I went to the tattoo shop for a very specific piercing. I did my research, and the most important thing I found was to find someone who really knew what they were doing. Nelson is the piercer here at Salvation Tattoo, and he is very particular. He makes sure everything is perfectly place and completed. I appreciate the time he took to make sure my piercing was exactly how I wanted it, from color of jewelry to placement. There's so much jewelry to choose from and the studio itself is well setup. The vibe is more high end from the many many tattoo shops in the area. You can tell they care about the work they do, they have areas to sit with tables to view artwork for those getting tattoos. Very positive experience- on a conference trip for work and was adventuring in between the events with a colleague- we decided it was a great idea to get tattooed in Miami- the city with the most tattoo shops per capita! We did a little research that night and called a few shops the next afternoon- I was impressed with Salvation and their customer service first impression. They understood the assignment- we were in town for 20 more hours and wanted a souvenir piece of art before we left- they got it! Appointment made, pics texted, and when we walked in, they were ready! @pepe_tattoo_305 did our tattoos- he is a man of few words but he was kind, accommodating, and clean! Staff working that day were all very nice, the atmosphere was chill, and the tattoos are healing nicely a week out of being done! Where do I even start? I have been a loyal client and friend of everyone at this tattoo shop. I let one artist who is not a licensed tattoo artist practice and does some tattoos on me. He vented to the color of tattoos. It landed me in the hospital for two days. Getting IV medication antibiotics for a massive skin infection. it blows my mind that this tattoo shop allows Tattoo Artists to do work without a license and they also have a female deer piercer who is also not licensed working there. Her name is Esmeralda, so please do not get any tattoos done by Nelson. He did not sterilize the equipment and gave me an infection. I have yet to receive an apology from the owner of the shop. read more

While there are a thousand tattoo shops in the south Florida area, you won't get better service and artists than you will at Salvation Tattoo on Miami beach. I made an appt for a custom tattoo with Marcel through the companys IG. We were connected before hand so that he could get an idea of what I wanted and by the day of, it was mostly complete. The only thing we needed was coloring ideas and placement. I arrived for my appt and Marcel met me in the front. We discussed everything we needed to within maybe 20 to 30 mins, we went upstairs to his loft studio. It was a small, yet cozy room with 1 other artist. My husband was able to come with me. Marcel was amazing throughout the experience. He had a light hand and checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok. Getting a rib tattoo was suppose to be very painful from what I was told. For myself, and Marcels skill, it was completely bearable and similar to my wrists. Overall, I will be coming back to see him for another piece and have already recommended him and the shop to numerous friends. It's worth the hour drive from my house. I was in Miami for a 3-day business trip, and have have had a few tattoo concepts on my mind for some time now. I walked into Salvation and was instantly greeted with a smile from some of the workers. I wasn't sure about availability or who to work with not being from the area, and I mentioned that I was a fan of traditional tattoos and had some that I'd like to work out. Will, an artist, overheard my conversation and I saw his eyes light up. I knew he was the man for the job after he enthusiastically showed me some of his portfolio, and while he does it all and does it well, he explained his passion for vintage style art. We spent some time working out the details of the first piece and I committed. It turned out AMAZING. So good in fact that I mentioned I had another piece in mind to complement it. Given my limited time in Miami, Will volunteered, his schedule permitting of course, to come in the next day if I decided to move forward with the second piece on his day off. Needless to say, I was back for more the next day will equally amazing results. The whole crew made me feel welcome and in good hands, and the work speaks for itself. I'd highly recommend Will and Salvation Tattoo and Lounge if you're in the area and serious about getting some quality work done. I hate writing bad reviews, but this place is unprofessional and dangerous. I entered yesterday to buy jewelry for my septum. They didn't have many options but I still opted for buying one for $20. I was having a hard time putting it in myself, so they told me for an additional $10 a piercer could help me. The girl they designated was off. She couldn't find the hole so she did her best to feel it out, which was fine with me. Then she started dissing the person who pierced me in the first place asking if they were professional bc my hole seemed uneven to her. Ok sure. She had such a hard time she told me I needed to re-pierce, which would be $50. Now she needs a different jewelry to re-pierce, another $20. She has ME hold the clamps for her since she's left handed. Breath in breath out. She pierced me MAD uneven & through the bottom of my columella, near the surface. I'm bleeding heavy and tell her to take it out it's all wrong. She proceeds to say "oh you're right. it'll close in 2 days." WHAT? At this point, I don't ever want a septum again I don't want the jewelry & there's no way I'm paying for anything. They won't let me leave until I stop bleeding. They whisper with the manager, tell me they're sorry, but the manager doesn't speak to me directly. They should have done more in my opinion as I was pierced incorrectly. I feel like my body was invaded since they pierced an area I didn't consent to! This place is ratchet, unprofessional and dangerous. Steer clear. read more

