Really enjoyed this spot. The chilaquiles were packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and tasted fresh and authentic. The atmosphere reminded me a lot of Azul in Park Circle, but with a more traditional and authentic Hispanic vibe that made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming. My brother and my parents have never eaten here and they were so impressed how spacious the restaurant was. When we got our food, we were all surprised at how much food were on the plates. The menu had so much food to choose from. I ended up getting the carne asada ; and it would have fed 2 people. The chips and salsa were good The atmosphere was very nice and very welcoming. I posted a 5 star review for Los Altos 6 years ago. This has been one of our "spots" since then. The menu has something for everyone, the chips and salsa are free, the portions are big, and the prices are fair. The service has also always been top notch and very friendly. They are also very kid friendly. Until recently, Goose Creek has had limited good sit down restaurants, but this one has always been here. Well...... I used to love this place. It's not busy. I walked in to place a to go order. The guy at the counter was helping someone else place an order so he acknowledged me and I patiently waited. When it was my turn I knew what I wanted but couldn't remember the name so asked for a menu. He gave it to me and walked away. He is clearly short staffed, because he started serving tables then disappeared in the back. Someone else came to take my order but didn't know how to use the computer system. He then took a phone order before finishing helping me. The original guy came back, entered another order for a customer seated and then again walked away from me. After 15 min I left and ordered Chinese next door. Order placed in 1 minute. This is sad because I was really craving the agave salad and remember it being really good. I will try this place again some day but this was really disappointing to feel so ignored. read more

This place has become horrible. Servers are very rude (especially the one that limps). He's the rudest and mean. Placed a to go order, get home and its not even right. It's not too hard to make a taco salad. We ordered beef and got home and there was NONE even on it. Just a refried bean salad for $20? When you call they either never answer phone, leave it off the hook or like they did me was answer the phone then lay phone down and walk away asked for manager, Moses,. Today (1/16) at 5pm, ONE person eating inside and had phone off hook and STILL didn't get the food right. I used to go there ALL the time. I mean like every single week. Had dinner here with friends since we just bought a house in the neighborhood. Place is located in the same shopping center as Food Lion. Looks small from the outside but it was actually big on the inside. We were greeted and seated right away. There wasn't too many people eating but that's ok. Everyone was very friendly. It took awhile to get our food so we snacked on the chips and salsa as we waited. I ordered the street asada tacos and my boyfriend got the mucho grande burrito. The kids got chicken tenders. The price wasn't bad the flavors was a bit lacking. The portions was decent but they didn't come with any extra sides such as peco de gayo etc. We love Tiki taco so we pretty much compare every new Mexican restaurant with them. The restaurant offers a variety family favorites, Our waiter Jose recommended different dishes and explained how they were prepared. I ordered the T-Bone steak with on a sizzling fajita pan. The presentation of my meal was colorful, neat, appetizing, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. My portions were huge and enough for two adults ( but I really didn't want to share as I'm the greedy one in my marriage.."Ain't nobody got time for that"). The steak was large, seasoned with adobo,cilantro, garlic and black pepper and cooked onions and mushroom, the shrimps were oversized, plump and bursting with flavor. I was given a second platter containing red rice, refried beans, a hearty garden salad and a heaping serving of pico de gallo & sour cream. The Hubs ordered The Burrito Grande which is appropriate considering his height. This ginormous burrito was filled with seasoned beef, sour cream, beans, cheese, and salsa. Our only disappointment was the lack of desert choices. I was looking forward to the tres leche cake, creme brule or a tiramisu. I've been taking a class on the Naval Weapons station this week, and I was looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't fast food. There really isn't much of a selection on this side of town, but Yelp brought me to this restaurant. The place is clean and the service is friendly. I ordered the strawberry mango margarita (I asked if I could mix flavors, it wasn't advertised on the menu) which was very flavorful and surprisingly strong enough to where I could taste the tequila. I also ordered the chicken chimichanga lunch platter. It was perfectly crispy and the flavor was like wow. On the side, there was lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and a tomato to pair with the chimichanga. It also came with beans and rice. I really enjoyed my food and definitely will stop in again if I'm ever back on this side of town. read more

