Seared ahi tuna was awesome! I tried the green chile pasta with chicken and hubby had a burger and fries covered in queso. We had the chocolate torte for dessert! It was so big, we shared! Hubby tasted several of the beers but ended up with a Stella! The server was attentive and the food was served pretty quick. Prices are reasonable and they had a band on the patio. read more

It all started when Jerrick (awesome waiter) answered my phone call... I asked if they had cheese platters and wine... This place is hands down, the best place I've been to in Cruces as far as for cheese platters and WINE! I love everything about this place, from the ambiance, service, and food. Came for the tapas specials but only the wontons were options so I got both. I did like them but I don't think I would have paid full price for them had they not been on sale. The complentry rainbow bread looked appealing but had no flavor and was served with one basic packaged butter container. The paleo lunch was a good size and the steak was cooked perfectly and had good seasoning. I also had the white sangria which was a good but was hoping to see more local wine on the menu. I would visit again to try more on the menu but nothing was amazing. I have also heard there is a lack of consistency with service which makes me wonder how my next visit will be. read more

I'm writing this review as I wait for my margaritas. They have extremely slow service, it's something I remember from the last time I ate here. I have now been waiting 16 minutes for two margaritas, and it's not like it's packed... we're in a middle of a pandemic, there's only 2 other tables at the restaurant. Burgers are overpriced too. Calamari was undercooked, chewy, and poorly seasoned. Brie burger was pretty tasteless. Prime rib was . . . OK . . . though it might had been better had it actually been warm. By the time the waiter came back around so that I could ask for horseradish, and by the time he brought it to me, my meal was cold. It's okay, they're shooting for fine dining but falling short. More casual dining experience which makes the prices higher than they should be for what you're getting. The decor inside is overdone. The pre meal bread was multicolored which was more kitsch than anything else. It didn't taste different so it was just food coloring and it was a little dry. I had a blue cheese burger that tasted like blue cheese only no subtlety in flavor. Didn't taste bad but can't really comment on the skill in the kitchen if the only flavor that comes through is the thing they don't make there. read more

First I want to say that our server andres was awesome great server! However I am shocked at all the positive reviews on the food, I thought it was absolutely disgusting. I had the Chilaquiles it was basically a bowl of chips with nothing on them and I asked for over medium eggs and the eggs were completely hard. Food was so bland I thought I had covid for a second because I couldn't taste anything. I also ordered the proud Mary and it was not good it tasted like chunky marinara sauce. We've been fairly regular patrons of Salud since they opened but had not been in for a few months. This week we had our most disappointing experiences there and we don't think we will be back. We even had reservations for Thanksgiving, which we will now cancel. I ordered the artichoke chicken and the entire meal, from chicken, to the chicken toppings, to the steamed vegetables, to the potato's were salty I could not eat it. It was the grossest meal I've had in a long time. It was simply not eatable. read more

I made a reservation for 6:30 and arrived early. No one around to greet or seat us. The bartender made her way over and sat us at a high table in the bar. Seems weird that with a reservation, I'm seated at a table in the bar. Anyway, as we sat I noticed a server delivering drinks to the table next to us. The guy said he ordered an old fashioned and the server was holding a beer. How do you confuse an old fashioned cocktail with a beer? Anyway, we continued to wait, and no one, NO ONE approached our table. At all. No one said, "I'll be right with you" no one said "here's some water, we'll be over in a minute"....nothing. For 20 minutes. I noticed another couple getting seated in the bar, the bartender made a big deal of greeting them, came out from the bar and hugged both of them. Then the server went straight to their table. Wow. I get that people enjoy having locals come in, but, my money spends too. And at that point we decided to spend our money where it was appreciated. We walked into Sakura and received prompt, awesome service and amazing food. Salud de Mesilla is a joke and I cannot believe they are in business with the way they treat their customers. This place is amazing!! They have such a good ambiance and they had someone playing live music outside. I didn't catch our waitresses name but she was so sweet and she made sure that we were well taken care of. The manager came by to check up on us as well :). My sister and I ordered the pretzel, chicken tacos, and umami burger. I also got the red beer (michelada) and my sister got the build your own Bloody Mary. The tacos needed a bit of sauce but that can easily be fixed, the fries and pretzel were amazing. My sister loved her Bloody Mary as well. We'll for sure be coming back here! read more

