    Filet kebab and hummus

Wines were quite tasty. I like that I can walk from the Aloft hotel. Hummus was pretty good but not worth the price. Pita was more flavorful than the hummus. The filet kabob was good. They did not ask how I wanted it cooked but it came out med rare. Coucous was ok. Not much flavor. I would try again.

    Grilled Octopus

Cute spot located in Rosemont. Indoor and outdoor seating so with the weather warming up this is perfect to enjoy. Inside is very chic and aesthetic. The food menu caters Mediterranean style dishes. We tried the octopus that came on chips and was dripped with spicy mayo. I would recommend this . The oysters were good but in my opinion should have added little onion in the red sauce . Sushi roll was surprisingly delicious considering it's not a sushi restaurant. Overall the food here is fresh and tasty . My only complaint was the Cesar salad dressing was kind of watered down. The service however was really good. She was very attentive and personable. I would be back . This is perfect for date night before movies or comedy show next door .

Definately a cute dinner spot to come with your friends or partner. Outdoor seating is available. We had the Mykonos filet kabob, Spanish octopus, and the beet salad which were all delicious . For desert we tried the olive cake, also very good. The octopus and filet were perfectly tender and the salad was a nice complement of fresh flavors. I will say the octopus was surprisingly spicy so if you can't do heat you might want to reconsider or adjust spice level. Service was great and attentive. Recommend having a clean slate cocktail.

    WHIPPED FETA

We were in the neighborhood for my birthday and decided to go to this restaurant. Good decision on my wife's end because everything was delicious. My favorite thing on the menu by far was this whipped feta like appetizer that was just to die for. I would come back just to eat that. With these little baby peppers on the side. Great touch. Even the drinks were great! We came when it was happy hour so it was kind of empty unfortunately but hope this place is doing good because they deserve it. Thank you to our waiter for taking good care of us as well! I'll be back soon Saltwater Coastal Grill! Personal Review: 7.9/10

We were stuck in Chicago because of a snow storm and found this place thanks to Google. It was fantastic. The food was delicious, inventive and fresh. Great coastal vibe and the service was outstanding. We'd go back for sure.

Strawberry Salad. VERY tasty with lots of pomegranate seeds, too!

The food wasn't bad, the service was a little indifferent, but you have to navigate the absolutely horrible Rosemont Parking Deck to get there. On the plus side, the salads were terrific and I would go back for a lunch or brunch salad. We had chicken kabob which was well prepared and a nice sized portion, with Brussels sprouts and potatoes. One pro tip is that the front door is not where you think it is. :(

What a lucky find! I was staying at a nearby hotel and found this gem...and was in time for happy hour....and I'm a sucker for a good happy hour. This is a really nice place. Very classy, but not stuffy atmosphere. I ordered off the happy hour menu. You need to sit at the bar to order from the happy hour menu, but you won't mind because it's a nice bar. I had the HH Calamari$8, the HH Seafood Salad, $9, and the HH Filet Tips, $12. All were perfect!! Super high quality. I forgot the bartender's name, but he was awesome. Bookmark this place if you want somewhere nice for dinner and the perfect atmosphere to go with it!

    Kiss On Fire Maki

I returned to this restaurant a few times after my original review when they first opened. That review wasn't very favorable. After giving it a few more chances, I realized I was wrong -- so I took it down and I fully retract those statements. Today, I can confidently say this is one of the better restaurants in the Rosemont entertainment area. It's a great spot for date night or a night out with friends. Last night, my wife and I stopped in after a movie and were pleasantly surprised. Even without a reservation, we were greeted quickly by the hostesses and seated without issue. Our waitress delivered amazing service from start to finish. The drinks were excellent -- I had a Dirty Martini with blue cheese olives and Grey Goose vodka. Knocked it out of the park. We ordered the Kiss on Fire Maki Roll with seared salmon, tuna, and yellowtail -- fresh and delicious. The Spanish Octopus with corn purée, cherry peppers, sausage, and chimichurri was a standout -- a pleasant surprise and perfectly prepared. On a whim, I asked our waitress what appetizer she would recommend for us to share. She confidently suggested the Salmon Tartare. I was feeling adventurous and trusted her instinct -- and I'm glad I did. It ended up being my favorite dish of the night. The funny part? Afterward, she admitted she had never actually tried it herself -- she had just heard great feedback from other guests. After seeing how much I enjoyed it, she said she might finally give it a shot. I liked that. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I left happy -- and that's what I'm looking for when I go out. Good service. Good food. Served with a smile. Highly recommend.