This place is the real deal! The food is delicious authentic Mexican. It's located in Goose Creek in an area with a large Latino population. I like to find authentic ethnic restaurants and this fit the bill. Large portions at great prices. The chips and salsa were fresh and were promptly refilled. The waitstaff were super friendly and the service was great. Eat a late dinner with two friends and we were all impressed. I had chicken with chorizo and guacamole with Mexican style rice. The burrito was not well filled, the chicken had no seasoning or flavor at all, the other contents were bland, and the pico and guac on the side were nothing special. The dish came with no sides - no rice or beans - just the so-so burrito. The chips and salsa were okay, but nothing special there either. Service was fine, but not overly friendly or attentive. When you can't have the things you want, enjoy the things you have. As someone who loves Mexican food it is hard not to go to every place and compare it to the best thing you know. Let me start with the original what makes this place special. Going out to the middle of Goose Creek is something I rarely do. When you get to Los Altos you won't know what to expect. A little neon sign in the darkness made me think this place was smaller than what it really was. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in because the place was twice as big as I thought it would be. The inside was very nice and I wish I would of taken photos of my experience. The inside would be described as business casual at night. If this place were in downtown Charleston I would easily see late 20 year olds coming here for happy hour and dinner. The service was quick and pleasant. The waitress made recommendations when asked, but I was not feeling any of those recommendations and went with the Arroz Mariscos. They brought out chips which tasted fresh enough and salsa that has a good kick. Bland boring salsa is a hallmark of Mexican food places here in the south. They have a very impressive selection of Mexican beers available here, I am not use to seeing more than 5-7 at most places in California. My food came promptly and I only wish I would of remembered to ask for corn tortillas before she brought flour tortillas. The waitress was kind enough to replace the tortillas immediately. I really did enjoy my meal. It is not the best or on par with the best I've ever had but for Mexican food in South Carolina I have to give this place 4 stars. Now if you are a Mexican food connoisseur from out of state you need to know that it is probably 3 stars for you on food alone. If it was not for the location this would be my new go to place for when I am craving Mexican food. I will definitely be back to try and sample staple Mexican food like the carnitas and the carne asada. I would also love to see if they can make a bomb California burrito. If you have never had a California burrito it is a carne asada burrito with French fries in it. I never miss a chance to go to Los Altos when we go to lunch as a shop. I always get the California burrito and it has never disappointed. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always clean. They have never had a problem seating a larger group of about 6-8. I use a LOT of salsa when I eat my chips and they've never had any problem with refills. It also doesn't have that dark atmosphere seen in many Mexican restaurants. Give it a shot; you won't regret it. read more

The food was great. The service was lacking. We got drinks.... then didn't see our waiter. At all. For almost 20 minutes. Once he came back and we ordered, the food came out pretty quick. It was wrong, but there was no way I was waiting another 20 minutes to get it corrected. Haha. While it wasn't exactly what I ordered, it was close enough and delicious. Finally tried this place. The server was nice and food was fresh. My problem is that I ordered a chicken dish which came with two sides, my choices were rice and potatoes. The chicken and sauce was good however there was barely any chicken. The potatoes were the same way, mostly consisting of onions and peppers, not potatoes. Had there been less onions and peppers and more of the food I ordered, I would have rated higher. My boyfriend had the 2 burrito combo with rice and beans, he said it was good but nothing extra special. I did ask when I was leaving if there were able to not include so many onions and peppers the next time and they said yes. I will come and try again and update my review if I am more impressed. Of the 3 of us, the only one that enjoyed his food was the one that claimed he doesn't care for Mexican food. Delivered I was invited by a friend of the owner to their soft opening, which was a first for me. I had no idea what I was going to find. I took my wife and step daughter, and my friend had about 10 with him. WOW! The best Mexican fare I have ever had to date. These folks know how to cook and not over cook. The seafood, chicken, steak and even pork was very tasty and seasoned. Out of the crowd, no one was disappointed. I saw and heard nothing but good things and the words, "I'm coming back." Simple menu full of deliciousness. Margarita on the rocks with a grandma kick was on point. I ordered the chicken tacos with Pico di Gallo. Yum freshness. The beef was very good and the cheese was fine, just thicker and more solid than I thought it would be. The enchilada sauce was really good, so that saved the dish really. I would recommend ordering only beef. It doesn't come with anything else and was 7.95. Chips came nice and warm, but salsa wasn't anything to get excited about.
