Our last night in Whistler and we were hungry for Mexican food. We decided to try The Mexican Corner as it was a short walk from our hotel, but had mixed reviews. We were seated right away and our server came over and she was really nice. We checked out the menu and decided to try the tostadas. When our server came to take our order we asked about the size of the tostadas and she said they were like street size tortillas, maybe a bit bigger. It was our fault for not asking if they came with anything, we didn't and they didn't. Mr. B ordered the Ahi Tuna Tostadas and I chose the bean and pineapple tostadas. When the dishes came out, we were a bit surprised, the tostadas were sliding around on the large plates. Each dish was $16 and what we got was definitely not worth $16. The tuna tostadas were very good, had a nice spice to them. My bean and pineapple tostadas were delicious, spicy and very flavorful. So there was no complaints about the flavor of the food. But for the price I would expect a side of rice or something. This was more like an appetizer. For $32, and what we got, I wouldn't go back. There are some really great restaurants in Whistler, and in the Village that I would prefer to try or go back to. read more

I came here because it was next door to a sushi place where they wanted to charge $35 for salmon don. Outrageous right? So I walked over and they advertised a prix fixe menu for $30 - I can have a three course meal for less than that single salmon don! Place looks pretty nice and is very chill. As for the prix fixe it was fantastic. Basically - one appetizer, one soup like dish and a full dish. This is what I had - - ahi tuna tostada - very well done, light and great flavour - birria quesadilla with soup - both the soup and the birria was excellent. They go well together too. The quesadilla (actually more like a fried quesadilla) was already filling by itself and the meat very succulent. - chicken enchiladas - good, I also liked the green sauce it was served with. We recently enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at the Mexican Corner for our party of 6 with a baby. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful, service was prompt, minus a 30 minute wait for our table. The Birria tacos were delicious, authentic. The 3 taco dish was so good! I chose the fish taco and the carne abdobada, and the chicken. I could have eaten 3 of the fish tacos, they were perfect. I'd go back for the beef as well. Even my dude of black beans was so good. So disappointing super overpriced for the portion sizes, my chicken in the enchiladas was super dry like paper and the rice was not even cooked. The water tasted weird compared to the other restaurants around and my husband paid $36 for tacos that the portions were tiny he was not even satisfied after. The drinks were good but also insanely overpriced. We spent $100 and we learnt fast how ripped off we were. They don't even do any feature items anymore. The waitress even said everything had changed and honestly not in a good way at all. Appies everything are insanely overpriced it's ridiculous. I get inflation and the fact it's whistler but there are way better options out there even so. Good option for Mexican. Two of us came on a Thurs night around 7PM and were able to get a table right away. This was our 2nd visit (we came last year as well). It seems to be a popular place so it wouldn't be uncommon to have a wait. Festive enviornment. We started with the The Three Amigos ($18) as my son remembered it from last time - and it was the highlight of our meal. He ordered the Quesabirria Entree ($24) and enjoyed it....but he would have rather had a more quesadilla and less soup (but it was listed under soups....so it makes sense). I went with Tacos ($24) including Baja Fish, Short Rib Barbacoa and Recado Negro Chicken. The fish wasn't great as it was dominately breading and the other two were okay. The ambiance here is very chill. It's great for big groups and the service and quick & friendly. I have the Chamorro Al Piblo and the pork was cooked so well and tender. The Guacamole experience isn't much of an "experience" compared to the states where they'll make the Guac at table side but it was still delicious read more

So good! Me and my family had to walk around for about an hour trying to find a restaurant, but with a big group it was difficult. We finally settled on the Mexican Corner. It was a 30 minute wait, so I was skeptical especially because of the review average on Yelp. But the food was amazing! It was authentic from Mexico, and our server Amy was incredible and so sweet! We ordered the three amigos (best entree) though the guacamole experience isn't an experience, I don't know why it was highlighted on the menu. Get the fish tacos, might be one of the tastiest dishes there. Overall we had great service and extremely tasty food, and anyone leaving a review below three stars typically isn't reviewing the restaurant, but the wait time and the prices. read more

