The manager attending the counter told me my order wasn't ready yet, but it will be done in 2-3 minutes. I waited 40 more mins. No acknowledgment of how bad that was, just excuses from the manager. What a little treasure. We snuck in here while our son was at parkour class. Very pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and had a depth of flavor we didn't expect. We got the garlic naan, which was fresh and warm. The tikka masala was fantastic! Huge chunks of chicken. The Szechwan fried rice was just the right amount of spicy for me, but my husband wants to go spicier next time. He loves the spicy food! They allow you to choose your level of heat, which is always appreciated. Worth the trip to check it out. I went to have Biryani and hakka noodles at this place today. I must say I did not enjoy my food. Biryani was tasteless and so was the Hakka noodles. Everyone leave it to this place if I do not find Indian food for long time anywhere else and if I get too desperate otherwise indefinitely try to avoid this place because the food is quite bad. Getting our visit we figured like they do not take orders in person instead they ask you to use a QR code to basically place the orders. the website is not smooth enough and the experience kind of slips away from there. We had a wonderful dine-in experience at Salt N Pepper. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. We ordered the chicken lollipops, tikka masala, garlic naan, and our server suggested we try the "green" chicken kebab. We are so glad we took his suggestion. The kebab was incredibly juicy and the bright green color is not food coloring but due to the marinade of fresh cilantro, mint, and other spices. Please try it you won't be disappointed. After lunch we were offered a complimentary cup of warm chai tea. It was a nice finish to a great meal. We love to support family owned restaurants as they seem to go above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of. We look forward to returning soon! read more

Wow! This is definitely a staple to add in the rotation. The food had great flavor and just the spice level I asked for. The rice was amazing and fluffy, not greasy and sticky. I was very excited to see a new Indian restaurant open up in the neighborhood. However, the excitement didn't last too long! Food: Food was ok. Singapore noodles was better than the rest. Samosas are the worst. Oversized, oily and pathetic filling. Service: - We went to this place as a group of 6 and a kid. Though we were seated quickly, they didn't have an additional kid chair. We had to wait for another party to leave and still were not offered the chair. - The service was so slow. They forgot some dishes. - The menus were printed on paper. - No one came to check on us while we were waiting. - The Togo orders took forever. Ambience: Nothing new. It's the same as the one from Masala Wok. No changes were made and hence doesn't look like a new restaurant. By far the worst Indian restaurant I've been to in Austin. read more

What can I say it's a good enough Indian restaurant for the cedar park area. Satisfies your Indian food craving but doesn't really standout. I'd go again just cause of how close it is. I had the tandoori half chicken and for 8.99 it was a pretty good deal. The other dishes seemed a little pricey but it's consistent with other restaurants I think. The NAAN isn't prices correctly on the menu but I think it was off by like 25 cents so not a big deal. I went around 5 and the owner or manager on duty that day was eating and talking across the restaurant which was a little unappealing but I took it to go. We tried out this place last night and it was good. We ordered the chicken biryani & we liked it except it was a little dry and I had bitten 3 pieces of bone crumbs and my husband did the same. It would be nice if our server mentioned the sauce they gave is serve with the chicken biryani. He just put the sauce on the table & said nothing. We may have enjoyed the chicken biryani more if we knew a sauce was served with it. Next we had the Tandori chicken, our favorite. It is juicy and flavorful. We also ordered the Sag Paneer in which we were very disappointed that it tasted bland. We ordered this dish in every Indian restaurant and it always have this nice pungent spiciest in the flavor. It wasn't a bad dish at all. It was more like baby puréed spinach with chunks of cheese. If you never had this dish before you might just like it. As our appetizer we had the garlic naan. It was good, but we had better. An employee/manager asked us how was our experience as we walked out. As my husband explained to him, he didn't listen. Instead, he blew my husband off and continue to talk to his fellow worker. But we know this is a typical Indian culture. They show concern, but don't respond. Another thing, the servers never smile and avoids to make friendly conversations. But at least they are able to take our orders. We like the fact all servers worked in teamwork's because we were serve by 3 other different servers. We will give this restaurant a 2nd chance to try out their other dishes. Or we may just stick to our regular Indian restaurant at Teji's Indian Restaurant. We ordered Lamb, goat, basil rice, garlic naan, and pan fried birayni today. I'm ALWAYS the "glass half full" kinda girl but I spent over $85 and this food was horrible. It was hot but had no real flavor. I was excited to finally have goat after so long but all I found was mostly bones. We had lamb chops - couldn't eat rose either. They tasted too gamey. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the food here! My friend has been wanting to try it since it opened, and we finally went for lunch recently. Their lunch specials have a TON of food for a great price, and I loved every bite of all my items. The service was speedy and attentive, and I can't wait to come back. Note to restaurant: PLEASE stop giving out plastic water bottles! It feels tacky and is so wasteful. I don't understand why you are doing that, but seriously, cut it out immediately. Just provide customers with cups/glasses of water and wash them with the rest of your dishes. Another note to restaurant: Why are you called Dine and WINE if you don't serve alcohol?? You need to get that sorted out. Please either get a liquor license or change your name. It's weird and false advertising if you ask me. And did I mention weird? One more note to restaurant: Can you get some laminated menus? The paper menus get dirty and feel like I'm using a take-out menu. Too many things wrong. I've been to this restaurant a few times before. While the food is pretty good, there are too many things wrong for me to continue going back. First, when I place a large order to go, I always walk out missing something. The first time it was chole batura. The second time it was the garlic naan. I don't trust that my order will be there, so I always have to check everything diligently before leaving. Second, the hours posted on the door (and therefore on Yelp) are completely wrong. They are not open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the week or on Sundays, like the stickers on their door states. Instead, they close in the afternoon and then reopen at 5:30. Yet nothing on Yelp or on their door states this. How much does it cost to change a sticker? They have been open for several months now. They need to invest in some stickers to change the hours on the door. The restaurant biz is cut-throat; if these guys don't get a clue on how to run a proper business then they won't be here in a year. read more

Ive eaten here twice in the past month. Both times the food was very good and the staff are very friendly and courteous.

A couple things to note about this restaurant: The Food: The food is great and everything I've tried has come out to my liking or better. No complaints here. The Ambiance: Feels like it was designed on a massively small budget. They took what was left over from Masala Wok and changed up a few minor things. As some who frequented Masala Wok and their other locations, this just makes it feel like Salt and Pepper struggles with their own identity and brand. Service: The people are very nice and polite and got my order quickly. My chief complaint is that I can never tell, when walking in, if they intended it to be a sitdown restaurant or fast casual, where you order at the counter. They have a tiny paper menu at the counter which is very difficult to read. That said, they have 3 TVs that are never on. They should put those to use and and place them behind the counter on the wall, and put their menu on the screens. This would make it easier to order and make it feel more like a modern fast casual. read more

Dining in was a one star experience but the food was a solid 4 stars... the service was confusing, horribly slow and lacked communication and well SERVICE. My tikka masala order took an hour and me reminding 3 different people I hadn't received my order yet. The order came out backwards... one entree first, then naan, then appetizer, then dessert and then finally our last entree.
