Spicy Sriracha Burger
Matthew M.

With Moonies now a "has-been" , this local burger option will shine. Still searching for that local burger spot , for a long time it was moonies. With their recent departure and now subpar quality at their new location - the search was revisited. Sure - there are options. But they are lacking somewhere. So after driving passed the sign for 'KATSU BURGER'for the last few weeks. It was time. Pro-tip: Katsu Burger is INSIDE 'Cocky Teriyaki". It was at this moment I almost moved on . You know how they have those KFC/Taco Bell inside a gas station? Call me a snob, but NO THANKS. I went in anyways and was greeted. That was no expected. I have completed some online research of what I would order, but when I arrived I lost all train of thought. The place smelled amazing- staff was engaged and friendly- and it was kind of busy. Very surprised as "yak-n-yeti" ( top 5 in cedar park btw) are really the only experiences I have had in this shopping center I have. I guess it always seems droll and unoccupied. I digress. I ordered a Japanese bbq and a spicy sriracha burger- cause you know I like to watch the world burn- and was told it was going to be a while. They hand press and mold their burgers per order. After 25 min - out came my trophies. Wow. Just wow. I mean look at the pics! I opted for the beef. You can choose chicken ( Katsu) or pork. Brioche bun, cabbage , Japanese Mayo and a very juicy grilled to perfection burger. No, I did. It eat everything. I order two things whenever I try a new place just incase one is better etc, . Japanese bbq burger was rich and savory. The bbq sauce was sweet and spicy. This item had crispy onion straws and cabbage which made for an amazing crunch. The same thing for the sriracha burger. The creamy Mayo ( which I don't ever order anything with Mayo, but was curious ) added a pleasant cooling effect for this spicy burger. Solid menu too. I will return to try the curry burger for sure. My only reason for not giving a 5 was at no fault to the food or staff - the establishment had a pretty gross bathroom that was tucked away in a dirty store room. I did not appear to impact any service for quality as I write this. Otherwise a solid 5 this place would have scored. Thanks for eating with me today. I'll see you next time.

chicken in katsu sauce. Delicious. Definitely worth a try!

Food was horrible. Clearly not fresh. Friend of mine who knows the owner says they lie about what is made to order on the menu

I will say they used spinach instead of bok choy for the vegetable but I was ok with that. The service is super fast, too. They provide a spicy chili sauce and vinegary soy sauce if you need an extra kick of spice or flavor.

It looked like they expanded their menu since the last time we ate here. We opted for a Shoyu Beef Ramen Soup and a Hot Pot Beef Noodle Soup. We grabbed our water cups and a carafe filled with iced water from their beverage fridge, and chose our table to sit at. We chose a location away from the front entrance, which faces west towards the sun. Our food was quickly brought out to us less than 5 minutes later, and our soups were very good. They have a very spicy broth for their Hot Pot Noodle Soup, which P2 really enjoyed. I was also happy with my shoyu ramen, which I thought was seasoned perfectly. The music here wasn't loud and it was easy to carry a conversation. The interior aesthetics of this place reminded me of a Japanese restaurant, despite this restaurant servicing Taiwanese fare. Unfortunately, they don't sell alcohol here. I would have loved to drink a beer here with its solid vibes. I took off a star because of the blinding sunlight that pours into the space. Each time we came, we had to be strategic on where we sat so that we or our friends didn't have to face the sun. But other than that, Noodly Alley continues to be a reliable choice for authentic Taiwanese food.

Henry was a very good server. Seems to enjoy his job. I stopped in for lunch. I have eaten here…read moremany times before. It has been one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants-and one of the only places to serve the Vietnamese pancake that I love. I sat down, getting ready to contemplate the menu. I was shocked to see it was a brand new menu. I asked my server about it, and he concurred that it is a new menu, but that the owners had taken many of the former choices off. . NO more fried rice-always my grandson's favorite. Although I was disappointed when it was time to order, I chose the Mixed Protein Bun. I requested shrimp and eggrolls. It is a bowl filled with rice noodles, shredded lettuce, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and your choice of protein. It also comes with a generous portion of fish sauce. After one bite, I knew that the old chef must have left. My food was so bland. To start with, I don't think it was salted at all..... which quite often affects the flavors negatively. There were no other spices or sauce or anything tasty in my bowl. I was very disappointed. I didn't even eat a quarter of the Bun. I didn't take the rest to go and I won't be returning, unless I see that they have returned to their former style of cooking. So I'll definitely be watching the reviews. It makes me very sad to have to write a negative review, especially about a place. I have enjoyed so much in the past!!!

Interesting my wife found the Banh Leo excellent ( which it usually is ) but I found it a tad greasy this time. Regardless this is a great place for lunch, and will be back!

They are in a "soft opening" phase currently, and we got to meet the owner who was very enthusiastic about his business, the community, and garnering any feedback we had. The food is - in one word, impeccable. We went in for a snack and ended up ordered 4x as much as we meant to because everything was so darn delicious. The menu consists of baos, sushi, hand rolls, adorable pearl shaped nigiri, bento, and more - they are all customizable with yummy sauces (miso butter - mmm!), and many types of protein (seriously like all the protein options you can find at a premium sushi bar). Everything is served with house made sauces so if you are a condiment gal/guy like me this is your place! Food - I had the escolar, unagi, and scallop hand rolls (all under $5 each) and was so surprised by the quality / freshness of the protein and the portions given. The escolar was so soft and buttery. I then ordered the shrimp fresh roll (also under $5, it was HUGE) and the chicken katsu baos (around $6-7) - they were amazing. The chicken tenders are panko crusted and fried crispy. BF tried the steak baos and LOVED them too. Okay also did I mention the PRICES?! You can't get quality food like that for a greater deal. Drinks are all $8 and hit the spot :) The interior is not completely redone / set up yet but I can't to come back when it is! The phone / QR code system makes it so easy to order. It is pretty cheap, but the serving sizes match the price, not really filling you up. The baos were pretty good. The char siu pork belly didn't look the most appealing. But it smelled and tasted pretty decent. They give you a good amount of meat too. The turmeric chicken was pretty good too, I really liked the seasoning on this one. The sushi was ok though. The presentations was super cute, with the little sushi balls! But the fish itself didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. The workers were all really friendly though. You can practically see inside the whole kitchen when you walk in, so it's a little unsettling walking in and seeing all the workers like standing there waiting for you to put your order in online, but interacting with them, they were really friendly.