We were a little unsure about this place because the rating isn't stellar. However, we are both confused as to why it doesn't have better reviews. Hands down best fish tacos! I also tried the chicken tinga and the poblano taco. All three were delicious! Husband had mole verde enchiladas. He is extremely picky and enjoyed this dish. Tried a couple tequilas. Really enjoyed the don matias tahona anejo. We also ordered the salsa and chips appetizer. It was a great combination of flavors so we each had some flavors/heat that we really enjoyed. First off, this restaurant had a great ambiance, but the food I ordered was terrible! I ordered the fish tacos, and it barely had fish and was all fried batter. It literally had two bites of fish per taco, and the fish was dry. Another point is that we had a large group, and gratuity was included, but our waitress wasn't very upfront about it. My cousin saw it on her bill and then told the rest of us. I thought this was shady- just saying. Anyways I would never come back here. I will say that the others at my table did enjoy their food. Blackened ahi tuna tostadas (~$15) Ash cured and seared Ahi Tuna on crispy corn tostadas. Topped with smoky zarandeado and fresh avocado Both were incredibly flavourful. First night in Whistler, walking around the village to see what catches our eye for dinner. We saw this restaurant upstairs and Mexican food sounded good. We were able to be seated right away outside on the little deck area. It was nice sitting outside, it was warm and just a slight breeze. Ashley helped out with the menu choices and made a few suggestions for us. We liked her ideas and after I ordered the Camarones Zihuatanejo. She said that was one of the lighter plates on the menu, so that gave me the excuse to order guacamole for us. L ordered 3 different tacos on corn tortillas, short rib barbacoa, Baja fish and pork pastor. The Baja fish were battered, but GF. The Guacamole and chips came out with some side salsa too. The Guacamole was good, but the only complaint was the chips were just on the stale side. My Shrimp dish was delicious, great flavor and the shrimp had a nice grilled char flavor to it. I was licking the bowl clean the sauce was so good. Her tacos were very good, she loved the fish tacos, especially since it's rare to find GF battered fish. After extensive research for our 8th anniversary special meal, the missus and I luckily found ourselves seated in a cozy nook at The Mexican Corner, and in the process we were transported briefly to Mexico for a wholesome lunch! And following a few hours zip-lining on the snowy slopes of Whistler, the flavorful and sumptuous meal here was just what the doctor ordered. The place was jam-packed on the freezing cold evening of the Family Day holiday when we walked in not-so-confidently without a reservation in tow, but we were so relieved when the kind host promptly ushered us to a table! Having visited Mexico a couple of times in 2018-19 and having an extremely soft corner in our hearts for anything Mexican (people, food, music, vibes, hues et all), the two of us immediately fell in love with the colorful decor and vibrant ambiance, and it felt like we were somewhere we belonged. We were already feeling quite hungry when we entered the place, so the aromas wafting around simply whetted our appetites and the growling of our empty stomachs added to the buzz of the busy restaurant. Thankfully Natasha came to our rescue right away with awesome recommendations, and then served us with delish drinks and yummilicious food oh-so-quickly despite the crowd! Muchas gracias. The drinks menu is extensive with many neat cocktail options, and Mezcal lovers such as myself will be spoilt for choice. We ordered the Passionfruit Mezcalita and Oaxacan Old Fashioned, and both were yummm *hic* To get started we ordered The Three Amigos for the table, and it is a perfect starter to share. This is a not-to-be-missed combo of their signature Guacamole and Pico de Gallo served with corn tortilla chips, Molcajete salsa and Habanero hot salsa. The biggest surprise was getting to relish the Sikil Pak, something we've not experienced outside of Yucatan, let alone in Canada!? No way! For the mains, we opted for the Ash Rubbed Ahi Tuna, and it was a great choice. The Ahi Tuna is seared with a chile ash rub, and is served with silky butternut squash puree, rajas poblanas and toasted pumpkin seeds. Must try! And no Mexican meal of ours feels complete without Tacos, so we went for a choice of three - a mix & match of Short Rib Barbacoa, Pork Pastor and Duck Mole. The Duck Mole taco was the best of the lot, but the other two were ok with the Pastor being a bit on the drier side and slightly disappointing. We would've gladly opted for a dessert but sadly they don't have any on the menu. Hopefully they do plan on including some sweets to complement their savory delicacies, and though Churros would be a nice addition, given their Yucatan influence I pray that they start offering Marquesitas (another personal favorite that I'm yet to find anywhere outside of that piece of Quintana Roo)! *fingers and toes crossed* All said and done, kudos to the management and staff for recreating the Mexican experience so far away from its roots. The Mexican Corner is surely one of the best restaurants in Whistler, and possibly in the Lower Mainland too. Cheers! read more

