Disappointed with my visit to Saltgrass Steak House. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done, and the mac and cheese was cold. The place wasn't even a quarter full, yet the service was very slow. For the price, the food and service didn't match the cost. Overpriced for the experience. read more

First time coming to saltgrass in a while. No hostess stationed in the front so it took a while to be seated. Some parties left due to the wait. Took a while for me to get the loaf of bread and I thought about just cashing out my ticket for the loaf of bread and drinks because I had a feeling things weren't going to be worth my time and/or efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were also pretty busy when I came in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, in the end Saltgrass still presented me with a wonderful plate of the 10 oz sirloin with broccoli and a house salad. The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. House salad with ranch was very tasty despite a few pieces of brown lettuce. Visiting Saltgrass Steak House was such a good experience for my family and me. We have gone in the past, and the food and service were just as good this time. With a party of thirty or more, we have learned to make reservations, and this year we did. Our food was hot, delicious, and served promptly. Hats off to our servers, Tajuanna and Citlaly, who attended to all of us for change orders, additional appetizers, and individualized attention. I visited on a Saturday night and although it was busy the hostess greeted me promptly and sat me with smile on her face. My favorite greeted me and was very friendly. I explained to her that years ago I had tried a drink that I liked and when I explained it to her she knew exactly what I was talking about although it was no longer on the menu. She went to the bar and came back with exactly that drink. We had great service from Tina. All of my food came out perfectly cooked and at the right temperature. Halfway through the meal, the manager came out to check and make sure we were enjoying our visit. I am throughly dissatisfied with my experience tonight at salt grass in Bossier City. It was 4:48pm. The prime rib was not ready. I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken with a loaded baked potato no sour cream. The potato came with no chives and no side of ranch as requested. My entree was not what I ordered as I was brought a red centered Country Fried Steak. The appropriate whiskey for the Old Fashion was unavailable. Not to mention the long wait for the table to be cleaned outside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were very few customers in the restaurant and staff standing around upon arrival.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress was nice but was tried to convince me that the potato was what I ordered. Then to fix it, she brought back a plain potato with no fixings saying she would bring it out separately. HORRID smell that is unacceptable. This is the strangest experience I've ever had at a restaurant. It was clear that something was rotting potentially the wooden boards on the wall. At first we thought another customer had a very upset stomach, but it was clearly coming from booth area itself. The smell was so horrible we considered leaving the restaurant entirely. Truly made us gag. This needs to be addressed urgently. We notified our waiter, but moving tables wasn't an easy solution with their wait time after we had already previously been waiting. Thankfully, at the time we had a good sense of humor about the whole situation and just laughed off how truly crazy and horrible it was. Makes for a hilarious and gross story we'll share with the family that's for sure. Not the reputation any restaurant should want or any exhausted traveler should have to experience like we did. Still can't believe we stayed to eat, but we sat at the farthest edge of our booth away from the wall to avoid the smell. After reading some previous reviews about a roach problem, just avoid this location and I only hope people read this before going. Despite the obvious reasons for the bad review, our waiter, Nathan, was truly wonderful and the only reason we're not rating this restaurant one star! He was very kind and attentive and our food was surprisingly good. The location itself is interesting as most of the shops in that boardwalk have been shut down. The boardwalk is pretty much closed, so there really isn't a reason to go there. I went to Saltgrass for a work event after not going for a really long time. I literally had to make another Yelp account (I forgot the login to my other one) My husband and I came to Saltgrass tonight cause we were going to the casinos so we thought we would eat out first. Our server was Lindsey (not sure if I spelled it right) but she was GREAT. Super attentive and sweet as can be. Everything was amazing food wise and service wise, but the best part was the manager Derrik. He came by to talk to us and spent like like 5 minutes letting us know what casinos were the best around town (we have young kids and don't get out much - haha!) My husband ordered a 12 oz ribeye rare. It came out 1/4 inch thick and overcooked. Didn't even eat half of it. My burger was very over cooked as well. It was much passed well done. Manager never came to check on us. Service was ok, but the meat was terrible. Definitely not worth $60 . We tried to offer feedback to Landry, but website isn't working. The food was SO good. My Wedge Salad was the best I've had in a long time. My Chopped Steak with grilled onions and mushrooms was perfect. Great experience from beginning to end! My wife and I were seated fairly quickly in Lindsey's section. She was personable and on top of everything. Made great suggestions, was always available but not hovering. The manager, Derrick, brought out our appetizer and spoke with us for a bit. He was engaging and made a couple more stops at our table before we left. The rattlesnake eggs were Lindsey's suggestion and they were AMAZING! She wasn't writing about the ribeye either. So tender, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The green beans were different than I've ever had and they had this seasoning on them that was just perfect. We could hear each other without speaking too loudly too, which is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, this location was by far the best I've ever been to. The only downside is the location.
