As someone with a few variations upon the theme of medical-phobia, my visit with Dr. Zuckerbrod and…read morehis staff at Ideal Family Eye Care was exceptionally rewarding and precious to me, from intake to technician services to the doctor himself to the optician.  The intake was the equivalent of "welcome home."  Shira the technician was amazing in her customer-empathy, perfectly balancing professionalism with sensitivity.  Dr. Zuckerbrod explained the condition of my eyes to precisely the depth I requested so that I would be informed but not nervous.  The first-class non-invasive technology marks wonderful progress from my experiences in other places in earlier times.  Finally, Ron the super-friendly optician really showed his experience in customer service (i.e. inform, explain, but refrain from pushing product) he gained from his prior experiences in ownership.  Overall, I clearly found myself among the right people at the right time at the right place, and it's great that both my wife and I now have had the wonderful experience of relating with the Ideal team.

The have so many frames to choose from and they truly help you pick frames that's best matches your fave, your style, etc. the have options that can be a bit pricy but they also have budget friendly frames as well, who know maybe some people's insurance would even cover it all but even if you have insurance that's not really helpful financially the ladies sure work with you so that you go home feeling good and looking good. The turn around time to pick up your new frames was approximately just shy of 2 weeks. Nonetheless, I felt comfortable, I felt heard, I felt cared for. Maybe being so used to an eye doctor who provided my vision care for over 30 years and is now gone is a difficult void for another doctor to fill for me at this time. All in all, I will continue to come here until a time I feel that I may need to move on to another provider.

In the…read moremiddle of my appt, a lady named Cindy from billing came in the back and wanted $200 and told me to pay it now, and request reimbursement from my insurance, this is AFTER I'm in the back being seen, provided insurance and claim numbers. I paid $200 out of pocket because they refused my insurance. And the dr wanted a follow up visit in a week. I contacted the front desk, got an appt for tomorrow, and asked what the expectation was and front desk told me $130 for follow up visits. I asked to speak with billing, reached the same Cindy, and from the very start of the call, she was interrupting me, yelling over me, extremely rude after I just wanted clarity on what the out of pocket expense is. I requested a supervisor, she claims she is the supervisor. And I said the way she speaks to people is inappropriate. She claimed I never provided insurance information. I gave the info to her in writing the day of. She had everything and I was forced to pay anyway. At this point, i asked her if she had any proof in writing she informed me she would bill my insurance, and she said no. Obviously not, because I paid. I asked to cancel the appt. She refused to cancel my appointment and decided to be petty and ask me for an email in writing stating I want the appointment canceled. I asked her why she needs an email and her response was "you asked me for something in writing so I'm asking you." That is the rudest associate I have ever encountered in my entire life, and I will never recommend this facility. You don't know how to speak to people and you shouldn't be working in billing.

Then called and left a message and gave me another date and time ,I called back to confirm and left a message no one ever called me back . Fast-forward to today's appointment I get a call this morning that they need to reschedule my appointment due to scheduling conflicts. Stated they called me last week which they did not ,no messages or nothing. And I was sent a message yesterday confirming today's appointment and what I should expect. Very disappointed and maybe more training is needed!

I also learned they had a Groupon for $49 for the eye exam they charged me ($350). They refused to provide me a refund even though I called 10 minutes after leaving the appointment . I decided to dispute the charge since I never received the glasses, they did respond to the dispute ensuring i was charged... yet I have never heard from them and till this day months later still don't have the glasses they charged me $1600 dollars for. DO NOT GO HERE, IF YOU DO MAKE SURE YOU USE A GROUPON, DONT DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.