I DO NOT recommend this place for a TATTOO. This is coming from a TOURIST. And that says everything. I was given a quote from the piercer and NOT the tattoo artist. First step: they need to run the business and management way better. Secondly. I was quoted 300$ for a certain piece I wanted. Third of all they gave me an hr wait estimate time frame. I was ok with quote and time. However unfortunately than I was told after the hr wait time I was given it was gonna be another hour. That being said I was already aggravated but still managed to wait 2 hrs total. Turns out since the piercer quoted me for a tattoo and NOT the tattoo artist himself how ironic right. They told me it was gonna be double the amount of the price that was given in the beginning when I walked in asking for a quote. Than they told me it was gonna take 5 hrs. That wasn't the problem. The problem was is that I am a TOURIST who was given the run around about time management. Than was given a FALSE quote on tattoo. the PIERCING management here is great. But for the TATTOO management TERRIBLE. to top it off durning the waiting periods majority of like 3 artist were talking about the tattoo. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST wasted 2 hrs in Miami that I will NEVER get back. HOPE THEY SEE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE I WILL NOT TAKE IT DOWN. I got my first tattoo here about 5 years ago. They were really good with a nervous first timer. I went back for more just a few days ago. I love my new tattoos. Wil did amazing work. We spent a while figuring out exactly what I wanted. He was meticulous. He made great suggestions and not until I was 110% sure that we got it exactly right, color, size, look did we go ahead. During the tattooing he made sure I was comfortable. He told me he has a "light touch" and he may be right. I have little experience so I can't compare, but I got one tattoo in my neck and one on my side and neither made me cry or even whimper. The store looks good, the rest of the staff is super friendly and accommodating. DO NOT GO HERE FOR PIERCINGS. I took my daughter yesterday to get her nose pierced. This was something she had been looking forward to for months. It was supposed to be a reward for a number of accomplishments achieved and commitments fulfilled. It meant so much to her and she was so excited! And due to the incompetence of the staff, not only did she have to get painfully pierced two times, the nose ring they put in was just dangling in place with no backing clasp. And then, SHOCKER, it fell out overnight and the hole closed up! The process started out ok but then after the first piercing, the girl couldn't get the clasp on to lock in place. I noticed the gloves the girl were wearing way way too big for her (think of a toddler wearing their parents clothes). With those huge gloves that didn't fit, there was no chance she would be nimble enough to put the backing on the nose ring. After fumbling over it for at least five minutes, all the while causing excruciating pain to my daughters nose, the nose ring came out and she concluded the hole closed up on the inside of her nostril. So after 5-10 minutes of torturous pain, my daughter had to decide if she wanted to get pierced yet again or give up on what was supposed to be an exciting reward that she had been looking forward to for so long. She somehow mustered up the guts and let the girl do it again! So she gets pierced for a second time and instead of using a nose ring that would stay in place, she just put in a dangle that had no backing clasp. And surprise f'ing surprise, it fell out overnight. My daughter has literally been traumatized by this incompetence. Do not get pierced at Salvation Tattoo Lounge, consider yourself warned. read more

Went in yesterday for a henna tattoo. Left it on my back for an hour as recommended to dry and the henna peeled/washed right off less than 5 hours later. Only the marker stencil of my tattoo is now left. I went in today to ask if maybe I can get a refund as the receptionist told me the henna would stay on for approximately two weeks and it clearly did not. Kevin an employee was a bit hasty and refused to give a refund. I basically spent $74 (64$ + a $10) on a marker stencil. This is absolutely ridiculous. I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone who wants a henna tatto. If I could give a zero star rating I would. read more
