Went there on August 20. I was expecting an overpriced Logan's. But it was very good. Food was perfect. Little pricey. But I'll be back.

Absolutely love this place. The drinks are delicious, appetizers are fast and hot, and the steaks are phenomenal. The wait staff is always knowledgeable about the menu. Mine and my husband favorite part of going is to see a particular bus boy- he is fast and efficient and puts all the others to shame. Next time you're in, look for this guy, he's fantastic to watch him complete his work. read more

The food was COLD. The butter on top of the steak, I used on my bread. I took home most of the meal and reheated it in the oven. It was delicious. It the old saying in the restaurant business, never go on Sunday or Monday because the "A" team is off. read more

Wow wow wow.... Talk about the best service in town! S.O. and I ate at the bar (cause we're godless heathens according to my grandma), and our bartender named Summer was rocking it. Lately we've had a run of poor service in Amarillo and Summer restored our faith that servers in this town can actually use their critical thinking skills and pickup on context clues. She started us off with the quail legs appetizer and we almost ordered that again for desert. Amazing. Then I ordered a margarita that was so good, I was allowed to skip confessional the following Sunday. #blessed Saltgrass is always a favorite, however they out-did themselves this time. Rubeye was great! A little thin, but taste great. Drinks are to expensive for the atmosphere. Service (Elisa) was also very good.

When I usually come here I get the 8 oz steak with 2 sides of fries and some fried mushrooms. I am never disappointed with the service of this place. Sometimes I get a steak cooked a little too well but nevertheless I still lick my plate clean. Their food has so much flavor with an old country atmosphere. Best steak in Amarillo! Love the shrimp with cream cheese and BBQ sauce. Can't be good for you but...YUM! If you go when they are busy or get a lousy server it can ruin the experience. Happened to us last time. Hopefully it won't again. Would hate to not go back. I'd miss the shrimp. read more

I was looking forward to a good steak, unfortunately they couldn't figure out how to cook a filet that wasn't cold in the center. After 3 times sending it back the manager asked if I wanted something else. I wanted it medium, not rare and raw in the center. It's not that difficult to do. Highly disappointed. read more

We stopped in Amarillo on a cross-country trip and wanted steak. After checking Yelp, we decided that the Saltgrass Steak House sounded perfect--and it was very close to our hotel on I-40. Easy to get to, fun ambiance--lots of Texas relics as decorative accents, but the main events, food and service were both outstanding. I had a caesar salad, followed by a ribeye steak with blue cheese butter. The steak was great, but the blue cheese butter was unnecessary and detracted from the steak's own excellent flavor. Not necessary. I also had sweet potato fries, which were delicious! The wait staff were wonderful--highly trained and skilled at anticipating our needs and bringing food to table with a flourish. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in Amarillo. read more

We didn't care for the steaks. They have good seasoning but were tough, plus I'm not a fan of charbroiled steak. The ribs however, wow. They were excellent, falled off the bone, as advertised on the menu. Good seasoning and tasty BBQ sauce. Baked potato was good but incredibly dry, greens salad was good, french fries were too salty to eat. I'd go back for those ribs though. read more

I love this restaurant. My husband and I went there for date night. The steaks are very well cooked. My favorite appetizer is the seafood fondue. The service is always top notch. I would reccomend Saltgrass to anyone looking for a great place to eat. Tim the manager always greets us with a smile and a handshake and always makes sure we are very well taken care of. read more

Ok here's the deal. Every Yelp restaurant review has some people who like the food and some people who don't. I don't read yelp reviews to find out if a restaurant is good (I will be the judge of that), but I do read them to find out if there are other problems. I expect restaurants to have good service and good food. This rating is not about the restaurant or the food. It is about the manager. The problem was that I ordered two drinks with dinner; my first was a double and the 2nd was a single. The waitress misunderstood the 2nd drink order and brought me another double. I did not know it until the bill came since there is no difference in the glass size, just the amount of alcohol in the glass. I explained that that she had incorrectly charged me for two doubles. She apologized and went to talk to the manager. So far so good. Then the manager came and said that since I drank it, I had to pay for it. I explained that I didn't know it was a double since they come in the same size glass, but she wouldn't budge. I don't know about anyone else, but I have had singles that taste like doubles and doubles that taste like singles. So I trust in the waitress to bring me what I order or correct what should have been a simple mistake. This was an issue that should have been handled between the manager and the waitress, not the manager and the customer. In this case the manager cost her waitress a $16 tip on the meal instead of accepting a simple $6 mistake on the drink. Poor customer service and poor management. read more

Very very very good restaurant, really good service even when the restaurant is completely full with customers. The food was delicious and the beer is cold. I did try their frozen whiskey and coke and it's so good I highly recommend trying it. I order a steak and in the middle it wasn't cooked how I wanted it so, I told our waitress and they brought back a whole another steak that was cooked perfect to my liking. read more

I called in my order and arrived to pick it up at least 10 minutes after they told me to (about 45 minutes from calling to place) and I still had to wait an additional 20 minutes. Not sure what the hold up was but there was a dust storm going on so I didn't figure they would be super busy. Maybe better to dine in. read more

Horrible food and slow service. I ordered prime rib and it came out looking like it had sat on the counter all day. It was dry and worst of all incredibly tough. I couldn't even chew most of the pr. So disappointing, especially at $20. The simple dinner salad had less than 1 tsp of ranch on it and was partially frozen. The waitress meant well but she was overworked and we were left waiting for over ten minutes for our bill. Awful experience and we will never repeat a visit. read more

I received several phone calls from Saltgrass with reference to my review. While I appreciate the customer service after the fact. I was only assured that they would. " take good care of me when and if I returned" unfortunately that will not happen as my travels bring me to other destinations. As this is a chain of restaurants they might have suggested something in the way of a gift card. But it must be company policy because if it were a singular restaurant they might of thought twice. Came here because it was across the street from my hotel. I had already driven for 7 hours and wasn't interested in driving anywhere else. Didn't have to wait for a table at 7:30pm which was nice, and the steak and shrimp were really really good. The food didn't take long to get either. The manager (I honestly forget his name) introduced himself and made sure everything exceeded my expectations. Maybe could be a 3 Star but was hoping for a nice Texas steak on our way from STL to Taos and was staying at a hotel nearby. Saw this place and quickly checked Yelp for some help. Seemed good at 4 stars and some decent comments. I am not sure why, maybe fairly low bar for places around here by disappointed for sure. Salad was fine and decent steak but limited sides and the ones we got (mashed potatoes and fried onions for some reason) we cold and bland. Asked for replacements and were the same. Wasted night in Texas. Try somewhere else but maybe we just had a bad night (Sunday). Nice wait staff and friendly read more

We love Salt Grass and eat at many across the state often. The food was great but the service was terrible. We got our food and then was told our kids food would be right out, we didn't see our waitress for about 15 minutes we were done eating and then she pops up and says their food will be right out. Well okay, we were finished eating so we asked for boxes and to speak to a manager. The manager never came over we had to go hunt him down. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the food itself was good. read more
