Stopped by this spot on the way to Vegas and found it to be a solid, no-frills place for a quick bite. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, which was genuinely enjoyable. The broth had good depth and richness without being overly heavy, and you can tell the ingredients were fresh. Nothing groundbreaking, but definitely satisfying and well-executed. The Takoyaki was also a highlight--nicely seasoned and flavorful, though fair warning: it's very hot on the inside, so take your time before biting in. The mixed pork and beef box was another decent option, hearty and filling, with good flavor overall. Service-wise, this is very much a self-serve, casual setup. You place your order at the counter, grab a seat, and wait for your pager to buzz when the food is ready. No table service here, and you're expected to bus your own table afterward--but honestly, it's no big deal and fits the vibe of the place. The restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained, despite the no-frill style. Even the restroom was tidy, which is always appreciated. Parking is plentiful and easy, making it a convenient stop, especially if you're traveling. Overall, this is a decent spot with okay food--not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit, but a perfectly good option if you're hungry and nearby. It works especially well as a rest stop on a road trip to Vegas when you want something warm, filling, and reliable before getting back on the road.
Decided to use the electric car on the road trip to Vegas and needed to charge in Barstow. The tesla chargers failed on our Mach E today at the outlets but we still needed to eat so we drove over here. The chicken fried rice was great. Miso ramen was loaded with noodles (can I even say too much lol). Hubby got chicken teriyaki stick box that I thought had too much teriyaki sauce but he said he liked it that way. It was charbroiled just right. The cabbage stir fry side veggies were made plain but if you transfer some of the teriyaki sauce it works well. The place is large, clean and airy. I'm totally turning into my dad to find Chinese places on vacations and this one worked out. Will probably be going here on the trips to Vegas.
Cute little shop located in Barstow. The server was great and helped me order a cute fruit slushie boba. I had to order the fruit because they don't offer alternative milk, which was a bit disappointing. They also didn't have just brown sugar milk tea (Which let's be honest, is mostly milk) But what I got was delicious and I really enjoyed it! I didn't eat anything there but I for sure will stop back in the next time I'm passing through!
This is one of those places, where if you are a trucker driving through town, this is going to be the last stop until a very long time where you will be able to pick up some fast casual Chinese street food such and such as pork cutlet rice, spicy szechuan, wontons, or even braised beef noodle soup. This restaurant is what I call a necessity amongst all the big chain franchises whereby they actually serve food in the middle of nowhere with extreme convenience and they bring that kinda Asian Night Market feel to you so you don't have to venture into East Los Angeles or book a trip across the Pacific. The food isn't like "That's a Banger!" or at the level of top shelf...but for opening up in the Badlands of Barstow...this is the closest thing you will get to Certified Asian Authenticity. I've done my best over the course of 2-3 years to come out to Ate8 whenever I get the chance on a long drive and they've kept the same consistency, always delivering a humble meal to us clientele, so an applause to the team and staff for keeping this place open and serving the countless of tourists, locals and truck drivers running about. So for any of you who come here your first time, try out the Braised Beef Noodle Soup they have condiments on the side you can pour down some chilli oil, sambal salsa, etc and just have a decent go at it. And while your at it, they have an array of other options that will at least fill one of your voids. You can tell the owner is a gambling addict with with all those red tiles referencing winning in Mahjong....and with a name like Ate8 -- eighty8 -- 88 -- 八八 (BaBa) -- 發發 You know the owner is 120% some Cantonese Owner Chef + Part Time Casino Baccarat Patron And ladies and gentlemen, that's how you tell you have a legit Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The prices are too steep to be receiving moldy veggies. Place already looked sketch to begin with, but it's proven to be disgusting and poorly managed.
I love Taiwanese Soup and this hit for sure! Very flavorful broth, be sure to get the additional sauces on the side to dip the beef onto, it's really good. Quick service at the time I visited.
On our trip to Las Vegas, we stopped at the Barstow Outlet to search someplace to eat, and my family is always seeking for restaurants that offer noodles or ramen. We found one place called "Ate8 Noodle House". The boss is Taiwanese, and this restaurant serves Taiwanese bentos, noodles, and other dishes. It's a fast Chinese food restaurant, but the food is really tasty and the pricing are affordable. I've saved this place for future visits to Barstow Outlet, and we will surely return to try more foods.

we ordered the wonton noodles, veggie chicken/pork combo and mango smoothie. with the cost of their food, it is exaggeratedly expensive. food taste so bad. the veggies are super salty, pork and chicken breaded taste old, salty and as hard as rock. the wonton noodles only has 2 wonton and 2 large bokchoy with plenty of noodles. noodles is not properly cooked and taste bad, its worst than cup a noodles!! the soup of the noodles is like broth & its not even hot for soup! see the photo, we wasted our money! the mango slushie is a lot of ice with powder mango and booba. taste like sugar in an ice crushed! no matter how hungry you are DO NOT COME HERE!!! you will only waste your time and money.