Our first visit to Whistler in 30 years. The last place I expect for our first meal here is a Mexican restaurant. Don't we have the best in California, Texas etc etc? But this place is special. Every dish was a signature dish from a special region or village in Mexico. From the many different dips, sauces and paste, to the many different stuffing in the enchiladas, every dish was unique and tasty. Did I mention their signature cocktails? That evening, I really wanted a good margarita made from scratch....so we looked for a Mexican restaurant, thinking they would have legit margaritas....We ordered the tacos. Our favorite was the fish over any other meat ones (porc, meat, and chicken). We tried the cauliflower too and liked it a lot. The guacamole was very good. Our table was outside, in the corner by the fire pit. It was very warm and cozy, and we had the view on the mountain. We gave an overall rating of three stars because I was very disappointed with my margarita, the 1800 Cadillac (which was supposed to have 1800 tequila reposado, grand marnier, and fresh lime). The menu for margaritas is extensive...but I did not taste the tequila and grand marnier in my order...I mostly tasted the sour mix. We would go back again for the tacos we liked, the ambiance, and the view from the outside tables. I will not order the margaritas again though, just tequila/grand marnier shots. read more

There are not many options for Mexican in Whistler Village. Luckily, this is a good option! We went for lunch and were promptly seated. It is indoor only seating. There are about 5 seats at the bar and the rest are dining tables. The staff was friendly and efficient. They bring you complimentary chips and salsa. You can request a spicy salsa. It is HOT! I had the three taco plate and chose chicken, pork, and beef. My favorite was the beef. All the meat was tender and flavorful. The tacos are soft corn shell. Everything tasted fresh. My friend had the veggie tacos made with quiona and was pleased with them. You have a choice of rice, refried black beans, or a side salad. I chose the delicious black beans. If you are in the mood for Mexican food, I recommend this place. read more

We heard such good things about this place but I was slightly disappointed. Note: my cheese eating meat eating friends loved it! I ordered the guacamole and the chips were stale. The guac had nice texture but was missing some lime and salt. They ordered the cheese dish and LOVED it. They got it plain and preferred it that way. We then got tacos. I got all the vegan options (Rajas Poblanas - A blend of jalapeño, bell peppers and poblano peppers with seared onion and caramelized sweet corn. Served on a flour tortilla with melted cheese, sour cream and crispy corn tortilla strips. Baja Cauliflower - Cauliflower in our crispy corn batter, topped with fresh Baja salad, chipotle syrup and tofu zarandeado. Mole Chickpea and Zucchini - Amarillito Mole with crispy chickpeas, seared tofu, zucchini and onions. Topped with radish and cilantro.) The tacos were packed full of toppings. This was our last meal of our 5-day trip to Whistler where we had the most amazing food. This was the most expensive and disappointing meal we had. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. My expensive specialty margarita barely had any tequila in it. My tortilla soup was basically tomato soup that they served with feta...no cotija cheese. Their beef fajitas was more like a stew. I'm not sure what regional Mexican dishes these were but they did not hit right. Our service was quick and friendly. The decor was nice. Update (again) as of January, 2025. They stopped taking reservations during the winter. So they take "reservations" during off-season when NO ONE NEEDS ONE, and then stop when customers actually need one to get a table. So re-stating what I said in my first review, don't even think about trying to take an actual family to this "family" Mexican Restaraunt unless your kids are able to wait for hours.
