Erica is amazing! I found her eight years ago and I have never found anyone that is better! She is driven by results yet cautious with execution. I did micro channeling and saw great results! I had gone to a plastic surgeon who said my drooping jowl was fat. Erica took a look and saw it was loss of collagen. The procedure helped tighten my skin and my jowl. Dirty towel and just dirty place overall. I found the estheticia's hair fell on my face. When I asked for tissue erica gave me a toilet paper. She also kept missing spot with product so I asked for cream at the end so I can apply on my face. Hands-down one of the top 2 facial experiences I've had in New York City. I've lived here for 11 years and have had poor experiences with facials/aestheticians. I've had hickeys left from microdermabrasion (see past review), bloody scabs left from harsh lancet extractions (see past review for that as well), had my skin ridiculed during a facial...you name it, I've experienced it. I gave up facials. Unfortunately my skin suffered from my lack of faith in NYC aestheticians. And then came Groupon...who introduced me to the lovely Erica and Spa Catalina. I've finally come to admit that at age 40 I need to start taking care of my skin. Since I don't know much about about skincare I decided to go to Erica. She explained to me what she thought was best for my skin and why. I felt completely comfortable right away. I'm so happy I found someone I can trust. Woke up today and had to give this place 5 stars. First off I bought a voucher from Groupon and was going to use it for a hydra facial. I have terrible hyper pigmentation on my skin for years now and acne. However Lovely Erica sat down with me and explained to me that a better option will be the dermapen. She saved me some cash since I wanted to do both. Somebody else would've did both and further damage my skin but not Erica. This place is the filthiest most disgusting spot I have ever seen. This woman does NOT have any license to practice what she does and is extremely unprofessional. She had filthy blankets scattered all over and the "office" which is some filthy back corner in a building smelled like Chinese beef. Had an incredible experience at Spa Catalina with Erica. Not only did she walk me through everything, but she listened closely to what I wanted. I was getting a spray tan for a wedding (I'm very fair skinned) and she picked the perfect shade to make me look sun kissed tan but not too dark. The tanning solution she uses is organic, does not streak or look unnatural at all. All of my friends were convinced I had arrived a few days early to catch some extra rays ;) Erica also did a great job of making sure the tan was evenly disbursed across my skin - there were no blotches or really light spots - just perfectly brown. She also made sure to clean my hands and feet so I wouldn't get any weird lines in my knuckles or toes. I would definitely recommend her. She is friendly, professional and a perfectionist. Erica was amazing. Her suite smells great and has a very zen decor with some awesome greenery. She made sure to explain everything to me as the process was happening and what I was going to expect. She has great equipment and showed me the effects of specific treatments. Her energy was peaceful, kind, and sweet. Not to mention, my face felt like a baby's. I left with a clear, smooth, and tighter face. I got the Silk Dermal Infusion which is a tool that exfoliates, sucks out impurities, and infuses vitamins that brighten and tighten the skin. There are a few options depending on your skin type. I also got the venus freeze with a wrap. After the treatment, she wraps your problem area with hot towels and wraps you in an infrared blanket that steams your body.
