The kitchen has communication issues definitely. Ordered an entree Caesar salad with salmon,…read moredressing on the side. I was presented with two side Caesar salads, one with dressing and one without. Waited another 15 minutes and my entree salad finally arrives...with dressing...and a lot of it. 5 minutes later the correct plate gets to me, salmon is very overcooked but not sending it back. Its also salty but again ill eat it. The server Bri was serviceable and accommodating. Id say the only excellent thing here is the bread and butter The ambiance is like every tr you've been to in the past, bonus is there is zero fruit infestation at the bar, these folks are keeping it clean.

What's is the odds that we both became very sick with in minutes of each other with no prior symptoms. And, it's the only place we ate at yesterday. We always share the porterhouse steak and add an extra salad and potato; have for years. Not because we are cheap, it's because we both like the porterhouse and otherwise it would be too much food for the two of us. The steak came out and it was undercooked, and they only brought 2/3 of the order. We shared the steak, mushrooms and bread, and became awfully sick an hour later. Are the internet stories true about food tampering when the kitchen is pissed at you? Was is more widespread like hygiene or food quality? Who knows, but we won't be eating here any longer. I stoped at the restroom before our 45 minute drive home and by the looks of that restroom it could have easily been a hygiene issue. I wonder how many people got sick last night after eating here or what the statistics are over a year time period. Regardless, this is our unfortunate experience after spending hard earned money at this filthy place.

We stopped in on Thursday around 5:30 p.m. hoping to grab some salted caramel cookies, but they were sold out. So my husband ordered three Heath cookies and three white chocolate macadamia nut cookies instead. When the employee handed us our order, there was only one white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. My husband politely let her know that he had ordered three. Instead of simply saying, "Oops, let me fix that," she immediately argued that he had only asked for one. When he asked for the other two cookies, she gave us an obvious attitude. I honestly don't understand why. It's not like we were asking for free cookies--we paid for the other two. Maybe she was annoyed that she had to ring them up separately, but regardless, that isn't how customers should be treated. We stayed polite the entire time. We didn't raise our voices or give her any attitude back. It was disappointing to be treated that way over such a simple mistake. Experiences like this leave a bad impression, and my husband said that was the last time he'll shop at this location. The really disappointing part is that they make some damn good cookies. It's a shame that great products are being overshadowed by poor customer service.

I sent it back and it came out again still medium rare with a cold, blood red center. I sent it back a third time and got it back well done. The staff, actually a different waitress and the manager, were very kind and understanding. My waiter had disappeared but that's okay because I had grown tired of explaining which wine I had ordered and after the 1st recook, noticed him in a different room while I had waited 8 minutes on that recook that should have taken 4. I will say that the 2nd waitress was kind enough to bring my potato back to me on the 2nd and a fresh baked potato on the 3rd. My experience with running a steakhouse myself is that a medium filet should be a thicker cut. This was quite thin and should have cooked through faster. After the 3rd recook and the well done steak came out, I took a bite and found it dry and chewy. I couldn't eat it and asked for a check. The very nice manager came out and asked if she could adjust the ticket for me and did so. $12 off a $37 steak that I ate 4 bites of. Oh well. The salad was good.

My husband challenged me to find somewhere new, and Yelp led us to Fat Boyzzz in Longview, TX. I'll be honest--I'm not usually a soul food fan, so I wasn't especially excited about trying it. But my husband had been craving some good soul food for a while, so we decided to give it a shot. The restaurant had excellent ratings and reviews, but I was still a little skeptical. When we arrived, the place was packed, which is usually a good sign. Thankfully, we were seated right away. Our waitress let us know upfront that there would be about a 30-minute wait for the food. Our first interaction with her was a little rough--she seemed stressed and was somewhat abrupt while taking our order. My husband was initially put off, but he was determined to get his soul food fix. Now, whenever I see grilled liver and onions with brown gravy on a menu, that's what I'm ordering. I'm a Luby's girl through and through, and until today, I would've said nobody does liver and onions better than Luby's. Fat Boyzzz changed my mind. The liver was sliced a little thinner and wasn't quite as tender, but the flavor more than made up for it. Every bite was absolutely delicious. And that's not even the best part. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy were phenomenal--rich, flavorful, and pure comfort food. My husband ordered the fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and cream gravy. The entire meal, all he could talk about was those mashed potatoes. Between bites, he'd keep saying, "These mashed potatoes are AWESOME! This gravy tastes just like my Naw-Naw's gravy!" My husband is a big, burly guy with a deep voice, and hearing him repeatedly praise the food while happily devouring his plate was entertaining all by itself. This was truly food for the soul. We left full, happy, and completely comforted by a fantastic meal. Fat Boyzzz has definitely earned repeat customers in us, and we'll absolutely be back. Highly recommended!

The chicken fried steak is fantastic, hot and fresh and cooked just right, and the smothered pork chops are so good and ready to go right away. The sides are all homestyle too, with fresh greens, mac and cheese, and candied yams that taste like somebody's grandma made them. Excellent choice overall and you'll leave satisfied!