Servers are great. Otherwise I would give one star. Food, meh. I have to eat gluten-free, and I really want to like this place. I waited to post a review here. Since moving here last year, I have now eaten here six or seven times, and I've only had one meal that I was truly satisfied with. Tonight, I went again and order the same thing that I had last time, which I loved the last time - the first meal I have ever really enjoyed there, and it was nothing like what I had the last time. The quality isn't consistent. When they try to do something gluten-free, it just doesn't taste great. They make it taste like they're giving you second rate food and compromising what you get from what everyone else gets. It disappoints me that they don't go above and beyond to make a really good gluten-free meal. Example: the gluten-free hamburger buns are absolutely horrible. The street tacos taste stale -- come on people! This is New Mexico! Learn how to warm corn tortillas so you don't have to chew them 1000 times and then drink a glass of water so you can swallow. No excuse. I love eating outdoors, but the patio here needs updating. No atmosphere. (Take a lesson from Lescombes.) Bottom line: get your act together for your gluten-free guests. Unless you can offer consistently good gluten-free meals that taste great and taste like you CARE, then do not offer gluten-free at all. read more

We went to Salud! de Mesilla for the Experience Mesilla Music Fest 2021 and this place is great. TBH I chose Salud! because I wanted to hear Desirae Price not really knowing anything about it and she was awesome. But the food and atmosphere was every bit as good. They have a wonderful Mexican/Southwest menu with a full wine list, spirits and cocktails, and a rotating craft beer selection with both indoor and outdoor seating. We started with the Calamari... delicious. Then ordered some brunch selections. I had the Chilaquiles which were the perfect Saturday morning comfort food. My wife loved the Brunch Enchiladas too. For dessert we had Mexican Tiramisu for the first time. It tasted like if Tiramisu and Horchata had a baby and it was promptly added to my favorite desserts of all time list. The service was friendly and helpful and I definitely want to go back to try something from the dinner menu. Nothing less than 5 stars for sure! read more

Visited this restaurant for an office get together that needed to be in the Las Cruces area. Picked out several tapas dishes that had nice presentations, were shareable and tasted good. We selected the brie wrapped in wonton skins, drizzled with honey and walnuts and cranberries. Pretty tasty. A cauliflower dish with maybe an African/middle eastern spice? Tasty as well. A kale dish had mixed reviews from the table....some thought the deep fried kale was borderline burnt, others thought it was just the bitterness of the kale coming through. Chicharrone nachos, papas bravas were average. Shishito peppers were spot on...delicious. Late arrivals had good selections as well. Pork trio was very good. Basil penne pesto had them smiling as well. Fried ravioli was average as was the Monte Cristo. Arranchera tacos got a thumbs up. Even with a pretty green waiter, it was a good experience overall and we'll be back again. read more

Stopped in Las Cruces on our way across the country, read the great reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. The service is wonderful and friendly. The tapas were somewhat disappointing - calamari included maybe 10 pieces total, and the cauliflower and heart salad were drenched in sauce. Green Chile Mac n cheese was ok. Flavors were good but implementation for these dishes was off. However, the dinner entrees: smoked salmon and lemon-herb chicken were divine! Each were perfectly cooked with crispy exterior and moist and tender middle, and paired nicely with broccolini and roasted potatoes. Fortunately sauce came on the side so you have the option of dipping potatoes or meat in it. Great list of local beers on tap as well! read more

