I tried to buy a used outboard from these guys. I was ready to buy the engine, but needed some more…read moredata to make sure it was what it looked like. The engine came off one of their rental boats - but was told that it was 'the owners boat' (I found out the rental boat bit buy looking at their web site and seeing the boat and the engine in their photos). When I started to ask questions, the sales guy was 100% rude and evasive. He promised to send the service records but when my wife called the main office to see about servicing the engine for shipping, the sales guy called back and went off on her. She was supper upset and crying after the call. I was just trying to buy a motor. No need to make my wife cry. Probably lucky that we did not buy the motor. They were clearly trying to hide something. I would stay away from Rex Marine. There is something bad going on there. No one does customer service this way.

Barrons simply put blew me off. I would call, leave messages, all kindly, but did I get a response. Nooooope. I guess you're either in as an old school City Island person or they don't give a shit about you. Well, I took my money and business to port wash and to Mamaroneck, where get this. People would call you back. Shocking I know.

Very frustrating when you need a boat supply and trying to o finish a short fuse repair! Maybe I'll give them another try if I have a need, but I guess not on a Sunday morning, even though their posted hours say they're open.
