Samantha made a HUGE difference in my milia issue. I had several milia under both eyes for many years and could never figure out how to fix them. So one day I google milia removal and Samantha's name came first on the list so I decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did this because although the session was very painful it was worth it in the end. Even with a high pain tolerance it hurt a lot for me so that's important to remember. I would recommend taking a Tylenol or Advil beforehand. She was really helpful throughout the appointment and answered any questions. The place was very relaxing as well. She spent a full hour removing most of my milia. I have attached a picture of it from before the milia, right after the procedure, a day after the procedure and 4 months after it. I do think I'll get it done again because a few more have grown in or grown back but still this is a great improvement from before. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because she mad it seem like they would be completely gone but some of them are still there and I don't know if that's just because I am an extreme case or if she didn't expect it but I am still extremely happy with the results. About a month ago I saw Samantha for milia removal. A number of the areas she treated removed the issue and healed as desired. However, she caused scarring in several areas. One of these areas left a mark much like a chicken pock -- a divot. I don't know what was there prior but it was upsetting to me that she suggested it could have been a pimple since I would never have agreed to that. When I finally saw her to see what might have happened and what the solutions to this could be she continually listed off every other mark on my face -- I'm not even going to try to figure out the purpose but a small part of me that I hope is wrong felt like she used my face much like a scratch pad to test her device -- and I had to get her to focus on the damage she had done. Yes. I know why each and every one of those scars are there. I did not go for milia removal for another scar. It was exceptionally off-putting. She did not apologize once and seemed much more concerned about appeasing me (for reasons extremely obvious) than resolving the damage. She wanted go ahead and use something called a plasma pen on the large mark she create, something very contraindicated for someone with my skin tone (Fitzgerald IV), since it could cause hyperpigmentation. Thankfully, I declined. I mean after what had happened there wasn't a chance I would let her go ahead and continue almost what felt like an experiment. She sent me off with a plasma cream sample telling me it'll take many months and to update her. I have had many skin woes in the past and finally thought I had wisened up. My dermatologist was surprised that (1) an esthetician had used a tool to go this deep into the dermis and (2) that I had allowed one to. I'm more upset by the latter since I should know by now that I need the most thorough and thoughtful treatment when it comes to my skin. I'd previously gone to get extractions at a different spa chain and was told once there they would only do "manual" extractions (i.e without tools, using hands only... completely ineffectual with milia), so I was so excited to find Samantha and actually get the milia out! Honestly entirely painless on my forehead where most were, and she even managed to get a large one on my lower lash line out that I thought I would have to pay an exorbitant amount at a dermatologist or ophthalmologist to have removed. I went to Samantha under the impression I had milia formed thus booked an appointment for a removal session. As we were chatting she pointed out that the build up was from hair follicles and not milia so she could not extract. She then proceeded to apply tea tree oil on the area. I paid over $100 to be told I did not have milia and apply tea tree oil. Apparently she didn't see anything wrong with charging me this. I would've paid a lower consultation fee but this was a complete rip off and I wouldn't recommend her services. read more

WOW! I was in NYC recently on holiday, and needed to have a milia removed. As a guy, I have no sweet clue about anything to do with my skin, so as far as I knew, this could be a day surgery. After doing some googling/yelping I discovered Samantha Roberts, and thought I would give her a call. Best decision ever. I called her and made an appointment for later that day. When I arrived, she gave me two options: 1) to simply remove that milia, or 2) try a full facial, and remove the milia along the way. Having never had a facial before, I figured why not? I am on vacation after all. After over an hour later, i discovered two key things: 1) Holy hell - why haven't I had a facial before? Amazing. 2) I am a giant wimp - the "extraction" element of the facial had me curling my toes and asking questions like "whats a blackhead?". Yikes! Most thorough extractions and milia removal I've ever gotten. I usually develop a handful of milia over the course of a year and have the dermatologist take them out for $185. This is practically the same price and you get fantastic extractions and a relaxing facial as well. Just note that as usual, extractions/milia removal will leave slight temporary marks. If you're looking for what to expect, on me it was: small red bumps on the day of the facial where I had the biggest extractions (like bug bites that have mostly healed and are barely noticeable), couple days after was a few flat tiny red spots where the skin was still healing, and ~3 days after the facial my nose flaked a bit. I went to Samantha to have what I thought were milia removed from under my eyes. I was wrong! She told me they were cholesterol deposits instead. Either way I was sick of looking at them and wanted them removed. Turns out cholesterol deposits are a bit more stubborn and difficult. It did hurt a bit, but Samatha was as caring and comforting as ever and it was no problem in the slightest. Not only is Samantha kind and attentive, but she's got the magic touch. I've gone to her twice, and the first time I felt like she went above and beyond getting all the milia out of from under my one eye! I first went to Samantha over 5 years ago. I had small bumps all over my cheeks and was fearful of getting a facial since my past experiences always left me with worse break outs. But from the first time I saw her she began a serious transformation for my skin. As everyone has said, her extractions are no joke! She leaves nothing behind which may not be the best feeling at the time but if you have bad acne as I did, it is absolutely necessary. After my first visit I saw her 3 more times in a few weeks so that she could keep an eye on my skin. I started using the products she suggested and my skin was actually balanced for the first time ever. After those first couple of visits she told me I didn't have to come back for 3 months. After the 3 it became 6 months and so on. I liked that she told me it wasn't necessary to come back for a while. I never felt like she was trying to keep getting me there for no reason.
