They were able to accommodate my son-in-laws multiple allergies and he loved his chicken parm. It filled the whole plate! My husband had the chicken cutlet caprese special and he said it was incredible. Only downside regarding the food was the chocolate chip skillet we ordered for dessert was burnt...like I could smell the char as soon as our server placed it on the table. $59 for a veal chop. $39 for a short rib ragu pasta dish!! Omg criminally overpriced. There are dozens of better Italian places in the area. SMH ‍The veal chop is as ok at best. And the ragu pasta dish didn't have that much meat in it and the portion size was small. Lupas in Berkeley Heights literally has the same Short rib ragu for $29 and it's my favorite go to Italian restaurant by far and it there was so much more meat. I really wanted to like this place after seeing all the great reviews, but the experience was a letdown from start to finish. The ambiance is actually very nice, especially for a restaurant hidden behind a strip mall. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the night. When we arrived, no one was at the host stand. After waiting a few minutes, someone who appeared to be a runner or assistant eventually approached us. We had a reservation and were offered a high-top; when we asked for a regular table, it felt like a reluctant accommodation. We were brought bread, butter, olives, and an eggplant caponata that was extremely oily. We booked through OpenTable because we had an $80 reward card, and the restaurant loudly advertises a prix fixe menu on its website. Oddly, we were never offered the prix fixe menu, and we noticed no other diners were either. It felt intentionally hidden. When we asked for it, the waiter (Hector) seemed visibly annoyed. We ordered eggplant rollatini and shrimp appetizers, and the angry chicken parm as the entrée. If you order off the prix fixe menu, expect noticeably smaller portions. Two pieces of eggplant rollatini instead of three, about a third of the usual shrimp portion, a tiny piece of chicken parm, and a small cannoli. At $55 per person, that feels excessive. The chicken parm was thin, burnt, and came out slightly cold. Easily a 2/5. They also charge for soda refills, which genuinely surprised me. I dine out frequently and almost never see that anymore. When the bill came, we tried to use the OpenTable reward card and were told the waiter had never seen one before. There was supposedly no manager on duty, and we were told the card couldn't be accepted and that we had to put the full amount on a credit card instead. Between the unfocused service, the awkward handling of the prix fixe menu, and food that didn't come close to justifying the price, this was not a good experience. I had heard about this place from my daughters friend and decided to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary here . What a hidden gem ! Located on the back side of a strip mall in Warren . Such a beautiful ambiance definitely a good date night spot . They have a full bar and plenty of seating . We went on a Wednesday night around 5:30 and it wasn't too busy at the time but by the time we left they were almost a full house . The staff were super friendly and attentive. The menu has plenty of delicious choices and they offer specials as well. I'm all about the appetizers so me and my eldest daughter ordered several to share as our meal . We had the artichoke salad ( fell a little short in the flavor department could have probably used a balsamic glaze to elevate the flavor ) but the special truffle lunetta OMG so good petite raviolis and truffle butter cream sauce . We also ordered the seafood tower for 2 which was served with raw oysters and clams and jumbo shrimp and chunks of crab meat . We also tried the grilled octopus specials served with fingerling potatoes. My husband tried the pork chop which was about 2 inches thick and cooked to perfection tender and had great flavor. My youngest ordered the tagliatelle pasta which was cooked slightly al dente and served in a tomato cream sauce it was delicious . Our meal was simply delicious and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Friends of ours recommended Saly G's a while back and this past Saturday my wife and I had a chance to stop in for dinner. This is a popular restaurant...it was a snowy night and the place was still crowded. Reservations definitely required. Our friends told us we had to get the shrimp appetizer. Made in a tomato sauce with a bit of spice, it was very good. When you first are seated, the restaurant also serves a bowl of olives, a small dish of eggplant, and bread. After having that and the appetizer, it was a lot of food before the entrees are even served. For entrees, I ordered the Tagliatelle and my wife had Chicken Milanese. Both were very good. Saving room for dessert was a good move as the Tiramisu was outstanding! This was a fun dinner out at a new place for us. The setting was nice, service excellent, and delicious food! read more

