Had a reservation for 7 to celebrate a bridal brunch. This was the perfect place for a light and healthy brunch! We started with a carafe of mimosas for the table, BYO so we were able to choose our juice of choice. The mimosas were champagne heavy with a splash of pomegranate juice, just the way I like them. I had the kale Caesar wrap with a side of greens. I loved the dressing on the greens! I wish the Caesar wrap came with more dressing but the kale was soft and there was a lot of chicken in the wrap! My new favorite fast casual place in Charlotte! I don't really change my order here, so I always get the Five Star Steak sandwich (minus mayo), sub for a side of watermelon salad, and add a pasta salad as well if I'm feeling super hungry. Love all those things every single time, they're soooooo yummy. The steak sandwich is sweet, yet savory, a perfect combo (I don't like mayo much, so I always get it without because I think the fig jam and tomatoes gives enough flavoring). The watermelon salad is so refreshing, and love the "bite" the pickled red onions and feta give it. The pasta salad is filling and yummy, though I do always pick around the olives (olives aren't my fave) - the combo with the corn and sweet potatoes is very unique. Service is always friendly here. When I've sat inside at the bar, I've had very fast and kind service. Also yummy mimosas with the right orange juice to sparkling wine ratio. When I've ordered to go, it's exactly as I ordered it, and everyone is kind when I'm picking it up. The South End location can get a bit busy on the weekends, but I was there on a Sunday mid afternoon last time, and there was plenty of bar seating still available. Came here since it's near the office. It's big space provides lots of seating options. They have barstools/table at the windows (great for solo dining) and tables throughout the side and back areas. You order and then they'll call your name when order is ready for pick up at the station by the register. There is also a full bar. I haven't had any of their drinks but wanted to note it. I always get the chicken caesar salad wrap and truffle fries. The wrap is dry af! I usually ask for an extra dressing or 2 so that I don't choke. The chicken is grilled and appears to be the frozen kind. Not fresh chicken. Bland, the flavor comes from the dressing. The truffle fries are my favorite part when cooked well. Not included with the wrap, but I add it on the side to be full. They're shoestring width and have the right amount of flavor and parmesan cheese. Sometimes they can be overcooked and appears brown instead of golden. They have an app for online orders. Good if you want to order ahead and pick up without waiting. And you earn points. Overpriced. Although the restaurant seemed quite busy, our party of 3 was seated immediately. We ordered lattes which came out super quick. My daughter ordered the "Poke Me Bowl," my husband ordered the Steak & Eggs and I ordered the "Farmer Breakfast" with the eggs over medium. All of our items were fresh and the food came out quickly. Our server was attentive and friendly. We spent a little time browsing through the store part of the restaurant after we finished our meal and we were all impressed with the variety and the many options for healthy treats. Salted Melon Market and Eatery Service - 7.5 We had a 1:00 reservation, but got caught in traffic. As soon as I realized we were going to be late, I called and notified the restaurant. They said it would be no problem. When we arrived at 1:18, I gave the young lady at the hostess stand my name and she said "our grace period is only 15 minutes just wait over there." I explained that I'd called ahead. She shrugged and walked off. A minute later a very sweet young lady approached and took us straight on our table. (Note: the restaurant was less than half full) From that point on service was great, but first impressions make a difference. Ambiance - 8.0 Nice and bright with a cute market and bakery component. Food - 2.5 Note: we did speak with a manager. She said her executive chef was on vacation and they were training a new chef. Truffle Fries - slightly salty but good. Beignets - these came out completely raw in the center... not soft, but fully uncooked dough. Salted caramel had no salt and the raspberry sauce tasted like Smuckers. Steak and eggs - steak was unseasoned, over seared but barely rare inside. But the hollandaise sauce was the texture of scrambled eggs (see pic). Fried eggs and breakfast potatoes were fine. Poke Bowl - nothing in the bowl had been seasoned, except for the quick pickles, which were good. The tuna was room temperature, with no chill at all. It felt unsafe to eat. Overall - 3.5 Caveat - I spoke with the manager, because I hate seeing reviews and then the manager responds saying they had no idea there were concerns. That's unfair to them. After describing the meal experience, she apologized, explained the issues in the kitchen and comped the entire meal (I asked her multiple times not to and I tipped on the total original check amount). She also gave us a gift card in hopes we would return, but I honestly don't think we will. Hopefully others have had a better experience. read more

It's definitely a yummy latte but only had the smallest hint of blueberry flavor. Maybe the blue matcha would've been better? My partner got the strawberry fields forever latte. I have been to Salted Melon once and loved their caprese sandwich. Loved the interior. More recently I ordered delivery and got their Miss Melon smoothie, Berry Patch juice, and Avocado toast. I'm sure the delivery speed impacted my experience but everything was SO good. The smoothie was clearly fresh and had some small watermelon chunks. I visited this location during restaurant week and had the best time! We happened to be there on martini night where all martinis including the custom espresso martini menu were $10! I opted with a salted caramel flavor and toasted marshmallow on top. It was dessert before dinner and I have no regrets- perfection! We did the pre fix menu and enjoyed our prosciutto cups with cheese and fig as a starter. I had the steak frites which I forgot to take a pic of and it was good, not great and I would opt to try a different menu item next time. We ordered at the front, and got a number and a food runner brought our stuff out to us. The restaurant itself was very large and had a little market inside as well. I don't want to sound dramatic, but this kale caesar might've been one of the best I've ever had. I usually am not big on kale, but it was wonderfully incorporated in this salad and didn't overpower it. The steak was excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned for my taste. My go-to choice is usually an avocado toast with a poached egg or the Fancy Farmer bowl. "That's How I Bowl" is extremely delicious and satisfying; the chorizo spice really adds a twist, and I absolutely love this dish for my breakfast. My boyfriend usually chooses a Five-star Steak sandwich or a Street Car bowl. Both are delicious, and the meat is great. By the way, the portion sizes of all dishes are huge. Coffee-wise, it's not my favorite place, but if you have your coffee with flavored syrup, it will not disappoint you. The place gets quite busy closer to lunch time. If you decide to sit in their cafe area, the service can be pretty slow, but you can make an order at their to-go station and get your food faster, but in a takeaway package. They also have a cute market inside with different snacks, international food, and a deli.
