My husband and I started working with Holli from Sam Ivy K9 Dog Training when our little rescue pup was 10 months old. Sam Ivy and their AMAZING Trainer Gina SAVED MY FAMILY. Our Dog graduated from Sam Ivy's training program, and we could not be happier with our final results. My Fiancée and I are owners of two mixed breed dogs a German S. Mix is who is 4.5 years old and a Lab/Pit mix who is 2.5 years old. In the earlier part of this year our 2.5-year-old start acting out. Daily Walks in the neighborhood were a hassle as he would drag and pull us all around. Once we stepped out the door he would zone out and begin to ignore any commands we gave him. To make matters worse he began showing signs of aggression on walks toward other Dogs and neighbors. He would growl, show his teeth and bark in a very intimidating matter. So much that we would try and avoid any contact with other people all together on our walks. We believed he felt nervous or on edge when walking outside the house, felt like he always had his guard up. Later he started with trying to assert himself as the Alpha Dog in our Household. Without warning he would start to size up his older sibling and attack him for no reason. This was not play fighting, you can clearly tell it was aggression. We tried our best to keep his behavior in check and started taking time out of our day to attempt to train him on our own. Unfortunately, we were not successful and weeks later at a Family gathering our Dog made the mistake of Biting a family member causing them to go to the Urgent care for wound treatment. My Fiancée and I were faced with an owner's worst nightmare ''Do I have to put my Dog down due to his aggressive behavior?''. We started researching training programs online but could not decide on who to go with. Some trainers we called were either fully booked or had outrageous prices for their programs. Later a friend told us about Sam Ivy and their online training courses via zoom. I was skeptical about learning online compared to in person, but we decided to give the training course a try as we desperately needed help. We reached out about a possible consultation and on the same day a Sam Ivy Rep called us. Consultation was about 45-60 minutes long but worth every second as the rep was taking her time to understand us and our ongoing situation with our Dog. Once we were done with the consultation the rep knew our case was urgent and we were paired up to meet with their Trainer Gina that same week. Two days later we meet Gina via Zoom and from the first conversation I knew we were in good hands. She took the time to review our consultation notes and immediately came in with a strict plan for us and our Dog to follow. The plan included in-home leash training, a prong collar, E-Collar (both collars are included with training package) and two 60 min training sessions a week. In these sessions our trainer showed us how to understand and communicate with our Dog as well as how to build chemistry. Gina showed us so many great techniques/tips as we worked both inside and outside our home. She even assigned us Homework to work on in between all our sessions. K9 Language is a real thing and Gina showed us how to speak it! After each session we felt our Dog's confidence and as well as ours getting higher and higher. Fast Forward a month a half later and we have a brand-new dog! All signs of aggression are gone. No more barking, growling or lunging towards other on walks. His nervousness as well as ours is no more! The favorite part of our day now is when we go out and walk together as a family of 4. We no longer have to worry about our dog acting out or making another ''mistake''. It was hard work for us, but we will continue using all the exercises and methods we learned from this program. Jessie and I just graduated from the intermediate on-leash program. From the initial consultation to graduation I can't sing enough praise of this program. Jessie is 120lb Cane Corso (only 1year old) and she went from being a sweet puppy that was hard to manage due to her excitement and size, to an extremely well behaved large dog that's still super sweet. The program works and it was fascinating to see how the different steps build on each other to create order and consistency in the training. We signed up with the virtual training classes at Sam Ivy training website. We have a Doberman puppy who was 5 months old when we began. Our trainer was Nate. He was excellent...very professional and personable. Ada went from being a very wild puppy to a very obedient, well-mannered dog. The lessons were very thorough and covered every facet of dog training. The price was most commensurate with the quality of training. I have found that you most often get what you pay for in experience and quality. I highly recommend the Sam Ivy training to anyone interesting in having a trained, well-behaved dog. The training we received from Blas of Sam Ivy K9 was everything we needed to keep our American Bull Dog, Smokey. We have 2 other small dogs and Smokey didn't like to share. We have 3 pups, 1 is a 4 1/2 vizsla (boy), a 4 1/2 pharaoh hound (girl), and a 1 1/2-year-old Australian Cattle dog (girl). My two girl pups were showing aggressive issues and they were starting to get our boy involved too. We called Sam Ivy a few months ago after a consultation with another independent breeder. Claudia came to the house the following day to discuss how they work. She was very professional, clear and thorough in her presentation. She didn't try any pushy or cheesy sales tactics that I can see from a mile away. Instantly we new she was the right person for the job. She also has a boxer/pit mix and knows the Rotty breed. She could pick up subtle personality traits of the dogs that would help guide us throughout the training course. It's been a few weeks now and our dogs have come a VERY long way. We are so pleased with our results so far. We are even continuing onto service dog training. We are getting exactly the results we wanted. Our American bulldog/pit bull mix was a counter surfer and door dasher and the counter surfing is gone. We actually forgot and left the garage door open and she did walk out but didn't run when we called her. She actually turned around and came back across the street to us. NEVER has she done that. I highly recommend Sam Ivy K9 Consultants! This training was life changing for both my family and our dogs Rocco and Bella. Jackie (from Sam Ivy) trained both of my dogs with very different behavioral issues. My rescue dog Rocco had aggression issues from living on the streets of Miami. He is a large, muscular and very strong dog. He showed aggression towards people, cars, bicycles, and anything that moved. Taking him for a walk, to the vet, or anywhere was physically and mentally draining as I had to struggle to keep him under control. My neighbors were terrified of him and would go into their homes if we were walking down the street. Jackie taught me how to train him in the "Proper Pack Behavior" course which focused on the bad behaviors. He has been taught the behavior that is expected of him and he looks to me for direction when he is in a stressful situation where he used to lash out aggressively. He is truly a changed dog. He is much more relaxed and happier. Rocco also participated in the "On Leash Training" course and learned numerous new useful commands. My other rescue dog Bella had obedience issues. She was always very spoiled and had developed into a very stubborn dog. She would not listen when instructed and developed unacceptable behaviors. Jackie worked with us to show her commands in the "On Leash Training" course. The results have been very positive. Her behavior has changed where she has learned that we are the boss and that she needs to listen to our commands. She has learned numerous commands that we use on a regular basis. I tried numerous other trainers and training methods with both Rocco and Bella but none of them were successful. Jackie did a great job of explaining the training, what was required of us to be successful and corrected us if we were doing something incorrectly. She really gave us the tools to deal with any future training issues and to reinforce the training through out Rocco's and Bella's lives. We have a 10month old French bulldog boy who was very energetic, chaotic, didn't listen, jumped on everyone and everything, pooped/peed anywhere he pleased, and whenever we walked him he would pull like crazy. It was impossible to let him out of his crate whenever we had guests over or wanted to eat something. He just completed his "proper pack behavior training program" and we couldn't be happier. Our dog trainer Jackie was very patient and gave me plenty of helpful tips and instructions on how to deal with his behavior. In only a few weeks Zorro transformed into a better dog that people now actually want to be around.