A fantastic dining experience. Good food, great service, and good ambience. If you feel like Italian food, and steaks, this is the place to go. Most Italian places I have visited during work or even my backyard are not as good as this place, and I have eaten that many Italian restaurants since it's one of my favorite food categories. Start with the meatball appetizers and the shrimp. They were great. The calamari on the spicy side was also very good. Calamari was fresh and tender so you know it wasn't frozen. My colleague ordered the veal which was really good and our guests ordered the stuff chicken which was fantastic. I ordered the pasta and clams which was perfectly flavored. This place is very close to home, and it has taken years to give it a try. People have been recommending it and seeing availability for a last minute Friday night detour I thought, why not? Entering it is a lot bigger than what I imagined. For being literally in the 'back' of a strip mall I am very familiar with I never knew quite what to expect. It seems to be an elegant hidden gem that even I avoided through the years for no good reason at all. So far, so good. Service was good, but it was odd that the salads came out with the appetizers. For a small table, that meant it was a challenge for space in addition to it being a challenge to enjoy the meal. With that part coming out quick it made the long delay for the main meal somewhat odd. For a relatively early dinner before the main rush entered the door I can't imagine it was due to them being busy. Anyway... It all comes down to the food. For an appetizer, the CALAMARI - sweet and sour chili sauce and traditional on the side was great. The sauce was on the side since I wasn't too sure about the sweet and sour chili sauce option, but that turned out to be a big hit in the end. The CAESAR - chopped romaine lettuce, shaved parmigiana, croutons, caesar dressing, salad I had along with that was pretty average. For my main meal I chose the SPAGHETTI CARBONARA - spaghetti alla chitarra, pancetta, sweet onions, parmigiano-reggiano 24 months, organic egg yolk. This has been my test meal whenever I see it on the menu. The egg yolk on top was new to me. I could probably do without that but the main issue for me was taste. As in, it was hard to tell it was carbonara. The dish oddly had little taste at all. I had ordered the LONG HOT PEPPERS - garlic, oil, shaved parmigiana as a side. Don't ask me what kind of peppers they are, the waiter did not know either. They were hot enough for me to be enjoyable, but they ended up being my flavor add to the carbonara for the night. No, carbonara is not supposed to be hot, and I am not suggesting this combination should be on any menu. However, for this night it gave the meal enough flavor for it to be enjoyable. read more

A nice traditional Italian restaurant with a solid foundation of pastas and traditional entrées, including salmon, steak, and eggplant. Besides hosting events with delicious food, there is a nice mix between casual and elegant dining. Fully stocked bar with multiple televisions, it's an easy place to watch sports games and catch-up with friends. On the other side of the restaurant, there are plenty of tables with candle, lighting to facilitate a relaxing Italian dining experience. Well I do like the ambience, the food is not unique nor particularly high value given the cost of most dishes. Our food took a long time for preparation from the kitchen and was not fully accurate while ordering with the waiter. It's nice to be seated with hors d'oeuvres but the bread was not particularly tasty. The service otherwise was very good . Apps were the meatballs- very bland- the spicy sauce was actually duck sauce and the marinara sauce was again bland. The wife ordered the Bolognese - it looked good but again tasteless. My daughter ordered the Fra Diavolo seafood, came without pasta-$10 for a small tasteless side . I had the chicken Parm- it was big and was the best of all three - which isn't saying much. We skipped dessert and coffee - didn't want any more disappointment. There are much better places in the area and will never ever go back. Do yourself a favor and and skip this tasteless wonder. Thank you Sally G's for the best - by far take out/ curbside pickup I had during this shut down. You never disappoint when we dine in and I do appreciate that this carried to the curbside. The Sally G shrimp app and broccoli rabe and sausage were perfection. My husband enjoyed his Pappardelle and everything was still piping hot when we opened it at home. Sunday, July 12 - update. We went to dine at the restaurant. They have a small tent outside set for "alfresco" dining. We did go early - 6:15 PM but no one else was there. Hey Warren and surrounding towns - get out and support this business. We need to keep our locals open and this place deserves the pleasure of your company and business. I ordered the Sunday Special- $25 for a big dish of rigatoni, a side dish of one very large meatball, sausage and pork braciole. My husband had a pasta special that very good as well. Great place! First time here and was only outdoor dining due to construction going on indoors. The outdoor ambience isn't the best but it worked out. Our dining experience last night was disappointing for many reasons. The venue is pretty, the menu enticing, but the staff and the food did not deliver. Appetizers were Ho-hum- meatballs very dense and heavy when they should have been light and tender. Artichokes were bland. Bread was Ok but no olive oil to dip- instead eggplant was served to top the bread- at least I think it was eggplant but it was tasteless. We had never dined here before so we decided to try several pasta dishes. We asked for the cheese on the side because of diet restrictions of