Absolutely loved this place! The restaurant is located on a golf course, but you don't need to be a member to dine here. Pro tip: Get a seat on the patio area inside, where you can get a beautiful view of the green field with all the comfort and benefits of AC! We enjoyed this place so much that we came here twice. I ordered the oak grilled salmon salad both times, because I enjoyed it so much! The salad size is super generous, with lots of crispy sugared pecans and salty goat cheese. The salmon is likewise massive, and very well grilled! Delicious, and not at all expensive at $17. I asked for dressing on the side, and was thankful I did, as the balsamic reduction is quite sweet and thick. My mother, both times, ordered the Cobb salad. This thing is similarly large, with lots of blue cheese, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits. She really liked the blue cheese dressing, though I found it a tad heavy for my tastes. My dad got the steak flatbread the first time, and the fork cheese sandwich the second. The flatbread was good, though honestly too much (those American portions)! There also wasn't as much steak as I hoped for. The fork cheese sandwich, however, was delightful! Resembling a philly steak sandwich, there were some chunky pieces of steak with lots of melted cheese. His main complaint was that the fries were slightly over fried, making them a little dry. My sister ordered the steak skewers the first time, which came with approximately 8 bite sized chunks of steak. The second time, she got the striploin steak with a side of basil mashed potatoes. She absolutely loved the steak! We also added an order of grilled shrimp skewers, which were charred beautifully and quite flavourful. I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I fully expected an excellent meal as it has a very good reputation and many people I know have been there before and they have always enjoyed their food and experience. I am not a fussy eater and enjoy many different types of food. I ordered the fish tacos-grilled fish. My mother had the fish tacos as well-hers were battered/fried. I got the kale Caesar as a side. The fish was very dry and tasteless, with VERY little cabbage and sauce within the taco. I love fish tacos but this was not edible. The kale salad was-well-kale. They should go back to using Roman lettuce. I sent the tacos back and ordered crab cakes. They were good but I have had better. I think it would have been appropriate for the manager to come out and find out what happened and offer something to compensate. My mother also felt the fish tacos were very disappointing but didn't want to make a fuss. To be clear, I was very respectful and kind to our server who was very nice. I felt very disappointed in my impression of this restaurant and I would probably not go back again. read more

This place has a nice atmosphere and friendly, if not a bit slow, service. That being said the food is extremely overpriced for the quality and portion size that you receive. The food tastes nice but they don't offer any vegan menu options and will serve you tomato sauce on a plate and charge you for an 18$ curry. We came here for steak night and was super impressed with the whole atmosphere! The wait was a little long but there were many tables of 8 plus so it's understandable. We had the chicken and goat cheese flat bread to share and would go back just for those!! My husband had the steak which was cooked perfectly and I had the fish tacos which were incredible! Loved this place. The atmosphere is beautiful- with all of the wood and overlooking the golf course. The service is super professional and attentive. We had a coupon so we decided to check this place out. We shared a flatbread and it was sooooooooooooo soooooo amazing. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. My wife and I decided to head here for dinner, and we weren't disappointed. I ordered the half rack of ribs and my wife ordered the crab cakes and sweet potato fries. Both meals were delicious but the crab cakes were a little pricey for the portion size, the ribs on the other hand were in price range of other locations. One of the best things about this restaurant is the view of the golf course, now you have to be seated in the back area of the restaurant for this option. Now we have been here a couple of times and each time we enjoyed what we had ordered. The one exception, and I've heard the same from friends is that I did t really enjoy the steak. I would say it could have been the day I was there, but others throughout the year had said the same thing. So if you are looking for a nice quiet meal with a great view (especially now with the fall colors) I recommend you have a visit. read more

We went there twice on our road trip from Ontario to PEI. Very nice people and great foods. You can make a reservation via email, the manager is super nice. This is my favorite restaurant in Fredericton. A little out of the way so I don't go often but when I do I never regret it. The service is top notch. The menu is overflowing with great choices. I love steak. I've had many good ones at various restaurants and I also know how to cook a good one. This is part of the reason I am being so critical of Sam Snead's - they have positioned themselves as a steakhouse with an oak grill, but their steaks were sub-par on my last visit. I had the strip loin and my wife had the filet mignon; we were both unimpressed. The steaks were overcooked, dry, tough, and tasteless. I give two stars because the apps were very good. Also, the fish dishes that my party members ordered looked quite good and from their comments tasted good too. I won't rush to come back, but when I do, I will stay away from the steak menu. read more

We had a family get-together at Sam Snead's. It was birthday for 2 birthday parties, my wife's and my brothers. Our reservation time was 6:30 p.m. . We arrived had drinks ordered our suppers and waited and waited and waited. Finally after approximately one hour and 20 minutes we were served. My wife and I each had ordered a hamburger. I ordered extra mushrooms with mine. When we finally got to eat the buns of the hamburger we're like a rock, the mushrooms I had ordered were non-existent. My wife's Caesar salad, she commented,was very blah...... no taste. Only two members of our party said their meal was okay. So then we receive the bill. We had had the hamburger my wife had got the salad as a substitute for French fries which was extra , I had an upgrade on my hamburger of the mushrooms which I stated earlier , we had three beer and the total bill was $67. Very disappointed in this restaurant. We were invited by our family to come and enjoy a meal. We arrived and knew our family members were waiting for us in the restaurant. I approached the hostess and said that we were meeting our family that were already inside. She gave me a dumb look and stood there not knowing what to do. I expected her to let us in so we could just join them. My daughter, who was fet up just standing there interupted her dumb look with "they have a baby", she then seated us with them. I ordered the fish and chips, my wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich and my daughter had a grilled salmon with rice. The first thing I noticed is the flies. Several flies kept landing on my family several times. Some landed on the food and one crawled into my sister-in-laws fries. Flies to me means there is maggots somewhere, clean or not, makes me conclude the kitchen is infested. Next I noted that we were served our drinks in cans. OK for a pizza joint or burger joint, not OK for a mid-range restaurant. Not bottomless either which is cheap of any restaurant to do. Recieved our meals in good time. They forgot my wife's coleslaw, but it came in a cup that was the same size as the ketchup cup. Basically a mouthful of coleslaw, how cheap can they get here. I like ketchup with my fries, again, cheap of them to provide a small cup and I had to ask my wife for her ketchup dip cup. My fish was small in proportion, my fries were all small pieces, I asked my wife if I could eat some of her large pieces of fries, but while enjoying my fries I started to taste what I can only discribe as urine or an off taste. I thought it was possibly my vinegar or ketchup. I could not pin point the terrible flavour. My wife said maybe I was smelling her pulled pork sandwich and when she let me smell it, it was horrible. The gamey smell was not my source of the taste, but I was really getting turned off by this meal and restaurant by now. Only my daughter enjoyed her $22 grilled salmon on rice, which was over priced for a restaurant that is so close to the ocean. I could understand steak being that price. It wasn't that special. This restaurant sucks. My bill came to $67 for a meal that could have been better tasting and served by Boston Pizza. read more