    Whipped feta with honey
    Anna G.

Great space, delicious food and friendly service. The standout for me was the whipped feta and honey dish, which was amazing. The grilled bread and the creamy spread were so good! The baba ganoush was also very well seasoned with just the right amount of heat. The Baja roll was huge and very fresh. And the drinks we ordered were interesting and delicious. My only suggestion is maybe hire one or two more servers for busy nights, ours seemed very stretched thin and we had to flag him down several times to move things along.

Saltwater Old Fashioned and Just Keep Swimming cocktail
    cookie w.

Beautiful restaurant with great food. Everything we ordered were really yummy. The Just Keep Swimming cocktail was a really cute and fun drink. Lobster slider is a must order, the bread was super soft. Salmon tartare is a good starter. Clam chowder was just okay. The Dragon Roll has good texture and lots of flavor. Grilled salmon was well done with really good sauce. The Caramel Mousse cake was the perfect ending.

A delightful experience, This place is excellent for lunches and dinner. Even better for cocktails and tapas. The ambience is relaxing and the service was great. Enjoy the delicious food options this restaurant has to offer when you are in the area. Cheer!

Came here on a Saturday evening right after happy hour. The place looked nice inside, somewhat dark despite the daylight outside because of what I assume are heavily tinted windows. We sat at the end of the bar where the servers congregate to put in their orders and chit chat. However, since our server was the bartender, service was slow despite the constant action in front of us. I had came here looking for some fish and chips based on a photo of the menu from last year. My fault not to confirm on the website that the menu had changed because it has changed. What used to be entree sized portions and prices for their seafood dishes are now smaller plates. No fish and chips either. I ordered the salmon and it was the cut of about half a filet. It was seasoned well in the Mediterranean style. Might as well been eating a fattier branzino. My friend had a lobster bisque which he didn't find exceptional. He had been hoping for a non-seafood entree from the previous menu and wasn't keen on ordering kebabs from the current one.

    Potatoes

This is such a cute tapa style place in rosemont entertainment district. My husband and friends and I got so many dishes. I had such high expectations for some of the seafood but some of them let us down. Our go to: The calamari was DELICIOUS. We got two orders of it. The potatoes were so perfectly crusted and soft on the inside. The baked oysters were so good! Skip: The octopus was something we all looked forward to it tasted just way too slimy! My husband liked the seafood empanada but I didn't think there was much flavor to it. The brussel sprouts were too sweet and at one point tasted too burnt. Wish there was more actual chunks of the sprouts and not just the outer leaves. Drinks wise I'm glad there was a mocktail for me to enjoy with my friends as they had beer and cocktails. Our server was super sweet and very attentive.

Upon my first visit on a Thursday for lunch, the waitress Nur provided excellent service to our table. She was patient, pleasant, and provided answers to our many questions. Just loved her service with a smile and uplifting energy. My friends and I ate hard and everyone enjoyed their food. I tried the lentil soup which was wonderful and I had the mushroom guvec with rice on the side that was delicious. We were served tea as an after dinner refresher which was nice. We noticed the bakery on the way out and they had so many treats ready to be ordered and taken home. The second visit was terrible. I came for lunch on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy. The lahmacon is offered as a lunch special and I asked if I could have the cheesemacon for the special. It's the same version with just cheese and no meat. My waiter Jamal straight told me no. I found that very odd so I inquired further because they are the same price on the menu and it's without meat. The answer still didn't change. I simply had a few more questions about other menu items and Jamal seemed agitated by then. He was not even trying to be nice. I ordered two entrees. I paid full price for the cheesemacon and had a pide with kashkaval cheese. Jamal brought my food and NEVER came back to my table. I watched him provide service to all the other tables during that time. I was fine and didn't need anything, but I didn't deserve to be treated that way for being pleasantly inquisitive. I really felt bothered by this because out of all my years of eating out, I never felt that a server treat me poorly personally for being myself. I've had bad service before just because the service is bad overall and that is different. I like the food so I reluctantly returned for a third time and had breakfast. Service was standard and the food was good. My mushroom omelette was fine. The traditional french toast was solid. This review should be one star but it is four without Jamal.