one of us. Oddly, we received cheese on the side but also ON the pasta, so two of the dishes had to go back. We had to wait quite awhile for them to be remade and the wait was not worth it. All the dishes basically tasted the same- they were all bland, under seasoned and over cooked. Not an Al dente piece of pasta in sight. There was no discernible salt, pepper, garlic, onion, basil or any other spice in any of the dishes. One was supposed to have bacon and we couldn't find any. Next came the chicken dishes- angry chicken and chicken Milanese, both were just OK- I've had better from pizza joints. At this point, we had been dining for over two hours due to long waits between courses and because we had to send some pastas back. We decided to get the chicken wrapped to go rather than eating it all in the restaurant. One waiter picked up the two dishes to bring back to the kitchen to box. Inexplicably, another waiter came over to help and put all the used utensils from our meal on top of the Milanese. When he realized his mistake, he removed them but now his hand and dirty utensils had been all over our food! We told him not to bother packing it up and watched as our $32 entree was ruined. We spent over $300 on this meal and were annoyed about how much time and money had been wasted on a mediocre at best dining experience. We really wanted to like this place but sadly we will not be going back. read more

I want to apologize in advance that my pictures definitely do not do this food justice as it was a rather dimly lit intimate setting. Perfect for a date night or special occasion. We both started with apps from their nightly specials menu... Day boat scallops- seared jumbo scallops with black truffle Creme Fraiche... these scallops were perfectly prepared, some of the best I've ever tasted. Zucchini parmigiana- egg battered and layered with ricotta, fresh mozzarella, parmigiana, and San Marzano tomato basil sauce. Everything about this was delicious especially the tomato sauce. For the mains... I noticed they had one of my favorite pasta dishes on their nightly specials Spaghetti Carbonara, so I couldn't resist. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente topped with pancetta, parmigiano-reggiano, black pepper, and egg yolk. I am so happy I ordered this it was great. We also had the Chilean Sea Bass which was panko crusted topped with fresh bruschetta over fresh spinach. The fish was flaky and moist and went well with its accompaniments. After all of this delicious food we were too full to order dessert so we settled for a cappuccino which was served with a biscotti and some delicious complimentary zeppole. The perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. Also we had the pleasure of meeting the Owner/Head Chef Joe who checked in with us to see how everything was and it was great chatting with him, Very friendly... Ambiance was very nice but food was subpar. The angry chicken parm was a huge, overdone cutlet served on a wooden butcher block. I love quirky presentations, but this was odd and I can't imagine very sanitary. The only thing "angry" about the vodka sauce was me on how bland it was. It had heat without any flavor. On top of the fact that you are paying a fortune for a piece of chicken, you then have to order the pasta on the side, as there isn't an accompaniment to the dish. Again the sauce was bland and tasteless. The only enjoyable part of this experience was the dessert. The spicy shrimp weren't spicy, the meatballs were tasty, the fried calamari was also good (heavy on the tentacles). The gnocchi were pillowy, with a great black truffle flavor. The chicken Milanese was tasty. The bolognese Pappardelle suffered from the same issue as at many other restaurants -- it's just a meat sauce, not a slow cooked traditional bolognese. Wow! What an amazing place! The tables were really appropriately spaced and the decor was really nice. It set the stage for a really nice fun night out. There is a nice liquor menu and the bar looked super fun if it weren't covid . We also had a private party there and it was the most perfect event. Well once about , three or four years ago we try out this spot when the Groupon era was big but very limited menu so I guess I wasn't impressed with the Groupon menu ! Well I heard from a co worker that the chef/owner was won 1st place on chopped the tv show recently. So on Saturday we went to the restaurant and was impressed with there current menu ! We started out with the clams oreganata fabulous the best I ever had !!!!! We both had the skirt steak was on the money best I have had excellent flavor with a small side of mash and spinach. I wasn't a fan of spinach unless it cream spinach! The dessert was amazing so different a home made ny Chesse cake only one thing that was negative it was to small of a slice. The prices were far for the quality of food ! Super impressed and will become a regular customer. I am not sure if they have a kids menu so that would be a plus for people with children. The restaurant is tucked away in back of a small mall in Warren . The staff was easy to deal with and excellent customer service from our waiter . They had plenty of hand sanitizer on each table . They have a bar and party room . The owner was helping his waiter and talking to the customer about their experience with the restaurant. Sorta nice to see that he just not their to hang out !
