I love this place! The food is great! I had one bad experience and it was the chow main. They must of burned the pot and that smokey burnt taste tainted the chow main but other than that 1 bad experience out of the dozen of times I've gone in there. Just make sure you go in time. I have at least tried all of the Chinese buffets in Barstow they are nasty, panda palace is the best out of the places I have eaten at. Their food is never cold and stail it always taste fresh, the business is always cleaned up I don't see cockroaches I've seen in other places. Their food never dissappoints us. This is fast food Chinese. Portions are huge, and one combo for about $8 can feed two people. The chicken is definitely chicken, but the pork is questionable at best. Good rice and noodles. This is more of a review /question, I want to k ow if there were different owners a couple months ago or something because I read the reviews and most of them are from a year or a couple months ago, the food was sub par and made me feel queasy, maybe its because the cook were probably Mexican or some title of hispanic. Dont get me wrong I'm hispanic I saw them selling horchata and Jamaica , which I thought was cool, but the food was not good, another question I have is Why are they selling Mexican based drinks at a Chinese place, its confusing and does not go well. We were on our way back from Vegas and we wanted to break for lunch, It was thanksgiving weekend and most of the restaurants in this area were closed, except some of the regular chain restaurants which we were in no mood for. For around 12$ we got a huge bowl (serves 2) of soup and half and half chow mein and veg fried rice with steamed veggies on the side. We are vegetarians, so these were the only options we had. The soup had egg. The food was palatable but that's it. The soup was pretty bad. The egg in the soup didn't look like it was cooked completely, so if you are vegetarian and not used to eating eggs that are not well done, I would ask you to stay away from that soup. The steamed veggies came to our rescue. The restroom here was very clean. Their very economic pricing and the fact that they were open on a day when the whole town was deserted convince me to give them three starts. read more

Good Chinese fast food (very similar to the other better known "Panda" restaurant). All served take-out style. Portions are large (almost two meals in one). Place is never crowded (most people take their food home). Located in the Stater Bros. shopping center about a mile east of the Barstow Rd exit of the I-15. Large parking lot. Convenient to replenish your needs to continue your trip. I've eaten here several times. My rationale is this: It's just as good as Panda Express, it's cheaper than Panda Express, it's less packed than Panda Express, it's the only Chinese restaurant in Barstow that isn't infested with pests other than Panda Express, and I can walk here although I cannot walk to Panda Express. Just tonight, I was eating chow mein, rice, orange chicken, and bbq pork. I stabbed with my fork what I thought was a piece of bbq pork. It was small and kinda crunchy. I figured it was just a small piece of pork that got burnt, but upon closer inspection, I discovered that it was shaped like this: http://tinypic.com/r/1zldapc/3 I thought to myself, "Heh, this looks sort of like a spider." Then, because I'm actually terrified of spiders, I thought, "OH GOD THIS LOOKS LIKE A SPIDER, I CANNOT PUT THIS IN MY MOUTH EVEN IF IT IS JUST PORK." And then I threw it away and continued on. Not two minutes later, I'd got a forkful of rice with a tiny, bbq-sauce-doused, black lump mixed in. I assumed, naively, that this was another piece of pork. But when I bit down on it, my mouth was flooded with a bitter-sweet taste quite unlike anything I'd ever tasted. My first thought was that it was a bit nutty, and a bit like black liquorice. My second thought was that I hate black liquorice. My third thought was, why, in a plateful of rice and chow mein and bbq pork and orange chicken, should I find anything that tastes even remotely similar to black liquorice? I spit it out immediately. I examined it with my fork, and discovered that it looked absolutely nothing like pork. The ignorance-is-bliss part of my brain insisted for a moment that it could've been a walnut that got mixed in somehow, and the rest of my brain kindly punched this small part of my brain in the face, because, after all, WHY would a walnut taste like black liquorice? It was at this point that I ran into the kitchen and shoved an entire tortilla in my mouth, just to get the taste out. Then I brushed my teeth and used up about half a bottle of mouthwash. Then I went back to examining. I poked it a bit more with my fork, and it came apart so I could see the inside. It looked exactly like a crushed cockroach. EXACTLY LIKE A CRUSHED COCKROACH. Then I thought, "OH GOD THAT REALLY WAS A SPIDER." In summary: oh god, oh god, oh god, don't eat here, I'm so serious. read more

It depends on who is preparing the food. Some times it is pretty good other times it does not taste good at all. I ate on New Years Eve 2015 and it was not good at all. It is good that they were open and they had quite a line of people. We were waiting as the fried rice had ran out so I chose to have chicken fried rice (special order) and it was a waste of my money and we were disappointed and left hungry.
