Charlie seems nice but notice he will never get on the phone especially when it comes to talking about money. They overcharged us to rescue a boat. Then gave us a verbal estimate of $750 to destroy our boat which then turned into a written estimate of $1700. When we said forget it they then told us they would start charging us storage charges of $36 a day!! Run far and run fast.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Palmer Point. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. The service yard is filled with experienced workers and they can handle any need a boater may have. The gas dock is cheap and they honor a $0.10 per gallon discount for BoatUS members. They also have an abundance of different sized boat slips with full amenities (power, water, etc.). I also love that it's family owned! I have nothing bad to say about Palmer Point and would highly recommend them to any of my fellow boaters.

They serviced our boat for 3+ years and the work was performed skillfully, on time and with great communication. My service experience with our 27' Grady-White was positive whether it was performed in the shop or on our mooring. While now out of the western Long Island Sound area, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for sales or service if I were to return to the area and have recommended Team Catalano to my friends without reservation.

We don't work at a marina or on boats, we launch the boat in May and it stays in the lake at our dock until the fall- two different processes done once a year each. The worker stood there to say what was done wrong and as we tried to fix the issue continued to make rude comments about us fixing the problem incorrectly. Talk about helpful costumer service! Not. I'd suggest bringing your boat to Candlewood if you have the choice- larger slip to lunch your boat and probably better customer service.

But if our experience is any indicator of management and operations, yikes, you'll want to find a different marina. We talked at noon with marina staff about a slip; first they had to check with ownership but called right back, yes, we had a slip reserved. Then we spoke a third time to repeat information we'd given in the first call, but ok. ETA we told them 5 pm. Fine. Two hours later, staff called again to say that, uh sorry, ownership says we do have openings but dock manager says we don't; you don't have a berth with us. This is peak season. Slips need to be reserved in advance to ensure a place for the night. Not many recreational boaters will venture down thru NYC, Hell's Gate and the East River starting at dusk. Reservations need to be honored. Regrettably, we can't recommend this marina.

I'm extremely disappointed by the treatment my family and I received at this marina. We pay for a…read morejetski slip for a few years and came to use the pool, under the impression that we had access to it. Instead of approaching us discreetly or professionally, the owner's wife Patty chose to confront us publicly in front of other families telling us to read our contract, staring, and making us feel completely humiliated. Her tone and behavior were not only disrespectful but felt classless and racial. It was clear we were being treated differently because we rent a jetski slip rather than a boat slip and possibly because of who we are. We were made to feel like we didn't belong there, and that is unacceptable. There is no excuse for a business owner to treat paying customers this way. If this is how they operate with blatant bias and public humiliation, then people need to know. Families deserve to feel safe and welcome, not shamed and singled out. I will never forget how my family was made to feel that day, and I will never recommend this marina to anyone. Every paying customer regardless of what type of slip they rent deserves to be treated with basic dignity and respect. No one should be made to feel lesser than or unwelcome, especially in a family setting. I believe my family deserves an apology from the owner for this type of treatment and disrespect that we experienced. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and I would caution others to consider this before doing business here.
