I was so excited to try SC's pizza for the first time, but unfortunately we will not be back. The pizza was disappointing, and the customer service was even worse. I spent about $50 on two medium 14" pizzas, including paying extra for additional cheese on both pies. What we received barely looked like a normal amount of cheese, let alone extra. One pizza had sauce missing from half of it, and the other was folded over with toppings stuck to the opposite side. I questioned the pizzas because they clearly did not look right. The employee said, "I'll ask the cook." After returning, they simply said, "He said he put extra cheese on it." At that point, all anyone needed to do was look at the pizzas, acknowledge the issue, apologize, and offer some type of refund. Instead, the situation was handled poorly. We also spent $24 on two quarts of ice cream, bringing our total close to $75. For those prices, I expected much better quality and customer service. We definitely will not return for the pizza. Possibly for the ice cream, but after this experience, this place has some work to do to justify those prices. read more

My husband and I are on the road alot for soccer games and tournaments, so while out in West Chester on a scorching hot day, we definitely need something to cool us down and fill our tummies! We found the Salty Cow about a mile away from Thornbury soccer park and it is quite a hidden gem! Featuring both food and dessert alike, its a quaint little restaurant. We ordered a Mediterranean salad to split between us and it absolutely hit the spot! The staff is fairly young and friendly and the food came out in a good amount of time! Great spot for the whole family. It is located directly in front of Goose Creek park. The park has a cute little playground, big field, and small creek. The food and ice cream at the salty cow are fantastic! They hand bread their own white meat chicken breast for the tenders. The fries are fresh and crispy. The ranch is also homemade and goes great with the chicken. My husband usually gets cheesesteaks which are consistently good. They have a nice variety of ice cream flavors and toppings. Milkshakes are nice and thick. They also make take home pints to order. It has a very causal vibe with a nice amount of indoor and outdoor seating. There is a cute little koi pond off the patio that keeps my kids entertained for hours. Staff is always friendly and helpful! Friends asked us to meet at Salty Cow for dinner tonight and ALL of my complaints from my former review were resolved! Loads of flavor in the burgers! My Pub Burger was delicious! Perfect ratios of onions to bacon to cheese to meat to bread, just dayum good, and I'd eat another right now thinking of it! $12.50 for JUST a burger is steep, though, but small fries were under $4, I think, so together that's comparable to most pub menus. Truffle Fries were good too. They're not the best I've had but they're tasty and hit the craving. Salty Cow burger, again, had proportionate ingredients, and flavors to match. Chicken tenders were quality cuts of breast meat, with crunchy crumb crusts. Tasted great! I neglected to photograph my ice cream this time, but the 1 scoop size is a LOT, and I couldn't finish mine. This will be more than enough for one person! This time staff were all adults (20s and up), all very professional, and aware of standards for service in the restaurant industry. It was such an improvement over last time!!! Restaurant was clean and ambiance was nice. This is a hidden gem. It's outside of downtown, but worth the trip. The Smash burgers with the awesome sauce are one of the best in West Chester. I had them before and they were ok, but they have perfected them since. Pizza is also delicious, but could be a little more crispier. Kids loved the ice cream too. This is our go to place on Friday nights and it never disappoints. Most recently, we got the gobbler burger, which was one of the best turkey burgers I've ever had. Definitely fresh and not frozen. Plus the toppings were bomb. My fiancé usually gets the traditional red pizza, and says it's one of the best pizzas around. We also got the honey sriracha boneless wings. Mediocre. Staffs fine I guess, I mean its retail so they go through a lot of shit so I dont blame them for anything, but the overall vibe and food here is just: middling. Theres a lot of dead space in the resteraunt, leaving everything to look like an old husk of a building that was taken over by a parasitic resteraunt. The food heres fine. Its not raw or anything, certaintly edible, but its not the best. The only reason to come here is if youre at the park nearby. Otherwise just go in town for a burger. I called to order a cheese steak for pickup. On the phone when I told the girl I am mobility handlcapped suddenly she could not understand me. Gave up in frustration, said I would be there in 20 minutes. When I drove up to The Salty Cow I called the store. It is a small restaurant and perhaps 30 feet to my car. I was informed no curbside pickup any more. I said I can't walk. She said you will have to come into to get your order. We went back and forth. I canceled my order. Never again will I eat or order from The Salty Cow. If a restaurant that had only two cars parked in their lot can't accommodate a mobility challenged person they do not need business. read more

Ordered the chicken sandwich and a traditional white pizza to go. The chicken tasted like something you'd get from the big bag of frozen patties at your local big box store. It was tough and I could bite all the way through it, as there was gristle or something in the middle. The pizza was basically just cheese on dough with no flavor at all...no garlic or any seasonings. Ambiance of the restaurant seemed fun and they have an outside space. The order arrived, the waitress put a salad and steak sandwich on the table and said "Do you guys need forks?". Yea, spoons and knives and napkins too! She arrived with one prewrapped package. Never asked if I needed utensils, a napkin, ketchup, pepper, or other condiments. Never came back to the table to see how the food was. Never got water. My wifes salad was good, however, the worst oversalted steak sandwich, with the wrong cheese, served cold. I was hungry and got it down....without ketchup. yesterday I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad when I went in there was hardly anybody there and he didn't even smell like a pizzeria you couldn't smell food cooking. It was a 14 inch pizza for 1495 an extra three bucks for pepperoni, which is outrageous. The pizza was not even that good not to mention that the following day I had diarrhea. My daughter has gotten diarrhea every time she has gotten anything from this restaurant. We will not go back again. read more

Went to the Salty Cow for the first time last night - It was a great experience. The patio and inside seating were open, music playing and they were filling up quickly. Ours was an all ages group and they had something for everyone. The pizza was great, (so was the ranch dressing I hear), Chicken sandwich, french fries and the turkey club were fresh and ready quickly. NO LEFTOVERS We also recommend the milkshakes - I think the ice cream is made daily here. Its also dog friendly, so next time our pets can come and hang out on the patio with us.