Had the burratta & fig, porkbelly brushetta, and a flatbread as apps. Loved it all. porkbelly was so tender, the burratta & fig was a good balance of sweet and savory. Needless to say, the flatbread was a hit with the kids as well. Other notable dishes were the beef shwarma and the crispy duck. Ambiance- LOVE it! It can be fancy if you want, it can be more casual if you want. Enjoyed the church vibes mixed with modern touch. Very well decorated. The outdoor area is so cute, esp overlooking the lake. We sat indoors but still a wonderful ambiance. Bonus: they have a changing table in the women's bathroom. Sorry, could not confirm in the men's. Service- this was definitely impressive. You don't always get service especially at some of these well known restaurants bc why would you have to have good service? We had made reservations online and it was initially indoor. They were so awesome about switching it to outdoor with out much trouble even if we were 10 minutes late. But the air quality was so bad so once we were about to get settled we requested for indoor again. There was only smiles and a happy to help attitude and got us settled. I want to highlight our waitress, Ciara (Sierra?). With a party of 9, she was so thoughtful of our orders esp for the kids. I mean, when we ordered lemonade for them she even asked if she wants us to water it down and as parents we were like YES! They do not need that much sugar LOL! She was just overall so warm and communicative. She checked in and made sure we were comfortable. Her smile and pleasant attitude made it easier when we had three little ones wanting to walk around after eating and trying to keep them entertained at a table.

We intentionally made this our "no budget" celebration, expecting exceptional food, service, and hospitality. Instead, it turned into one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've ever had. Our reservation was for 7:00 p.m. on July 2, and despite having a reservation, we waited more than 20 minutes to be seated. During that time, we watched people walk in, greet someone they appeared to know, and be seated immediately at the bar while we continued to wait. My husband had gone out of his way to ensure our anniversary would be acknowledged. He noted on the reservation that it was our five-year anniversary, called ahead before our dinner to confirm the restaurant was aware, and even checked with the host stand when we arrived. We weren't asking for anything extravagant--just the kind of small acknowledgment that many restaurants happily provide for guests celebrating a milestone. Nothing happened. There was no congratulations, no acknowledgment from our server, no candle with dessert, no handwritten note, nothing. We even ordered dessert ourselves, and it arrived exactly as if it were any ordinary Tuesday night. The service only added to the disappointment. Our server was curt, rarely checked on us despite our ordering two appetizers, two entrées, dessert, and several rounds of drinks, and never made us feel welcomed or cared for. For a restaurant positioning itself as a destination for special occasions, the level of hospitality simply wasn't there. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. Considering the price point, we expected much more. Most dishes were surprisingly bland and underseasoned, and nothing we ordered stood out as memorable. At the end of the evening, my husband politely mentioned everything to the host stand. The response was essentially that our anniversary "must have gotten lost in communication," followed by an offer of a dessert to take home. By that point, the moment had already passed. A boxed dessert cannot replace a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that was overlooked from start to finish. No manager came over to speak with us, no one took ownership of the experience, and there was no meaningful attempt to make things right. This wasn't just dinner--it was our fifth wedding anniversary, a milestone we'll never get to celebrate again. We chose Foxtail because we trusted it would deliver an exceptional experience worthy of the occasion. Instead, we left feeling ignored, disappointed, and wondering why we spent so much money on an evening that felt like an afterthought. If you're looking for a restaurant to celebrate an anniversary, proposal, birthday, or other meaningful milestone, I cannot recommend Foxtail on the Lake based on our experience. There are too many restaurants that understand hospitality and know how to make guests feel special. Sadly, this wasn't one of them.
