After visiting our beautifully decorated local Mexican restaurant hundreds of times, I figured it was finally time to share the love! My go-to entrée is the enchiladas--simple, delicious, and the ultimate comfort meal. This weekend, I tried the Steak Chimichurri for the first time and... HOLY GUACAMOLE! This dish is incredible. The chimichurri sauce is so good I want to put it on everything. The steak was perfectly tender, and the shrimp was just as flavorful and cooked to perfection. One of my husband's favorites is the Pollo Con Chorizo, and I can absolutely see why. It's packed with amazing flavors and textures that work so well together. For drinks, I absolutely love the Snake Bite cocktail (when available--it requires egg whites, and they occasionally run out). Their house Fresca with a Tajín rim is my usual choice: refreshing, flavorful, and always hits the spot. We're so lucky to have such an amazing restaurant in our neighborhood. The food was good, the chips and salsa didn't have a ton of flavor and chips tasted stale. The Paloma was delicious and helped make up for the salsa. My flautas were good, the chicken was just a bit dry but very flavorful with all the pickled onions. Not much to the meal so not super filling for the price. I believe you are paying for the location a good bit in the cost of your meal. So if looking for large portions I would not recommend unless you order several individual portions to make a meal. This is a cute trendy little neighborhood Mexican Restaurant. Small but trendy with indoor and outdoor are for seating . Upon arrival, I seated quickly with amazingly fast serves. My waitress Virie very was friendly, attentive and always had a smile. The food was delicious with generous portion size. You will not go away hungry. The salsa was had the best flavor, by far the best I have had in a while. The restaurant was busy but the staff never faltered and provided great service. Service is fast and follows up in just the right amounts. Came by in a Thursday night just missed happy hour but still found some satisfying prices and dishes! I tried the guava margarita with tajin rim, refreshing and the glassware they have is festive! The presentation of their dishes is done well - my friends got the tacos and burritos and liked the garnishes and drizzles of sauces. I got the elote and taco salad and enjoyed the flavors! We called an order in because well toddlers, but I was super impressed with the decor both inside and out as I walked up to Salud. The side patio is seriously out of a magazine gorgeous! Our order was ready just in the amount of time they said it would be and they were friendly and attentive as soon as we walked in the door. We ordered the birria quesadilla which was SO. GOOD. (I had to refrain from wanting to drink the au ju that came with it lol) My husband got the steak street tacos and he said it was great. Especially loved that they serve your food with radishes, limes, and pickled onions to add extra flavor if you so desire. We will be back for sure! read more

IM SO HAPPY THIS PLACE IS HERE!! I think I have been 5-6 times since they opened and everytime the food is excellent. The building is beautiful inside and out. They offer outdoor seating in addition to their inside dining. I am someone with many allergies and I am so thankful that they are patient to take down all of my food changes and prepare the food just as I need it. We were so hoping this place would be our next go-to Mexican place but, after multiple times "re-trying" it, I think we have given up. The atmosphere & service is a 10/10 but the sub-par food is way over-priced for what you get. It's tough to pay $15+ for just two tacos (no rice/beans), the overloaded-with-rice burritos gives the feeling they are trying to cut food costs and the house salsa never tases fresh and is just a step away from basic ketchup. We hope they make some changes because the location is great and it's one of the few walkable restaurants in Tanner. read more

We eat a LOT of Mexican food in the Tricounty area, and this is by far the best Mexican restaurant around. There are other really good options for sure, but this takes the cake. The food is very fresh and flavorful, service is quick and friendly, and the presentation is great. I got the Salud Burrito with pastor, my wife got the Special Rice with shrimp, and our little girl got the kids enchilada with rice and beans. 10/10 would recommend. Best food in Hanahan! My husband and I love going to Salud. The restaurant is beautiful. I love the colorful paintings all over the walls. The vibes are always fun and the restaurant is very lively. I have not met a single bad staff member. They are all very sweet and remember us like we're family. Salud has lots of food options. I've tried a couple of different things and have loved them all. Their presentation of the food is top notch and makes you feel like you're dining somewhere fancy even though it's just your local Mexican restaurant! 10/10 recommend! read more

Mediocre Mexican restaurant. I'm from CA so I wouldn't consider this place authentic. The service was excellent though. Steak fajita portion was small, rice is good (flavorful and soft), Birria tacos were okay only (consume was very salty), loaded fries were fire. The sodas are nasty and tastes like it needs to be filtered better. It has a horrible nasty aftertaste. Our server was nice and food came out quick!