We ordered the beef braised noodles. Pretty good portion w/ like 5 big chunk of meat, bokchoy n lot of noodles. Price a bit steep but its kinda middle of nowhere so i get it. Broth is flavorful, inside is really big and chill. They have lot of snacks on sale too. Good stop for going between places!
First time eating at this little gem last night! I had the braised beef noodle soup and some potstickers! The flavors were exceptional and it was an amazing meal! Love this spot and plan to return.
Trying something different at our halfway spot on the way to Vegas. Nice selection of food, large, clean dining room good assortment of Asian snacks to buy as well. The veggies were a bit on the bland side as they were from a frozen bag, but the soup was tasty as were the shrimp and chicken on the plate. They have a good assortment of condiments and clean bathrooms.

Came here due to Yelp good rating and the food photos looked really good to eat! And yes, this did not disappoint! We were a bit iffy since when we came the place was empty and place is pretty big and open. However, as we were already seated,, some people started coming in. You order on the counter and they will call you when order is ready. Food came quickly. Place is nice and clean. We got the pork chop and the chicken fried rice. Both flavorful and delish! We will definitely be back when we're around the area! read more
Decided to try this restaurant on the way back from Vegas. There's not many Chinese food options but this one looked decent. I'm glad I stopped by! Their Wonton Noodle Soup had deep onion flavor and that authentic taste - I'll be ordering this again! Wasn't too impressed with the Beef Noodle Soup but others in my party thought it was good. This has to be one of the worst meals I've eaten in a very long time. There is an odd flavor after every bite of everything I ate here. I'm not sure if the oil they use is old but it's a terrible aftertaste in my mouth. Sadly I couldn't get through even half of this meal, it was so nasty. How do you ruin RICE? This sucks because I was really hoping this place would be good. I will never eat here again. read more

Stopped over at barstow on our way to Sequoia from Vegas. The lady at the cashier was friendly and helped us choose our food. Super good food! You will want to eat all the meat til the bone on the porkchop. Beef noodle soup has just the right amount of kick. The Thai tea paired so well with the food. The decor around was super cute. If you play mahjong, youll see the circle suit along the wall which I thought was cute. There was even a framed mahjong set up. read more

Came by here while on the road to Vegas and was surprised by the simple menu that had a solid selection of choices. The udon noodle comes with 2 pieces of fried tofu skin and 4 shrimp tempuras which is a very fair combo. There was also a wide variety of snacks for sale, which is super great for road trips. The lady at the counter was really friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The place was fairly empty and really clean, and there was plenty of parking outside just steps away from the restaurant. read more
A really cool idea especially in a pretty small town. Prob as authentic as you're gonna get in this neck of the woods. But if you're looking for healthy, you may be disappointed. If you just want good solid fried chicken, pork chops, go for that bento box! They also serve boba. It's a nice atop for snacks and a meal. Order at the counter style. Nice people. Went on Valentines Day. Empty restaurant, but greeted with a very nice worker. Ordered the Taiwanese Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Spicy Wontons, and a Strawberry lemonade w/ no boba. Taiwanese beef soup was good, portion was smaller than imagined but the noodles are a good amount and have a good bite (chew) to them. The soup was kind of salty. Beef pieces- not many. But tasty. Spicy wontons had a "mala" numbing sauce but mild spice lvl for my taste. The wontons themselves were kind of down played. Tasty but very small and more wrapper than filling so that was kind of underwhelming and disappointing. Strawberry lemonade was good. Very expensive. But if you're a local with not many places of this kind of food to enjoy, it's OK once in a while. I paid $32 for all of that. Lots of seating (cafeteria style) with some decor and a lot of asian snacks incase you need them for your travels. read more

Ate8 Noodle house is a sit in restaurant but you have to order & pay in advance r for your food. So it's kinda of like food court, but it only belong to 1 restaurant only. The food is good, a little bit pricey for the quality & the quantity of the food. Service is good and fast. U just have to get up & get your own water on the counter. I don't stay in the area often, so I maybe come back when around the area read more

Stopped in Barstow on our way back to Bay Area. We didn't feel like eating fast food again so we tried this sit down Asian restaurant. Our party ordered some Ramen, Bento Box and Chicken fried rice. Food and service is decent but nothing special but I do like the portions here so you'll definitely get your money's worth here. read more
