would not recommend or return.

Pretty poor effort here. The quality was weak, the portions were small and the prices too high. Ole? No way.

What a disappointment! I called in a takeout order on my way to Whistler, and it seemed simple…read moreenough. Paid for the order and waited a bit. The girl preparing the food shoved all the items forward on the counter without a bag. When I asked why my takeout order wasn't in a bag, she said in a very snarky tone, "It's 89 cents for a bag". I then asked for some dips since she didn't include any, followed by another snarky: "it's a dollar". I glanced at the long lineup and debated if it was really worth lining up AGAIN to pay $2 for a bag and a dip. Note to the owners: 1. Have your staff ASK if you'd like a bag on takeout orders at the time the order is made if you're not going to just include one. 2. Ask clients if they would like to include any dips when the order is placed, so we don't have to lineup and pay twice for these basic items. When I finally got to eat the food, it was very MEH. The steak burrito was tiny and full of gristle. The tots were cold. Overall rating: This place suuuuuuuuucks and the staff are rude. Do not recommend.

Tessa was working at the counter and was super friendly. She gave me great recommendations and I got a fish taco and grilled chicken taco and they were amazing. Super fresh perfectly made, tons of flavor, great salsas, and I can't wait to come back. The manager walked by and I had to tell him how wonderful it was.

I visited Balam while on vacation, and it was so good that we ended up going back a second time…read more Balam offers a unique fusion of Peruvian, Colombian, Brazilian, and Asian-inspired dishes, and they absolutely nail it. We tried a variety of dishes across both visits, and every single one was fantastic. The balance of flavors and the way different cultures are blended together is seriously impressive. Some standout dishes: the truffle ceviche was incredible, and the black tiger prawn causa had a sauce that was absolutely fantastic. The tallarín de marisco is a must-order, we loved it so much we ordered it twice. We also had the salmon anticucho and Colombian arepa, and everything was fire. Everything tasted fresh, well thought out, and perfectly executed. You can tell a lot of care goes into each dish. If you're visiting Whistler, Balam is a must-visit. It was easily one of the best restaurants on our trip to Whistler.

It seemed like a great deal - 5 things for like $7-8 but beware that each one is TINY so you'll have to order a lot if you are hungry. Still great quality. - The anticuchos were amazing. The shrimp one in particular is really really tasty, full of flavour. The chicken one is good too with a crispy piece of something. - there is a plantain croquette with amazing sauce. Great texture and it melts in your mouth while retaining crispiness. Tiny though. - the pork tacos are great. Great flavour and I love the chimichurri sauce. - the fries are only OK. A cheese dip but otherwise not much flavour. Would love to come back for a fuller meal.
