I was actually going to have another company, David AV Installations, handle the job. But that company was the complete opposite of Zack. They were unprofessional, rude, did not arrive on time, and the kicker - showed up and decided not to do the job. Zack agreed to come on short notice the next morning. He arrived on time and got to work. He was careful with the TV (given how delicate OLED screens are), and ultimately got it installed exactly where it needed to be. We needed four OLED TVs mounted, and my husband was concerned about waiting to get them up given how thin they are. Shlomi offered to "private escort" our TVs, which included removing all four of them for the cost of what it would have run us for movers' insurance and boxes. He removed them all extremely quickly, drove them to our new house, and installed them on the walls before we even moved in, all for a super fair price. Shlomi is a really nice, chill guy, he's fully insured, and he's an electrician, so he does a lot of other services. We are definitely going to have him do some other things in our home. He listened, was completely willing to do it my way, and then expertly walked me through why a different approach would work better. A few things that stood out (again): - He installed the entire Frame while I was on a work call. When my call ended, he was already finished, the TV was up, and everything was clean. Zero damage, zero mess, zero disruption. - The same patience and lack of ego from the doorbell project carried over. He could have just done it his way from the start, but he respected that I had a plan and earned his way into changing it. - The result looks exactly like the Frame is supposed to look: flush, clean, like art on the wall. He's earned two installs of loyalty from me, and there will be a third, fourth, and fifth.

The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

The reason for only three stars is because one of the 43" TV's was loose - the bottom two screws connecting the back of the TV to the mount were not screwed in all the way, leaving a loose gap that I noticed when adjusting my TV later that night. I figured out how to remove the TV from the wall piece, and when I went to screw the screws in the rest of the way, I learned that the holes must not have been deep enough - they wouldn't go further. So I pulled out a couple of rubber washers that came with the mounting hardware to stick into the loose space and presto! My TV is now securely fastened to the mount, and replaced onto the wall piece. I don't feel like I should have had to do that. Even if the screws would not screw in further, Shawn could have communicated that to me in the moment (so we could figure out together that using the washers would solve the problem) instead of just leaving it that way.

They were putting the TV mount on an outside wall and made sure we understood that it could be difficult to find studs through the stucco. They even asked if we had the exterior paint incase we had to fill a pilot hole later and paint over it. It was a challenge to find the studs but they spent the time to make sure everything was done right and when finished everything looked great.

I wasn't sure who it was because it was so late and the caller ID said "Pro TV Mounting Same Day..." I figured it was him because then he sent me a message on Yelp that night saying "I tried calling and no one answered". I messaged him to schedule a call at a time that was more reasonable. No answer. Then the same number called during a Sunday afternoon. I asked again to please just schedule the call. When I called at the scheduled time, he sounded almost half asleep on the phone (sorry I woke you up!) and I tried explaining clearly what was wrong with the issue and he said repeatedly, "why don't you just call the people who originally installed it". I mentioned I was unhappy with their work and wanted someone else. He clearly was unfamiliar with what was going on and didn't know basic terminology for installation of doors. Never asked for a guarantee, but I just wanted someone who had a more experienced and expert installation history. He then got upset when I indicated I wouldn't be using his services because he sounded like he didn't know what was going on for the project and I preferred not to pay $80 since all other handymen come to do an assessment for free so they can accurately set expectations for themselves and the customer and there isn't disappointment on either side. He literally started raising his voice on the phone because I was trying to ask his professional opinion and gather more info on what he thought was going on. Maybe he was having an off day because he seemed to get frustrated with what I thought were common questions. It seemed like he just wanted to get me off the phone and do the $80 in-person assessment. So the "phone consultation" part doesn't seem like a real thing. Again, I told him "no problem that's your policy and I appreciate your time" but I will go in a different direction Unprofessional and also seemed to have limited skills for certain simple jobs and really is focused on TV mounting or other things (I mean the phone number ID says Pro TV install"). Again, that's totally ok, but don't get upset when a customer would prefer a different option. And be careful! He then tried repeatedly harass and called me several times after now from a hidden number! He had to be reported to Yelp! It seems like this guy generally has good reviews, but this seemed very unusual and concerning. Just take a look at all the other 1-star reviews. They all talk about the SAME exact issues: calling at inappropriate times, rude/unprofessional, harassing calls, incorrect skills listed, (even being asleep, ha!), etc. There is a clear negative pattern here, but other people seemed to find benefit so up to you based your exact situation.

Out of frustration, I was determined not to cheap out and dug into the options. Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. I've already shared videos and stills with the neighborhood (as we are having coyote issues), and it was so quick and easy to do. A+++ experience all around! Thank you so much, David!
