I've had SaltGrass here in Longview a few time and it's been a decent place to grab a bite but tonight was an unexpected turn. My medium rare ribeye came out more well-done than my wife's medium steak. Flavor was on a steep downhill slope and not coming back up. I wasn't able to finish my steak and left very disappointed. Hopefully this was just an off night and things start to turn around. Also when you wait 30 minutes for your meal you start losing your appetite. One more thing was we weren't brought any bread that's another reason I enjoy SaltGrass but after tonight I can only pray it gets better, won't be returning for awhile after tonight. I understand COVID procedures so I ordered my dinner as curb side to go. My steaks were supposed to be medium well 1 ribeye 10 oz and 1 ribeye 16 oz. they were so bloody they bled onto the fries. The side salad and seasoned green beans were wonderful but I wanted my steak! When staying at a hotel you can't just cook it although I did try to microwave it and was not In the mood for shoe leather as a main entree. We checked in with the hostess, said it would be 35 min, even tho the place looked empty . So we went to the bar to wait. After a glass of wine, wife went to ask how much longer, she said she forgot about us and seated us right away. So we waited and waited for a waiter. we ordered a filet and ribeye along with 3 baked potatos and salads. we received a sirloin with green beans and 2 side salads. we live 15 minutes away and of course the driver left before we discovered we didn't get what we ordered. it's been a year since we have ordered food from there because they did the same thing then! when I called the restaurant they literally told me they didn't have the steak we ordered. I had the ribeye with the crab Oscar topping and it was delicious! I loved it. The bread was a little stale but I ate it anyway lol. The service was the only slight issue. My server didn't come back. I flagged another server for the extra ranch I asked for and later a Togo box. Everyone was very nice just the one guy was forgetful lol. I had a great meal. read more

Went yesterday & when I say everything went wrong. Drink, food was wrong, took 45 minutes for my food. She brought my salad with just lettuce..... blank stare.... Steak was rare I ordered medium well.... so I had wait an additional 10 minutes, even my drink was wrong. Management came over spoke with me but didn't do much of anything to ease the situation. I didn't ask for a discount kinda wanted to see how it was gonna play out. I have no problem paying full price for the last time. I won't be returning anywhere where I'm treated like that! We were promised a private room over a week ago when we made a reservation. We show up and were seated at a normal table. When we asked about our room the manager said he knew about our reservation but the room had already been filled when we called and the person on the phone didn't know that. So not only were they not going to tell us that our reservation changed but he did nothing to even attempt to make it up to us. Our waiter Rio was wonderful and friendly and even offered to put the cake we brought in the fridge while we ate. We were brought half of our food and then had to wait at least 10 minutes for the rest of our table to be fed. The shrimp came out over cooked with burnt shell stuck to it. Both steaks were brought out undercooked. The only reason we are giving two stars and not one is because of our waiter Rio! read more

The hype was only during the grand opening. After awhile it just died down like any other restaurant that just newly open. Ordered two dinners and a drink and the tab came to about 70$. The bbq shrimp is the best of all and the steak was perfectly fine. Love their Caesar salad. I do recommend this place if you are looking to dine here once and a while. read more

Came here for our 34th Anniversary today we had a very long wait which was fine because we wanted a booth it didn't seem super busy but we waited almost 45 minutes finally got seated in the bar area Lacey was our server. We told her it was our anniversary and we where very hungry as we hadn't eaten all day and ordered an appetizer of the fried pickles and fried peppers. It took a very very long time nearly 25 minutes finally we got them and where ready to order we both orders steak and shrimp one steak was a 6 oz. the other an 8 oz there was quiet a bit of time that lapsed before we got our salads but they did make it to the table after about 20 minutes we ate them pretty quick since we hadn't eaten all day about another 30 or more minutes still no food our waitress came to our table and told us she forgot to put our order in. It was supposed to be ten minutes but it ended up being longer I had to ask for bread it was cold and barely any butter, finally our steaks came they where supposed to be medium rare they where literally raw macaroni and cheese was dry as a bone it took the available manager a while and he had us pay for our appetizer and drink read more

This is our second visit to Longview, and second visit to Saltgrass. We were greeted by the manager and we requested to sit in the bar for a few appetizers. The Brisket Queso and chips were amazing as well as the Nashville Hot Chicken Tenders. We then were served by Meagan and she is an amazing asset to Saltgrass as an awesome server. I never give bad reviews but I feel I have to in this case. Saltgrass has been my wife's and my go to spot for great quality food and experience. We went today for a late lunch so we weren't expecting a great experience as far as over all dinning goes. But we did expect a great meal. Ordered a 6oz filet and a 16oz ribeye, both medium rare. Got steaks and they were very rare. We never send stuff back but we were really steak hungry. They went back to the kitchen and they came back slightly less than rare. Needless to say we didn't eat steak. Manager took steaks off and the bill was $21 We tipped $21 dollars because it wasn't the servers fault. I've been to several salt grass steakhouses and this is by far the most abysmal experience I've ever had. My fried shrimp was undercooked to the point the batter was dripping off. Three off our steaks were undercooked as if this great cow was alive and well in my mouth mooing. Disappointing for a Saltgrass!! Need a lot of work on their customer service. No one was at the hostess station so it took a bit to get seated. Should have known at that point should have left to find somewhere else to have dinner. I ordered the rib eye medium rare, and my son got the steak from the kids menu medium. Both temperatures were wrong and the steaks were very dry. I also ordered some grilled shrimp which our server didn't bring and said she forgot to put that in. She then asked if I still wanted it. Well, I wouldn't have ordered it if I really didn't want it. I had broccoli for my side that was well over cooked and almost mushy. Also, just as slow was our food coming out as it was to get seated. And the normal bread... well, that looked more like a dinner roll. Our server even warned us when she brought it that "the bread isn't very good today". Not that I've ever been to Longview before, but if I'm ever here again I won't be going to Saltgrass! I drove past Texas Roadhouse after dinner and their parking lot was much busier.