Finding vegan options in Las Cruces can be challenging, as most of the places that have them do not label there menus very well. At Salud, there are many vegan options, and the knowledgeable staff can explain them to you. There are even a few items that are made vegan without modifications. I had the mushroom tacos, which were great, but the real standout was the vegan chocolate cake. I'm still dreaming about that cake! The prickly pear margarita is also incredible. read more

I went last night for dinner, I ordered the filet mignon cooked medium rare. I was brought out some other cut of meat cut in a circle to look like a filet. I attempted to cut it but it was so full of tendons I struggled. When I finally was able to cut a piece it appeared to be cooked correctly but when I tried to chew it it was like a piece of bubble gum. I had to spit it out because it was so tough. Ordered the vegan bowl and tacos and has several issues with both dishes. The roasted potatoes were Ice cold inside. There was a pile of unseasoned and slightly steamed broccolini on top. Hard to even cut through, yet alone chew. Asked for something to season the veg with and was charged for it. They bowl itself came liber. With wilted and burned lettuce. I don't like being lied to when my guess and I wanted to have our meal in the front patio. We're told there was a private party, just because we spoke Spanish and this was supposed to be an Argentina Mexican Resturant. Staff not accommodating to our desire to eat out when the place was empty and we were a party of four. The place looked very nice and would have enjoyed being there. I had eaten there before twice the second time we were placed with noisy air fans in the back. The staff did not pick up glasses and the wind knotted over and broke glasses unnecessarily. Love the set-up of this restaurant! It's a multiroom, welcoming backdrop that feels like you've walked into someone's home. One of the front rooms has leather couches and chairs and patrons are invited to sit and eat by the fire. Salud de Mesilla is located in the quieter part of the town. This small and intimate restaurant is great for a family of four or less. They serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. It's more of a high end Mexican restaurant. The food was worth the wait as it was freshly cooked. read more

The food was delicious as always, we had the salmon, stuffed eggplant, Chicken enchiladas, sangria, lemonades, arrachera, fries with cheese, mini burgers I really recommend this place to everyone, specially on the weekends when they have live music. I so badly wanted this to be really good. We liked the location, the atmosphere, the people. The service was fine, not spectacular but perfectly acceptable, fine. Our issue was with the food, oh, and the drink. We ordered the frozen Sangria. Undrinkable. So...overly...sweeeeet and sugary. Sent it back and stuck with water. The food was hit or miss. The pretzel was great, warm and big, served with grainy mustard and a chile cheese sauce, which was warm/hot. Very good. The fried artichoke hearts was a definite miss. Lots of bits of leaves, almost no actual hearts, very oily, and the biggest offense, served with a stone cold cheese sauce. Next we tried the mini green chile mac and cheese. Also a miss. Also not really hot, and the cheese sauce was too thin and bland. Actually the pasta was slightly overcooked as well. My husband got the vegan tamales which I did not try, but he said were ok, fine. I got the enchiladas which were simultaneously really good and interesting and disappointing. The disappointing part is that they were stone cold in the middle, so obviously someone forgot to leave it in the microwave long enough before they put some cheese on top and set it under a salamander. That said, it was different than any enchilada I've ever had, more like a Mexican lasagna. It was FLUFFY and LAYERED and delicious. I took a couple of bites, realized the problem, and packed it up to go home. When I ate it at home properly heated up, it was kind of amazing. So, overall, our experience was mixed. On the one hand, they had some very good vegan and vegetarian options. On the other hand the kitchen and bar's execution is not consistent. This is unfortunate because we liked the place. Likely if we go back we will probably get the pretzel and drink beer/wine and then get the enchiladas to go, and heat up at home. To be fair, we did not inform our server of anything other than sending back the sangria, and she did try to offer us an alternative, which we declined. They did not charge us for it. We did not inform her of the other problems mostly because we did not have a lot of time. I think the atmosphere is nice, the menu is interesting but the execution is lacking. Sorry kitchen. We were there on Saturday afternoon 3/25 in case it matters. read more
