I went to see the new store in The District in Irvine/Tustin, but was honestly wary as they were formerly in South Coast, so I assumed they'd be out of my price range. The Basics - They offer simple to very high end pieces. Everything's of excellent quality - even the lower price points used unique means of saving cost without looking cheap. Worth noting - they are authorized for high-end like Tacori, Jeff Cooper, etc... Diamonds are certified, and they bring out certificates and loupe. They offer layaway and full-value trade-in (if you later want to upgrade your stone). They also guarantee lowest price in OC for comparable design & quality. Selection is incredible and unique. Whether looking for a $250 piece or that $20k showstopper, they have it all! My Experience - My boyfriend and I found THE ring in a Costco, didn't buy it and now can't find it anywhere. I'm looking for a new IT ring and also for his ring. They did not try to talk me out of our budget ($3500 mine, $1500 his) and even showed us options for much less. Sam himself helped us - I looked like a bag lady (been sick) and was treated no differently. Also, he KNEW I was only looking today which made no difference. Customers that walked in seemed to know Sam. He said he was interested in my long term business, not a sale today and was happy to provide layaway. Further, unlike every other jeweler, he didn't try to upsell me into Platinum. When my friend asked if I should, his answer was, "She's young and active, so no, I don't recommend it - it will scratch." Hello??? Are you kidding? The people there are really friendly and they go out of their way to show you difference between things. When I was shopping for an engagement ring, they showed lots of different diamonds in my price range as well as different band types. I went to Sam's when a family member recommended that I take my grandmother's ring there to get it resized. I had been hesitant to go because I needed to get it sized up from a 6 to a 7 which can be a little more complicated with stones that are set--and it was only a week before my wedding. I'm so glad I took the ring to Sam's. Not only did they size it perfectly, but they also did it in only a few hours for $30. I then asked about possibly getting a new setting for the diamonds since I'm not a big fan of yellow gold, so I asked them about a platinum or white gold setting. They recommended that maybe I try the rhodium plating first since it would only be $25 and then I'd have about 6 months to decide if I liked the silver color more. The folks here are way nice! Due to losing 80lbs, I needed to have some rings resized. Not only did they do a quality job, it looks like they also cleaned my rings. They fit better and were super sparkly! Also had them repair a fine chain that broke and un-knot another necklace. The resizing was a bit pricey at $30 each ring but their work was quality. Necklaces were $10 for the soldering. Definitely going back to have more resized and maybe some other necklaces cleaned. I may even go back for some new jewelry! I want to start out by saying that it is very difficult to find a jeweler that you can trust. After I got divorced I took all of my old gold jewelry and my engagement ring and wedding band and went out looking for a place that could help me transform everything into a beautiful 'independence' ring. I took everyone's advice here on Yelp (thank you!!!), and I went to see Sam and his wife. Immediately they took me under their wing and educated me on diamonds, significance of certification and listened to what I was really looking for. I worked with both Sam and his wife and everything that is said on here about stellar customer service is completely true. They were both incredibly helpful, honest and trustworthy, which are all traits you want in a jeweler. They helped me design the perfect ring. It was custom made, based on several of their ring designs and incorporated some of the stones that I already had to make it more affordable. We went back and forth a few times, and Sam even pointed out how one of the designs that I wanted would not turn out well on my ring which cost us both more time but he was right, because my ring turned out beautifully. We had one issue during the transaction (a big one), which was that I encountered the option to buy the center stone through a friend. This changed our transaction significantly and another merchant would have most likely been unwilling to make a change so late into the process. However, Sam and his wife truly wanted me to be happy with the ring and so they worked with me to make it all work out, which I suspect ended up costing them money instead of making a profit. I have never written a positive review on here before, but I felt like my experience truly reflects their highly impressive customer service. They deserve 5 stars!! read more

This place is incredible! I came here to have my wife's ring re-sized, re-set, and re-dipped. They did a fantastic job and the price was very reasonable. It was also ready the same day! I came back a couple of days later to have my pendant repaired (it had cracked in one place and I had lost a diamond). They replaced the diamond and saudered the crack and my pendant looks brand new. They were able to have it ready for pick-up in a couple of days, and again, the price was low for the extremely high quality of work they do. I was going to Home Goods and had a watch with me that needed some links taken out and lo and behold there was Sams, so I figured ill just pop in there. The lady that greeted me was friendly, I showed her my watch and she said it would take a few mins and before I knew it she was done, the watch fit perfectly. Love this place. More importantly, I trust this place. After reading the reviews, I skipped the jeweler across the street from my apartment and trekked over to the district to go to Sam Jewelry. GOOD CHOICE. I had them resize my wedding band and clean the necklace I'll be wearing at my wedding. First amazing thing, they resized the ring within an hour and it was perfect. Second great thing, the necklace I gave them to clean was costume jewelry but used to be my mom's so it was important to me... BUT when they steamed it to clean it, all the stones fell off (because costume jewelry). Not only did they fix it, they fixed it impeccably. It looks shinier and brighter than ever and ever stone is exactly where it should be with no signs of repair or glue. AND FOR THE WIN... When I was picking up the necklace, they cleaned my engagement ring at no charge and told me to bring it in right before the wedding so they can clean it again and make sure it looks perfect in pictures. They're also just the freaking nicest people in general. I haven't had good experiences with the quality of what I have purchased here. Yes, Sam is nice and willing to work with you, plus his prices are good, but I have had some serious issues with the rings I have gotten here. The first was a custom design engagement ring that was remade because the band didn't match, but the remake was so weak that within two weeks one of the prongs has broken off and I had lost a diamond, plus it would scratch me and leave marks and rip holes in my clothes. Needless to say we had to get that remade and chose a different design because we couldn't seem to work out the original with Sam. I didn't want to write a bad review, but I recently had the prongs on my third ring (custom made in a different style based on rings he had in the shop about 6 months ago) tightened by him and now one of them is moveable with just my finger nail. I will not be going back anymore. I know people that have had good experiences with Sam, but I don't trust the craftsmanship anymore. read more
