The sugar skulls are so beautiful!!! The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly!!! You might be thinking why 4 instead of 5? You couldn't pick two different proteins on the tacos nor the other dishes. We wanted to try 2 different proteins. Like 3 tacos with 2 chicken and 1 el pastor. We were even willing to pay an up charge. We were told we couldn't do that. We just wanted a little more flexibility in the options. Walking into this restaurant, you immediately feel a sense of authenticity with decor such as Día de Muertos decorated skulls as well as other colorful pieces to fill the walls with vibrance. Another thing about their dining room is the music. I'm a big believer that the music can change everything about a restaurant, especially if you're bringing friends with you. The music wasn't too loud but was a great volume to fill the air with good vibes without overpowering conversation at the table. My experience from start to finish was full of hospitality with friendly staff that took care of me very well. The thing that knocks down a star is the pricing, I feel as if there's more affordable options that bring a similar level of quality when it comes to the food. How was the food though? That's the big question! Maybe you don't care about the few bucks, and if that's the case, allow me to share. I ordered the Quesabirria tacos with a side of queso, both of which came out extremely fast. Points for the speed. They were hot all the way through, tacos having perfectly cooked meat with probably the most ideal amount of seasoning I've tasted in my outside endeavors with quesabirria tacos. The corn tortilla wrapped around this luscious taco to add a bit of crunch and bite to complement the delicious smooth flavors coming from inside. We are here for the 4th of July weekend and most restaurants closed at 7 so we happened upon Catrina's and thank goodness we did. From the moment you walk in the door, the decor blows you away. They have many tributes to Day of the Dead, a traditional Mexican Holiday. I ordered a White Wine Sangria and it is delicious! The middle the fresh fruit daily that is added to the sangria. I had the Ramen Birria and it taste PHENOMENAL! So delicious guys!10/10 recommend! It comes with a cheese quesadilla for dipping. My boyfriend had the Texas Fajitas and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. We both had enough to take home. Our server, Lilian was very sweet, friendly,and efficient! We've enjoyed Catrina's as a destination for Mexican food. Best part is they are just 2 miles nearby. Catrina's combines classic recipes with exciting contemporary twists. The interior is wonderfully decorated, and drenched in beautiful colors and decor. The menu has cocktails, appetizers, nachos, fajitas, quesadillas, Latin fusion specials and much more. We have been here for lunch primarily and always enjoy the food. Some favorites are the fajitas, especially the pineapple fajita. It's a large serving, but delivers great flavor. I also liked the quesabirria plate, having grilled corn tortillas stuffed with tender birria and cheese. There are many delicious items to enjoy, and we always order something different. Overall we enjoy the food, so much flavor and variety. The miss (-1 star) tends to be the service, as each time we start with an attentive server, but they tend to get lost at the end. Overall, we appreciate the colorful flavors of their food, seving great flavor to satisfy every palate. With so many Mexican restaurants in the area, we definitely recommend Catrina's. read more

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous inside! Such a fun visit and it's hard not to marvel at the beauty around you while you're eating. Service is wonderful. The food options are endless; I had choice fatigue and could not decide on anything. I ended up getting the Mexican sushi which was such a creative dish: tortilla with rice, tuna, and amazing sauces on top. It was so freaking good! The queso fundido also impressed me as a creative dish. Cheese and mushrooms are my two favorite things! All of the drinks looked phenomenal and come in the coolest glasses. The food is overpriced and bland, the drinks are overpriced, both the food and drinks come in small portions. The service is absolutely horrible and I have been to this place many times with friends and family giving them many chances. Ambience. 10 out of 10. Service and staff 11 out of 10. Very attentive and accommodating. Food. 5 out of 10. Don't get me wrong, the staples like beans rice chips salsa were all good. That was where it ended. The fajita platter was barely hot and therefore neither were the vegetables. The onions were cold and the meat was cut overly large and not really able to fit the tortillas. I had the rice bowl with pastor. Skip the pastor and get the beef. Get any other meat but the pastor. Good color but no flavor and kinda tough. All in all I think Catrinas has potential. But like the meat it needs time to marinate to come to full flavor. If all you need is some chips and tequila. Well then you are home they have quite the collection......of tequila. read more

Since Catrina's has opened, my wife and I have been regular customers. The food is amazing and consistently well prepared. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The service is excellent. We were so excited to try but left really disappointed. The sandwich stuff I had back at home would've honestly been better. $18 for a small plate of food that was not good at all. I got the pina burrito. The chicken was way too dry and the tortilla was super rough and hard to cut. It tasted like there was no seasonings at all. The rice was extremely bland as well. 3 of us got different items on the menu and said the same thing. No seasoning and chicken was dry as heck. Will never come here again. This new restaurant in Point hope is a great addition to the community. It's very busy and has a great ambience to go with friends or family. We understand they are figuring out the process as our food got delayed but the manager Alfredo has taken great care and brought us hot food and that's all matters and also gave us some tasty shots. Pork belly tacos are delicious, but two tacos with a really small trail of pork belly in each taco for $18! We go to La Hacienda every single Friday so we thought we would switch it up and oh boy what a sharp contrast. We understand this is a sister restaurant to that one unfortunately we were very disappointed. They gave you just a little tiny bit of salsa and chips and we had to ask several times for them to bring out more. La Hacienda has a happy hour from 4 to 6 Monday through Friday. Their happy hour here is Sunday through Thursday which we almost left on that note, but decided to give them a try. Our waitress was not very attentive. We had to ask several times for refills on things that we never got. We also paid double what we pay La hacienda. We will not be returning. read more

When we first got here the vibes were nice and we were feeling good. That was until we met our waitress (don't know her name, and don't care) (white girl with an attitude) she took our order which I ordered the fries and fajitas which from the picture looks like it comes on a skillet and the description does not say that it doesn't. When we received our food I received a sad plate of fries barely coated in cheese cause and with 5 pieces of chicken on it. Loved the vibe immediately as we walked through the door past many many tequila bottles, hence their name into a spacious open dining area with comfortable tables and booths. The walls are adorned with blown glass dia de los muertos with agave sprouting upward. We were promptly seated and immediately serviced chips with fresh salsa with just enough heat. We ordered Mexican corn ribs and funido queso with fresh mushrooms and chucks of poblano peppers......We then both had the carnitas with Mexican rice beans and helping of pico de gallo with guacamole.......The pork was extremely tender and nicely seasoned..... Took home some flan for dessert later. Jose whose Dad and brother are also named Jose stopped by the table to check on us and we chatted for a moment. GREAT FOOD, GREAT STAFF AND ATMOSPHERE. Tonight was our fifth time there. Everything was great. We cannot remember our waiter's name, but he was the young man from Venezuela. He was very attentive and did a great job!
