After a couple nightmarish experiences I'd sworn off the diamond district as unapproachable. I know little about diamonds, so I thought I'd try a big box store. A friend recommended I see the woman who sold him his engagement ring, Stephanie. I gave it a try and am glad I did. These guys are resellers. They take diamonds out on notes from the wholesales than mark them up a little bit. So you can ask to see whatever cut, carat, etc you want, and they'll track it down for you. They also did my setting, and it was much more reasonable than Blue Nile. Compared to pricescope.com they were about 7% higher, but it was worth it to be able to see the diamonds in person. They're also just great to work with, highly recommended. read more

I had a ring handed down to me from my grandfather which was damaged and had pieces missing. I went to several places around Boston but no one could envision the way the ring was supposed to be.
